I was here today for a luncheon following a Memorial Service. A private room was reserved for family. Upon entering, the ambiance is very welcoming with a home-like casual feel. The staff members were very friendly and attentive to whatever we needed. After being served beverages, we were invited to partake of soup from their self-serve "soup bar," which included chicken noodle, cream of broccoli, cabbage, and lemon rice. I selected the cream of broccoli and can tell you that it was amazingly delicious. The flavoring was perfect and it was appropriately thick with lots of broccoli (of course) and delicate bits of carrots. A buffet was set up in our private room. There were salad makings available, with a large bowl of lettuce and separate bowls of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. I passed on salad because I hadn't eaten breakfast and felt I needed to save myself for the entree portion of the buffet. I had chicken breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Salisbury steak was also an option. I was very happy with my food selections and the food was very hot. If this restaurant was anywhere near where I live, I can imagine being a frequent customer. It was the perfect choice, however, for the occasion as it was very close to the church and provided a comfortable venue for family members to offer condolences, share happy memories and enjoy a delicious meal. While I love to share photos, I didn't want to be inappropriate or obnoxious given the circumstances. Finally, I must say that there were many delectable desserts that I refrained from trying because I spent too much time in my car and was trying to limit my calories. A great place for large groups especially for breakfast during the breakfast bar. This time i had two coneys fries and a coke for right around $16. Hotdogs seem to me to be all beef but you might want to double check that. This place also boasts a full bar of alcohol. Party rooms and big tables for large groups. They usually play the local radio station on the speakers so pop music is what youll hear while your eating. They have a all you can eat soup bar. read more

A few years ago I would've given Leon's 5 stars any day of the week for their mix of family dishes. Lately the food as well as the service has been on a downhill spiral. Our last visit grandson ordered a bbq burger. Couldn't eat it. Not even the fries. Other grandson ordered a bowl of plain spaghetti with olive oil. What he got was rancid vegetable oil. It was pathetic. Hubby and I ordered the fish dinner. When it arrived my first taste proved that the fish was raw. I sent it back. A new dinner arrived just as everyone else was finishing their food. (What they stomach of it) I let the younger grandson pass on his noodles and go straight for the ice cream. Unfortunately he had eaten enough of the pasta to throw up as soon as we got home) Older grandson didn't eat his food. Ours was barely palatable. Fish raw, cold fries and grey cole slaw. Classic diner with large booths. Service was good and food came out quick. We ordered the specials, meatloaf and pot roast. You won't go hungry, there was a lot of food. Im a fan of Leons Taylor because they are consistent! Go for the breakfast bar, or the soup bar, or the seafood bar. Period, if you want good home cooking, without cooking it, or spending an arm or a leg. Go here. We love Soup. Soup comes with dang near every meal, you can make a meal OUT of the soup bar. Soups rotate everyday. Try them all. Breakfast is good with good quality meats and a cook egg cook in the back. Salads are huge and plentiful. Theres a ton of different sandwiches, wraps, burgers, or the Famous Daily Specials. Of course they change daily, but there are designated days for things. I like Thursday because I get Beef Barley Soup. Lent brings about the seafood buffet which has cod in few ways, smelt, shrimp, mac and cheese, fries, hush puppies, salad and soup. It's local. Its big. Parking is easy. I'm generally the youngest person whenever I go there. But that just means, they have regulars so its gotta be good. Have i had better food? Yeah, probably, most likely. But the food, the quality, the amount, the price, the service (most servers are old ladies, be nice).... It just all works together. read more

We were looking for a place for a quick dinner.The restaurant next door was takeout only. We should have just stopped by some where closer to home.There were a lot of cars in the parking lot late in the afternoon.We thought they must be good and popular. About six people were standing in the foyer waiting to be seated.We waited for a while.We're seated in a booth close to the entrance.We were one of only 4 tables occupied in the main restaurant.There was a group occupying the banquet room.That is where the many cars in the lot were from. The seasoned waitress was rushed to get our food order.We quickly made choices.We were told any salad orders were 1$ more due to lettuce shortage!? We ordered pot roast and chicken parmigiana dinners with soup bar and salad. The soup bar was attended by older gentleman.We obtained our own cup of chicken noodle and cup cream of broccoli.Both were not very tasty and as if watered down.There were only carrots visible in either one. The chicken parmigiana was topped with 8 tiny pieces of white cheese shreds.No melted mozzarella.The chicken did not look appetizing. Come with Mac, Salad, Bread Basket n All you can eat Soup Bar Wonderful Clam Chowder. A large selection of meals all come with Soup Bar. Full Bar making your favorite cocktails and Beer. Four dining rooms, we feel so comfortable in the area inside the front door. Great fun waitresses had Spike on Father's Day n Ms Mississippi today. We also shared a Mixed Beef n Chicken Shawarma Plate with Creamy Hummus n Pita bread spot on Wonderful. She had a Chicken Breast topped with Mushrooms n Onions , Rice topped with Greek Red Sauce. During the weekend of October 3/4 Leon's served as the unofficial headquarters of our family reunion. I think we ate there four times with groups as large as 42 ! We'd show up with little advance notice, but the staff was able to serve everyone very quickly. They are super friendly people there. Portions are huge so splitting is advised. This places service has really gone down hill. This is the last time i eat here. The waitress gave me someone elses food and put my food on someone elses table (during the covid19 pandemic the day of this post) and they started salting and peppering the food i touched theirs with the fork i had been eating with and the waitress just swapped them out from one table to the other. I cant eat salt. And the waitress never came back to my table after pulling this crap! So now im not leaving a tip!!!! This place is now dirty in my book. Not really my best decision I was very disappointed with the chopped steak, no gravy and looks like slop, got my wife the chicken breast marinated and topped with pineapple. Dry chicken.... It's a local place with a huge menu! I was here recently for breakfast with my brother, it's convenient to other places we were stopping at. It's not over the top breakfast food, but solidly enjoyable. The coffee was good and hot, and the cup was kept full. My brother enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I never want to eat that much at breakfast, so I opted for eggs, pancakes, bacon - the usual. Great service, very clean, a solid 4 stars. read more

Leon's has really poor cleaniness standards. MY WIFE FOUND A BUG AND A HUMAN HAIR IN THE SOUP from the soup bar. Our waitress told the manager who listened to her on his way to the kitchen. The manger then came back out from the kitchen in 30 seconds with two plates of food for another customer. You would think they would at least change the soup in the soup bar but ten minutes later the bug soup was still in the bar and PEOPLE WERE EATING IT! The BEST SOUP in town and grade A quality service. Their menu is nothing to sneeze at either they have everything and their prices are very reasonable. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant. The food was fantastic each time. The first time was for lunch. I had a chicken wrap with fries, my cousin had fish and chips and my aunt had eggs benedict. All the meals came with the unlimited soup bar. The soup was amazing...tasted like homemade. We all enjoyed our meals and felt the price was extremely good for the quantity and quality of the food. We went back tonight. My cousin again had fish and chips and this time I took my sister and niece. Both my sister and I had the pork chop dinner and my niece had the turkey dinner. All the meals were under $10. The portion sizes were extremely generous, the food was amazing and our server Gina was a sweetheart...super attentive and helpful. She just happened to be our server the first time also. The restaurant was clean. Once again the soups were amazing....all of us had both the potato soup and their chicken noodle soup. It's a nice place to sit and relax. The lights at the tables are at a bad place tho, the light shines down in your eyes. But you able to twist off the light bulb. The waitstaff is friendly, never had a problem with bad service. There was a fed times it took way too long for the food but most the time it's not a problem . They have a lot of options when it comes to sides with your food, you get your entree and like 3 or 4 other dishes to go with. And all you can eat soup bar, not the best soup in town but when it comes with your meal and is all you can eat then you can't really complain. The price is more than I would like but for the amount you get it's ok. Also every thanksgiving the do a turkey dinner thing where you can eat for free, you can donate if you like but it's not necessary. The dinner is awsome too. We were seated right away on Memorial Day (we came here cuz it was one of the only things near us that was open.) we just moved to the area, and our go to, Pete's Place, was closed. You can just hear the waitress complaining and b******g in the kitchen. My waitress... ok. Where do I even start??? She was HORRIBLE. must've been atleast 70 years old, she was very horribly slow. (I work in the service industry myself, so I know what standard is, this was by no means anything that should be considered tolerable.) We ordered the cheese quesadilla for an appetizer, it was just ok. Nothing more than what I could've made myself at home. Oh well. So We ordered our food and I had to repeat mine ATLEAST 5 TIMES while she was writing it down, and it was extremely simple... chicken Gyro with no tomatoes. How hard is it to write that down honestly.. anyways my fiancé ordered stuffed peppers . After he ordered she looks at me and says "ok, so chicken gyro right?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? So we go to the soup bar while we wait and both get cream of broccoli. It was alright.. nothing special whatsoever. Then our food comes.. mine just looked gross. Their tziki sauce is NOT how most places make. There was about 4 little shreds of lettuce, and maybe 4 little diced pieces of onions. Then huge chunks of chicken that was rubbery and gross. I tried my best to eat it but just couldn't. My fiancé said the stuffed peppers were alright, but yet again nothin special. Oh and I forgot, she dropped the bill on the table with the food.. WHO DOES THAT?? She rushed us the whole time. So after about 5 minutes she comes and checks on us. I said everything was just ok, because being a waitress I hate to complain. I told her we are going to order dessert after. The disappointment on her face was enough to make me instantly offended. "Oh..... ok well what do you want?" Excuse me?? I've taken about 4 bites of my food. I tell her to give me a minute. she goes in the server station, leans against the wall, and stares at me.
