They never really checked up on us but it was fine. The food was nice and hot as the noodles was served in a stone bowl to keep it nice and hot. The portion was small to me for the price. I've dined here a few times since there's not a lot of vietnamese restaurant options in the area and it was relatively close. Not my first choice as the food quality and flavor is just ok. The bo ne (#27) is not that great. The steak is dry and not properly seasoned. The other cuts of meat were small and thinly sliced. The plate lack juice and flavoring and just dry overall. The banh mi bo kho at first impression looks disappointing. I can tell straight away the broth looks water down and coloring doesn't look right. The taste is ok however my gripe is they gave me 2 huge chunk of fats, 1 tendon, and two cube of meats. The fats and tendon I can't eat..I mean who wants to eat pure chunk of fats? When I told the waitress she said she can't exchange it or replace it because I didn't mention that I don't want it. Well how am I supposed to know if I never ordered this dish before.. a few minutes later while eating I saw a bug in my soup!!! I immediately told the lady to send it back and I don't want a replacement. Why would I want a replacement of the soup where the bug came from and who knows there may be more in there... Heard so many good things about this place I had to stop in one day for lunch.. I was very impressed with the decor and cafe style dining. Small but quaint restaurant. I had the banh mi bit tet op la. It's a filet steak , sausage and sunny side up eggs. It comes with a fresh baguette, vegetables, pate(liver paste) and mayo. See picture. BUN DAU MAM TOM is my all time FAVORITE here! Despite all the delicious dishes, the decorations are very modern but yet has the antique vibe. Waitstaffs are super nice and friendly. Came here because I wanted the periwinkle/ snails. No, I am not weird for eating snails.. Can I just call it street food or exotic food? I got the coconut Oc (snails). The coconut sauce was so creamy and flavorful. I was having trouble getting the snails out, so I asked for a tooth pick. If you love snails, this portion is not enough to share. I also got Bo Ne. Fillet mignon pho was on point. Lots of flavor and it's STILL BOILING when they bring it out in the bowl which is awesome. It comes with plenty of meat on the side. Com thit nuong is not something I would order again from here. Nice portion but No flavor and meat was dry. But I would come back for the pho for sure. Love that the bowl keeps the pho hot. Clean environment. There's a outside patio for sitting as well (there's even a heater for when it's cold out). All of the workers are super nice and polite. This time another friend recommended again so we came here for dinner. May I say, this time I actually review the menu. My friends ordered the pho with rare meat and it came piping hot on a stone bowl like the one you will get at a Korean place for Bibimpap. The meat and noodle was on the side so you can add into the hot stone when ready to eat. I am impress! My other friend ordered bun bo hue and she literally drank all the soup and almost lick the bowl. She said it is one of the best she had so far and this girl loves bun bo hue. I got the sour soup with catfish (hot sure the Vietnamese term is). It was piping hot and the order is only $13.99 for one person. Portion was good and they had fish sauce on the side. I am definitely going to drive here next time. I asked the owner to consider opening one in Carrollton area. We so need an authentic one in our area. The staff all so wonderfully manner and they go above and beyond to help as if they are the owner of the restaurant. I saw a lot of impatient patrons, confused and impatient looks--turning their heads every so often wondering where their food was. Snails - very creamy. bland, but strong coconut taste as it is soaked in coconut milk. Bo Ne - DELISH!!!! Pate spread is good (BO NE in Houston has better pate spread), but the meat they use at Mon Viet is much better. The dish comes with 1 egg, a couple slices of Chinese sausage and small slices of Vietnamese ham (cha). Their french bread (also comes with the dish) is crispy on the outside, so soft on the inside---I like! I would not drive all the way to Arlington just to eat this dish again, but it is good enough I will eat this dish here again. Makes sense, right? I see they open early -- 7:30 am! Only came here to try da bun mam! I heard it was good. And it was good! A bit too salty tho, and the mam was very overpowering: not overpowering of the smell, but of the taste. There's a differences when people describe overpowering. Bun mam was delicious, but the color was too dark for me. I love the smell tho, the stronger the better. The story of how mon viet came about is very inspiring. To put all your fears aside and open a restaurant full of passed down recipes and flavors, is remarkable. This family has the flavor! (& girl power!) The parking is super easy, plenty out in front & on the side, and they have a patio as well for you to sit and eat. Once I walked in, greeted immediately and sat down. Menu is easy to read, and they also have food and to-go items at the very front if you would like to grab and go. I always get the chicken when I come, the sauce that comes with it is AMAZING! And their rice and eggs are always on point.i also get their avocado boba smoothie, freshly made, very creamy. Had no idea on what to get, but the server was kind enough to pull out his phone and show me pictures of all the foods I had questions about. Another star! Still decided on the vermicelli pork bowl. I wasn't in the mood for pho, which looked like it dominated the menu. Vermicelli pork with egg rolls is my usual go to dish at Vietnamese restaurants and this was my first place where I had to order my egg rolls separately in order to have my usual. (I haven't been to many Vietnamese restaurants, this is probably my 7th one in my entire life, so maybe this is kinda normal to do.) But we'll just forget this whole situation cause you can get them for free if you check in on Facebook. lul Everything tasted normal. It's grilled pork over vermicelli! The fish sauce was spicy tho, that was something new. There was just something odd about every bite. It was crunchy, but not in a good way like eating lettuce. It took me years to finally check out the hype of Mon Viet Restaurant. I know for sure I wanted to try their Bo Ne or the beef sizzling plate. I'm always a big fan of Bo Ne whenever I go to Vietnam. I found it very exciting there's a restaurant that has it. The beef is very juicy and everything is cooked perfectly. The only thing that threw me off is the Chinese sausage along with the Vietnamese hams. Overall, it's a good dish for me. If you have little ones, their menu is not really kid friendly. I checked in on Facebook to get their free egg rolls for my daughter. Unfortunately, their egg rolls seemed dry (probably recooked in the oven) and over season with pepper making it too spicy. read more

I used to think this place had pretty good food for awhile until they started lower the quality of their food meanwhile raising the prices. I understand there's a price increase everywhere, but it's only acceptable if you're still using the same quality. Their Bo Ne dish used to have Chinese sausage which is what "Bo Ne" is supposed to have. They now replaced the Chinese sausage for some cheap American sausage. Pics included below from 2019 to now. When I asked the owner she said there was a shortage of Chinese sausage due to the pandemic (Which is absolutely untrue given it is sold everywhere). It is weird to increase your price and low ball on your food quality. Their pho price increased and they made the noodles portion smaller. When we ask for the red onions/white onions on the side instead of in our bowl, we were charged $1 extra. I don't understand why having my onions on the side would cost an extra dollar, I'm gonna assume for the extra plate? I gave it 3 stars for the quality. The taste is still good and I would give them 4 stars for that. The owner is extremely sweet and friendly, but the way they do business was disappointing for me. I still think their pho is one of the top 2 around dfw next to Pho Ngon In Asia Time Square. If I'm being honest I have avoided this place countless times now due to the ridiculous increase along with cheap food quality. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now. This place is pretty good. I don't like many Asian restaurants in Arlington because I'm so picky. I usually ordered the filet mignon (chopped) pho. With a side of egg with broth in it. I also bring my own saté from Houston just to enjoy it lol. They also have other good food like bo kho. It's also one of my favorites there. Last night we came and order mi xao gion (stir fry crunch fried noodles), canh chua ca (sweet and sour soup with fish), ca kho to (clay pot fish), banh mi bit tet op la (bread with sizzling plate of filet mignon with an egg over easy and Chinese sausages on the side), we also both ordered salted lemonade soda and avocado smoothies each. So we had 4 drinks and 4 entrees at the table of two! Hahaha the ca kho to needs to be kho a little more. But this is the only place I know of that will serve filet mignon in pho, (reminds me of Houston) they also have other goodies for food and drinks there like mam ruoc xao. Ordered the spring rolls and the banh mi bit tet op la (reason for the visit) with extra pate of course. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Spring rolls were fresh and the peanut sauce is as pretty good. The banh mi dish came or sizzling hot. For filet mignon steak, I questioned whether it was since it was a little tough and I wished they had the pickled veggies on the side as well but overall it was good. Had to wait an hour for spring rolls and my rice dish. I see people coming in after me and getting their food before I did. Poor service as well, didn't refill our water jugs on the table or didn't ask us if we need anything. I don't plan on coming back to this restaurant. Food is good but not worth the wait for an hour. Oh the quality has dipped. Although I appreciate the freebie "check in and get an item free", It couldn't save this place another star. Apparently they have seasonal menu, so over the summer, i ordered "bun dau mam tom" and it looks and tastes completely different from last summer. They changed the dish with different ingredients. The mam tom was different also. The old mam tom has a layer of oil on top but this time it was not the case. Seems like they toned down the mam tom part so more people can enjoy it? I think?! But for me personally, it doesn't taste like mam tom anymore. Their clams stew was pretty good, spicy but lack just a tiny bit of salt. And i wish they served it with fish sauce instead of lime and salt. Which I don't mind, BUT THE FISH SAUCE WITH GINGER IS THE SHIT YALL. Difficult place to find thanks to the construction. The place had a relaxing atmosphere with nice decor. Servers were nice and attentive. Made sure to refill our drinks. They were also really quick to pick up finished plates while we were still eating. Not sure if that's a pro or con. My friend and I ordered the Pho filet mignon and the steak and eggs with banh mi. The Beef of the pho was soft and delicious. The broth was perfect. The portion is smaller than usual however the taste makes it up. For the steak and eggs, the steak was okay, not much flavor. The sausages were sweet and delicious. I was disappointed that we didn't get any eggs? Also if you want another banh mi, it's another $1. Expensive than usual.
