    Cute seating area

This cafe is so cute! Selfie wall, treats, sips, free wifi, and a ton of seating make this a perfect work from cafe spot, and I will definitely return. Love that the empanadas are embossed with the monada name. They had a decent amount of cookies and pastries left at almost closing time, and the cookies looked large and gooey! SO many cute tables and chairs outside, a long bar with stools facing the big window, and more nooks, couches, and tables and chairs inside. So many options! Love the decor, service was awesome and friendly. Can't wait to return!

I'm back after about a year away. These folks are better than ever, having dialed in their barista skills.

The food was incredible, the drinks were incredible, and the staff was so sweet! They also had several GF options, including a GF coffee cake, if you need/prefer that. My tropical fruit smoothie was divine, and I appreciated the giant straw! The croissants are flaky and buttery and went perfectly as a breakfast sandwich. The entire place had an adorable vibe and was also super clean. 10/10 would recommend stopping in here for breakfast or a treat if you are in the area.

I tried this place for the first time and I personally did not like it. I order a ham coquettes and they were a bit soggy. The chicken panini was not a panini and the chicken was flavorless and dry. The Cuban panini and ham croissant was good. The price was not reasonable the chicken panini was 14.99 with no side or drink included the Cuba was 13.99.Overall, I will just get the breakfast items next time because that is what they seem to excel in. Additionally the service was good.

A Latin cafe, east of the railroad tracks, is a killer idea. Julius Meinl coffee? Even better. The case, with empanadas, and the menu of Latin sandwiches, looks amazing. What comes out? Espresso that, with an improperly calibrated machine, is off. The meat in the Pan Con Bistec sandwich is under-seasoned, and the whole sandwich is unfortunately bland. The bread is good on crunch, but just lackluster on texture. No chifles (plantain chips), but Cape Cod "reduced fat" potato chips? The chef is Colombian, I'm told. Maybe it is British Columbia? They're going to have to figure out TONE. Don't do Latin half-heartedly. Be Latin and proud, in a neighborhood which just got a Delicias Cuban Bakery three blocks away, at the Chevron station up the street. You can go more Wonder Bread with inoffensive muffins and American sandwiches. This place needs to find its center. It's soul. Is it terrible? No. Is it terribly good? No. It's earnest, but it lacks passion. Lots of restaurants can get by without much energy in their food. We are a nation of grazers. Location, though, becomes a problem. Located closer to the always-promised opening of the long-shuttered Gulfstream Hotel, in a building which doesn't make its retail stand out, street side, the very location demands that A-game food that will turn it into a destination. I hope that they can find a way to kick it up a notch. They're very nice people. I would love to love this place more. Right now, it's won't thrill ya, won't kill ya. That's not enough to make me hunt down parking around that building.

Stopped here for a quick snack while on a bike ride and really like the atmosphere of this place. It's cute, modern, very clean and has a good range of selection when it come to food. I decided to try the ham croquetes and they were light, fresh and delicious. I love a place that makes this little delight fresh! I'll definitely be coming back to try some of the other dished. The sandwich selection looks amazing!

We loved this little place. There are tables outside and a few inside. Very clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I had a great cup Of coffee and a guava and cheese croissant. Delish.

Always happy with our visit! If you're spending the day at the beach stop for a smoothie, an ice coffee, or açaí bowl! Today I got the veggie omlet for breakfast and my husband got the turkey and egg bagel sandwich and oh YUM! Please come support this adorable cafe and small business. The staff is always happy to great and serve.

Monada Cafe is a local gem! It's a cafe conveniently located on the east end of Lake Ave on the way to the beach. It's new, bright, and clean with a hip vibe. The sun streams in while chill music plays in the background. You can get a variety of pastries as well as my favorite, avocado toast with perfectly poached eggs. The owners are South American so there is a Latin flavor to the menu and an excellent café con leche! If you're in the area (or even if not) go and support this local treasure.

We also ordered a cinnamon roll cookie that literally is like eating a cinnamon roll. It even had a soft center which i loved. My best friend got a guava and cheese croissant. We learned about the restaurant being named for her mom (No, it doesn't mean gold). The restaurant faces the south side of the street in a strip next to the smoke shop. Parking is in a lot a couple doors west. Look for the umbrella table outside. The street numbers jump from 500 to 426 in one storefront. Inside, it's charmingly decorated. The dates on the walls refer to different relatives birth years. We started with drinks. I got an iced decaf coffee. I had my choice of 3 milks. He had an iced chai latte. He said it didn't need any added sugar. Both were very good. For food, I ordered their burger. It was cooked to temp as requested. The patty topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. It was good. Alongside came crispy chips and a small bowl of their special (addictive) Le Dor sauce -- a mix of cheese and burger jus. My husband had their chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. The salad had nice chunks of chicken along with raisins, avocado, spicy mayo (just a touch of a kick), and lettuce. There were grapes and an orange, too, on the plate. He said it was wonderful. The menu is small, but prepared to look good as well as taste delicious. They offer special pasta nights. Call for info and reservations for these events. As if Bad Bunny and reggaeton weren't already my happy place, when the steaming canoa de plátano maduro was placed in front of me, I went from happy place straight to food heaven. The plantain was soft and sweet and filled with "meat" that was juicy and spiced so well, and topped with pico de gallo and creamy sauce. The canoa alone was bursting with so many different flavors that worked so well together, but even the quinoa and beans were a nice juxtaposition to the other flavors. Even the salad with pickled onions was a bright highlight of the dish. I honestly wouldn't change anything. If this is what vegan food was like all of the time, I would reconsider my food choices. But then we get to the arepa de choclo which was soft with a light crust, so full of corn flavor, and filled with the gooiest most delightful cheese that was the savory balance that the sweet corn needed.
