There is a line, as seems like there usually is always a line so be prepared to wait a bit. The cashier was nice and friendly, she helped me decide between the tow options I was considering. The line did move quickly and once I had a taste of my sandwich I can definitely say it was worth it. Smoked yellowfin tuna salad with Gruyère, crisp romaine, fresh tomato, mayo, and a mustard shallot vinaigrette served on a crusty baguette, so yum. I was in West Palm Beach around lunchtime, which finally gave me the perfect opportunity to try Buccan's sandwich takeout on the side of Grato. I've have been salivating over everyone's sandwich posts that have been popping up all over my social media and now that i have been here it is easy to see why this spot is so beloved. Buccan Sandwich Shop is part of the Ember Group's collection of restaurants led by Chef Clay Conley and his partners, Sam Slattery and Oliver "Piper" Quinn. In 2011 the team opened Buccan, a fine dining restaurant in Palm Beach. In March 2015. Members of the Trump family, Michael Jordan, Martha Stewart, and Travis Kelcoe and Taylor Swift have been spotted dining there. In 2015 the original Buccan Sandwich Shop next to the restaurant on South County Road opened. It was inspired in part by Conley's college days and quickly became known for its gourmet sandwiches and salads, the signature beef carpaccio sandwich, and the decadent chocolate chip cookies. Eventually the sandwich shop concept made its way to West Palm Beach. In February 2023, the second Buccan Sandwich Shop opened as a takeout window next to Conley's former restaurant, Grato, on South Dixie Highway. Free street parking is available which is always appreciated. More recently, in May 2026, the Ember Group opened a third Buccan Sandwich Shop alongside sister concepts Buccan and Imoto on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. My coworker suggested ordering in for his birthday. I decided to give the beef carpaccio another try. Opted for no arugula due to the cyclospora outbreak but asked for extra Parmesan. Third time was truly a charm as the cheese just really ties all the sweet and savory flavors of the balsamic onions and lemon vinaigrette together. I got the box lunch that comes with a nice juicy pickle, crispy house chips and a delicious chocolate chip cookie and a drink. It was enough to have left overs. I usually get the ginger lemonade but this time I switched it up and tried the half and half (Arnold Palmer) which was made with the perfect amount of tea and lemonade. Great table by the front window for a party if three. The carpaccio sandwich which they are famous for did NOT disappoint at all. The buffalo chicken sandwich was flavorful and piping hot. Neat take on a classic recipe and my only complaint was that it cost $12 to add a bit of plain simple chicken to my daughter's salad I could have bought two rotisserie chickens for that. Found a parking spot immediately, the guy at the window was friendly and my order was ready right on time. It was "mhm mhm mhm, the flavors are melting in my mouth" good! From the beef to the crispy balsamic onions - straight flavortown!!!! Seriously, every bite hit. The homemade chips were delicious and probably the right portion, but they were so good I honestly could've used about 50% more. The Arnold Palmer looks made in house by the looks of the bottle and while it was good, I would've liked it just a touch sweeter. Service was smooth, walked right up. There were plenty people there but standing waiting on their food. I ordered online. The guy at the window was nice, and my food was ready on time or couple minutes after. Parking seemed limited, but I lucked up and grabbed a spot in the super small lot behind the building. There's also street parking, and apparently another lot nearby maybe, idk because it was mentioned to me via text after I completed the feedback survey. This location is located off of Belvedere and Dixie and has very limited parking. This location is also a walk up window and it was very easy for pickup. I've been craving a good quality sandwich and Buccan did not disappoint. The steak bomb is like a fancier cheesesteak sandwich but has this cherry pepper aioli and banana peppers that add the perfect amount of tangy and spice. I found myself wanting more! The homemade chips are great with a kettle chip crunch and lightly salted. The cookie was the perfect dessert, chewy center and crunchy exterior. This was a pick up order and did not dine in. Ambiance: stood outside and waited for our order that we put in online for. We were maybe 4th or 5th order from opening. So that was great as so many people showed up around the same time. Service: service was good nothing to base off of. We put our order in at 11am and got our food at 1130. Good turn out. Free parking was directly behind the building which is shared by a few other businesses and valet parking is offered for tips only. I grew up in the family gourmet deli business in metropolitan NYC. This place is legit. These sandwiches are creative, original, high quality, fresh ingredients and delicious. So far we've had the tuna and the steak sandwich and we were very impressed. The tuna was really unlike any tuna sub I've ever had and I mean that in a good way. Steak sandwich was on the spicy side and loaded with flavor. The sub rolls that they use for these sandwiches are tasty and fresh. The homeade potato chips were also top notch. Be prepared to wait sometimes more than 30 minutes outside (not much shade). This place is not a secret and it's very popular even though during most days it's just pick-up and take-out.
