We are staying in the Carriage house cottage. Beautiful setting, grounds, view, buildings! Lovely place for a weekend away. Breakfast included and large patio to enjoy it on. Unfortunately the hot tub is not working, but they gave us a discount which was really nice. Highly recommend this place. What contact we've had with staff has been great, very courteous. Beds turned down while we were out. Seems to be sufficient parking, we parked right out front our door. Place has two queen bedrooms right next to each other, one bathroom and kitchen and lounge. We brought a small mattress for our two yo and had our five yo on the second queen bed. The beds are very high. It's a short drive into Capitola and a great location. Very glad we came. I really think the grounds are one of the highlights here! read more

Off the beaten path, I finally found this place. Nestled within' a residential area with fancy homes; this place was quite an exquisite bed and breakfast. First off, I emailed and received a reply from Jacqueline. She told me what's available, so I made a reservation. It seems like rooms are limited, as I later find out that there's only about 11 total rooms. I was able to reserve one of two available pet friendly units. At first I was set up for the one bedroom, but was later told the couple currently staying in that room decided to stay one more night. I basically was offered the two bedroom at the cost of the one bedroom since no one had reserved it. I took it! It's the gf's birthday, so there's just no backing out. $250 for the Carriage House it is. As we checked in, Jacqueline gave us a small tour of our little cottage. Honestly, I only expected two rooms and a bathroom. Little did I expect I was getting the whole shaabang!!! We had a nice little deck to our entrance, and a huge patio down below. This house came with the master bedroom; a fancy fire place heater. Second bedroom, a cozy living room, and a kitchenette! Then to top it all off, she said the jacuzzi was all ours. WOW!!! Although there are some of the things that needed some noticeable cosmetic repair, it was no big deal because I didn't expect a lot of the things this house came with. This little cottage can easily fit a whole family comfortably. The bathroom was remodeled and clean. The grounds on the other hand can use a bit more maintaining, but it's a bed and breakfast; None of them are perfect. The breakfast was delivered to our door, and we even received a bottle of wine. Posting photos, but their website really has a lot of good photos of the rooms as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The gf was happy, and so was our lil' Nana dog. If I stay here again, it'll most likely be to try a different room. The Carriage House was way to much space for me, the gf, and our lil' mutt. Friends and I stayed at the Monarch Cove Inn last month and had such a wonderful time! We already want to plan another trip! :) I stayed in the Holiday House Cottage with a friend and our other friends stayed in the Carriage House Cottage next door. My friend and I arrived before check-in time, so our cottage wasn't quite ready which gave us time to check out the grounds and the neighborhood. The Inn is in a residential area which is quiet, peaceful and the grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained with beautiful plants, flowers, fountains, and walkways. There's a large deck off the main house that overlooks the ocean, perfect setting for events. The main house is pretty and each suite has its own private entrance. The 2 cottages are dog friendly and set aside from the main house. I brought my little dog. Pet fee is just $20 per night--very reasonable! Once our cottage was ready, Mary let us know, personally checked us in, gave us a little tour and answered any questions we had, which was great! Mary took care to make sure that the cottage's yard area was secure for my dog, which I really appreciated! From the pictures on the website, I knew our cottage was going to be nice, but it looked even prettier and bigger in person! The kitchenette was much bigger than I expected it would be--overlooking our own private fenced-in deck and large patio area. We had a little fridge, stove, microwave, a table/chairs, coffee maker with coffee and tea, as well as a candy dish full of chocolates. No living room however the bedroom itself is cozy and the bed is comfortable. There's a TV but we never turned it on. Bathroom has a shower (no tub). The hot water in our cottage took a while to heat up but once it did, it was HOT. The Carriage House Cottage is adorable, too!-- 2 nice-sized bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom has tub/shower, living room area overlooks the main house, gardens, and has a view of the ocean. There is also a deck surrounding the cottage and a hot tub/gazebo. (Hot tub and deck area isn't fenced, though.) In the morning, continental breakfast (toasted bagel with cream cheese, pastries/muffin/croissant, yogurt, fresh fruit cup, orange juice, and carafe of good, hot coffee) was brought directly to our rooms at a time of our choosing. Everything was very fresh and delicious! With the exception of a walk over to Brighton Beach (a quick walk from the Inn-- just be mindful of poison oak on some of the trails), we spent the rest of our time at the Inn--even prepared dinner together in the Carriage House... Overall we had such a lovely time visiting and relaxing... We are looking forward to staying there again :) read more

I'm getting married here late this summer...totally excited! The view is amazing, the grounds are gorgeous, and the house has such a cool old vibe to it. I love the old garden...it reminds me of being a little kid and wishing I had a secret garden to play in (ok I'm done..haha!) We love Lonna (the innkeeper). She is one of the most genuine people you could meet! We get such great service whenever we come to stay! (even at a moments notice). Every vendor I've worked with is delighted to hear that this is our wedding location. The site fee is $4500, and you are required to stay for 2 nights (Friday & Saturda), which in my mind is a good thing because then the venue is yours all weekend. read more

I loved staying here the night before heading for Carmel Valley. We came from camping in Yosemite, and needless to say it was a great contrast. The sun was shining and I was standing forever soaking in the view. The house has so much exciting history, and I especially liked the thought of mafia boss Scarface Capone walking around the property with high class people back in the day. Maybe he stayed at the Lilac Room? The lilac room had a perfect location with a veranda. We had planned on having our breakfast there but it was way too foggy in the morning. Speaking of the breakfast, it was very refreshing! Fresh fruit, yoghurt, something sweet. What else would you want? I was not able to eat it all. So, don't worrry about breakfast not being good enough. It is! The lilac room was very cosy and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was cute but would have been even cuter with a bit more updated bubble bath, or what?! We did not hear the other guests apart from when they were showering. Not a problem. It was a 10 minute walk to the village and we enjoyed walking around there but did not have a bath as the beach was packed with people. Sundays are not the best day for a quiet bath down there for sure. All in all, we enjoyed our stay to the full and would go back here if in the area! read more

We had our wedding at Monarch Cove Inn in August 2017 and it was perfect. Our favorite part was having the whole inn to ourselves for the wedding weekend. Our families stayed in the 11 rooms and we all got to hang out and have a great time with each other. The view at the inn is incredible and makes an amazing backdrop during the ceremony. Their event space for the reception is perfect. All of our out of town guest we're in awe of the space! We highly recommend this space if you're considering a wedding on the Central Coast. The venue allows for a 50 person rehearsal dinner and 150 person wedding. There are 11 rooms available for rental. It is close to many attractions in the Santa Cruz area and walkable distance into Capitola Village. The staff at the inn is very easy to communicate with and obviously has lots of experience with weddings. read more

Monarch Cove Inn is a hidden gem on the California coastline. It's tucked away in a residential neighborhood so even some Santa Cruz/Capitola locals don't know it's there. It's positioned on a bluff looking out to the Monterey Bay and you'll find many Monarch butterflies floating about on the property between Oct.-March. Although the location is rather private, there are walking paths that lead to New Brighton beach and downtown Capitola. You can avoid getting in the car all weekend if you choose. My husband and I loved the location, ambiance and the humble & warm staff so much that we chose the Monarch Cove Inn as our wedding venue. We rented the entire property for an intimate weekend with friends and family. There are 11 rooms, each of which is unique and comfortable. Each morning (around 8 or 8:30am) a delicious breakfast spread is brought to your room: a basket of varied pastries, yogurt, fruit, OJ and coffee. It's a great way to start the day. Speaking of breakfast, I highly recommend you walk to Gayle's Bakery one morning. I interacted with Jacqueline, Lonna and Krista during our wedding preparations and weekend stay and they are some of the nicest people ever! This place was the worse place ever. The smell for the "Butterfly Room" was horrible, carpets looked like they have never been cleaned, bathroom shower was moldy. We spent a chilled and slightly wet weekend here and, all-in-all, it was not so bad. We stayed in the Lilac Room which is on the southwestern side of the Victorian home and faces the ocean. It is on the ground floor and shares walls with two other rooms and a third above. The walls are uninsulated and quit thin, therefore, you don't have to put your ear to the wall to clearly hear every word, you can enjoy their conversation from the comfort of your own bed or maybe the bathtub. That been said, the obviously trashy people that stayed next to us stayed up til 4am watching TV and arguing. It was as if we were in the room with them and my wife was about to go over and perform an attitude adjustment. They left in the morning and the second night was fine. The room was small and had a nice little fake fireplace, small flat-screen TV, small frig and microwave, and table with chairs. They deliver a nice little Continental Breakfast to your room in the morning, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, pastry's, cream cheese and jam. It was nice to eat in the room. It is a short 10-minute walk to the Village. You have a three block radius to putts around your typical tourist shops and eateries. Everything is over priced, especially alcohol, so be prepared to spend lots of money. The one place you absolutely must eat is Gayle's Bakery & Rosticceria, off of Bay Street as you drive down to the village. This place is absolutely amazing! Their food and desserts are unquestionably the best. There are often long lines and you have to take a number to be helped, but again, it is well worth it. In the hour we were there, they went through over 150 numbers, it is that popular. read more

I have to give Monarch Cove Inn 5 stars... This is where I got married last year and this place is just absolutely amazing! The setting is incredible, right on the cliff, overlooking the Monterrey Bay. They have quite a few different rooms you can book there and Lonna (the woman who runs Monarch Cove) was always very friendly and accommodating during my weekend there. She even offered to have my wife and I come back for a complimentary night whenever we want. If you walk just a few blocks north along the coast, you will run into downtown Capitola. There you will find all kinds of great restaurants as well as the famous Margaritaville. read more

Such a shame because we love the bakery they use (Kelly's in Santa CruZ) and it's one of the reasons we like to stay at Monarch. Coffee was not good at all. Wish they would blend a nice dark roast. We'd prefer fresh too. Tasted liked a mediocre coffee shop cup of coffee. please put cushions on Lounge chairs and update to comfy tables and chairs. Breakfast was so delicious especially the pastries and bagels. You can walk to The Village for shopping and dining. 3 exits away on Hwy 1 is Santa Cruz. I highly recommend for exploring the coast on Cliff Dr. Seeing surfers and of course the Boardwalk! I recommend Kiantis for pizza pasta in downtown SC. Margaritaville in Capitola for Mexican food. We had a wonderful two day escape at this lovely place, a stroke of luck as we found it on the internet and lucked into a perfect room. This is a B&B based on a 1895 house on the cliff overlooking Monterey Bay and the beaches to the southeast. Our room turned out to be a three room suite, The Rose Garden room, at a very reasonable price. We had a kitchen, bath living room and bedroom, all appropriately furnished. The bed was comfortable, and we also had a deck with table where we could sit and read or have coffee and look out onto the ocean/bay. Breakfast was served European style with pastries from a local bakery and fresh fruit and coffee, delivered to the room when requested. The hostess Summer was warm and welcoming, the grounds lovely and we enjoyed every minute there. Be aware that the main building/Inn is a very old house cut into nine rooms, some of which are single and not as big as ours. The stairwell to upstairs was located in a way that we could hear people coming and going, but it was not a problem as we understood that in an Inn of this sort we were close to other guests. (If they had been noisy drunks, which they were not, it would have been close!) It is about a mile walk down hill to town so we elected to drive. The Inn also has two separate pet-friendly cottages, and serves as a wedding venue. It has age, charm, comfort and hospitality, all at a good price. We will go back. read more

The first thing I noticed when I walked in the room was how pretty it looked. The canopy bed and couch were visually appealing. The second thing? The old moldy smell. My allergies kicked in so I tried to open a window then the curtain fell..and I barely touched it! (And a dead bee fell from it!) I spent time trying to put it back up..(couldn't ask for help- the front office was closed by then.) & because there weren't any screens in the windows, lots of bugs made their way into my room overnight. (I only had the window cracked open a little, too.) The bedroom itself was spacious and cute, but if you look closely at everything you can see how old everything is. I get it - it's a historic building. But the wear and tear was obvious. Breakfast was good. The bed was ok. The bathroom was huge and so was the shower/tub. It wasn't horrible, but I don't think I'd stay here again. read more

Regular hotels..vrbo's...airbnb's... and this is by far the best place I've stayed. I actually considered extending my visit just so I could enjoy this space for another day. The manager who greeted me and showed me to my room was delightful. The room was fantastic with a view to the Cypress trees, the Pacific Ocean and the Monarch Grove. It's about 130 years old with so much character...but all the amenities were there. Comfy bed. Awesome shower. Amazing breakfast delivered to my door right on time. We've stayed here twice (both times in the Victorian room). It's a cute little B&B and an easy walk to Capitola. The room is spacious and the bed is really comfortable. There are ocean rooms from the dining table in the room and the property is really nice to walk around and enjoy. Sadly there was only a single towel in our room when we arrived, so I had to go find someone for more. The breakfast was not bad, but also not the greatest I've ever had at a B&B. read more

Ansolutely gorgeous property! The room looked cute and the staff was nice. We arrive on a sunny warm afternoon. All the windows were open and there was a nice breeze in the room. However, even with the nice breeze there was a slight musty/mildewy odor, but not enough to bother me. However, when we closed a few windows as the day became cooler the smell got stronger. By morning, I was sneezing and my nose was running which how I react to mildew/moldy odors. Note that I didn't SEE mildew or mold, but it must be there somewhere as the smell was strong. As cute as the room and property is the carpets are pretty worn, yhe beds overly soft (old mattress) and the bed coverings could be refreshed. The tub and fixtures though clean were stained dingy. I love baths, but I didn't feel good about sitting in that tub so skipped the bath. A fresh finish in the tub. new tub fixtures, along with fresh caulking would go a long way to reshening up the room as well as getting to the source of the smell. I feel bad leaving any negative comments, but appreciate reading honest revoews before choosing a property. read more

Some friends recommended Monarch Cove Inn to me when I was looking for the perfect place to propose to my wife. When I called to make the reservation I explained my plan to the woman taking the reservation, and she was wonderful. I was trying to book our stay just a few weeks out from the weekend I wanted, not knowing that they book up almost a year in advance. She explained that the only room left was the Hideaway Suite: the one room with a bad view. Its windows face the parking lot or the small, fenced in yard leading up to the front door. To compensate for this, she said, they gave this room the only hot tub on the property. "Do you think that will work for your plan?" Oh, yes. That will do nicely. We had to drive through a residential neighborhood to get to Monarch Cove Inn, which was at the end of its road. No through traffic. No other businesses immediately nearby, and the grounds are perched atop cliffs with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay. Once I saw this incredible view, I knew it was where I wanted to ask the woman I love to marry me. I also knew that I was going to wait until the next day, and try to find a time when no-one else was wandering the grounds. I wish I remembered the breakfast, so I could tell you something meaningful. I was so damn nervous the morning I was going to propose that I couldn't eat a thing. Neither could M., since she had food poisoning from a Mexican restaurant in Capitola the night before. I proposed to her on the bluffs overlooking the ocean, and couldn't have asked for a better location for such a lasting memory. I understand why people choose to get married there. It is stunning. Although the property is off of the beaten path, it is convenient to Capitola & Santa Cruz. We spent lots of time in both while there, and still managed to make the most of Monarch Cove's incredible grounds (and our private hot tub). I'm sure our room was nice too, but all I remember is feeling sick in it while waiting for M. to finish getting ready with my knee bouncing and an as-yet unworn diamond engagement ring in my pocket. read more

Oh, Northern California.... Spent a weekend here recently, attending one of the most beautiful and casual weddings of all time. The inn -- located about 45 minutes from San Jose Airport -- is perched on some cliffs overlooking Monterey Bay. It's a beautiful, serene spot and it's worth noting that during the wedding it had a suspiciously herbal aroma that reminded one of Humboldt County. Here are some of the main pros of the Monarch Inn: * Whale watching from the backyard (I even saw a stingray!) * Hiking through the adjoining eucalyptus grove down to the beach * The proprietress could not be any nicer or less intrusive * Picture-perfect spot for a wedding * Walking into downtown Capitola and having a beer at the Paradise Beach Cafe Bottom line: Even though I got the last (and worst) room in the joint, I would recommend Monarch Cove Inn to anyone spending time in Capitola. It's a tiny slice of Eden, set in a true Cali beach town. read more

My sister had her wedding here a year ago, where I had the honor of giving her away. There several different cottages, and rooms available in the $200 per night range. It is a bed and breakfast hotel, but I have not had the food! There are just a handful of rooms, so you will have to book well in advance. Very nice surroundings, with lots of trees, gardens, and great scenery too. You are overlooking Monterey Bay, with the State Beach below you. It is a very small, out of the way place to just relax. A bit off the beaten path, you will have no problems unwinding here. Rumor has it that Al Capone used to stay here, and built secret tunnels for his escape, but that is all it is ... just a rumor. read more

We spent the night at Monarch Cove Inn Bed and Breakfast to welcome our 11th Wedding Anniversary today. We stayed at the Rose Garden Suite. This place is magical!!! We live in Elk Grove, CA. My husband proposed 13 years ago in Capitola so we wanted to celebrate it here. The accomodations are great and the views of the gardens and paths just breathtaking. Men you will surely impress your ladies. I know my husband did. A contiental breakfast is served in your room at your requested time. Just the perfect amount since you will probably explore Capitola if you are visiting. Or else you may want to use the fully equipped kitchen. The reason for the 4 stars is that the freezer was not completely cleaned out and the bathroom had several hair strands in different places when we first walked in. We are both nurses and that was a negative for us. Otherwise, we are already planning our next trip when the butterflies are abundant. Thank you for offering a nice reset from our everyday lives and making our anniversary more memorable. read more

My son and his wife chose the Monach Cove Inn for their wedding. Charming! The guests gazed at the ocean during the ceremony, moving over to the deck for the reception. Friends and family booked out the Inn Friday and Saturday night, so the whole place was ours for the weekend. We had the rehearsal dinner on the deck Friday night and had the rest of the evening to visit and relax both Friday and Saturday. The rooms are rustic and inviting with interesting focal points in different rooms. The deck lacks water and only had one extension cord for power, but it was manageable using the kitchen in the closest room. We put our coffee pot in that room but if it were rented to someone not in our party would have been challenging. Stairway to the upstairs rooms is narrow and you have to watch your head. Did feel a touch of "rush" by staff that we clear out Sunday morning, but they had another event (memorial service) coming in. There is limited parking so we had to remote park guests and shuttle them in. The service the Inn recommended did a great job for us. The view is inspiring and the grounds range from perfectly landscaped to natural habitat. The new tent is attractive and contains some of the ambient sound. The staff did a reasonably good job or taking care of needs but allowed us to feel like the whole Inn was "ours" for the weekend. Proximity to Capitola is a huge plus. read more

We didn't stay here, but attended a wedding here. What a beautiful property! The bridal party and family rented out the entire B&B so they had the run of the place for the entire wedding weekend. We were invited to stop by on the night before the wedding and got to see fireworks from New Brighton Beach down to Monterey. The inn is situated at the end of a residential street and overlooks the water with lots of trees and a beautiful deck. The wedding party did a great job decorating the place and they custom built a canopy for the main deck - hopefully the owners buy it off them because they can definitely use it as a step up service for future weddings. The layout was very nice - you enter on this gravel path with lots of greenery and there are areas for a welcome table near the fountain and you proceed to the lawn area that overlooks the water with trees spread perfectly for the ceremony. Next to that area is a raised deck for dining that overlooks the same views. Not sure who they used for catering but they made a great meal and the wedding coordinator did a fabulous job for the wedding party. If you're planning on getting married, you might want to check this place out. read more

This review is for the ocean view room. Room was a decent size with plenty of room to walk around and for your bags. The bed felt more like a full size than queen. Overall room was clean, and bathroom was ok. The breakfast was awesome and was delivered promptly each morning. The staff was some of the nicest, most helpful I've ever encountered. I bought the dinner and romance package, the staff made sure everything was perfect prior to arrival and also for dinner. Mary and Jacqueline really made sure our stay was enjoyable. Walking distance to the village was about 10 minutes which had a bunch of restaurants and beach. This was helpful since parking in that area seem limited during the daytime. At night time the trail along the ocean is a little dark to/from the village, and there is also a steep stairway to go down. Will be back again. read more

We found Monarch Cove on Living Social while looking for a get away to complete our trip to the SF Bay Area. It turned out to be much better than expected. The grounds were gorgeous and very well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, simple and cozy. I believe the beds were memory foam and very comfortable. If weather permits do your self a favor and open the windows to take in the smell of eucalyptus and sounds of the bay. We got to choose the time our breakfast was delivered. It consisted of fruit, yogurt, pastries, bagels, muffins, juice and coffee. Since the food wasn't hot we could leisurely sit on the deck overlooking Monterey Bay and not worry about our food getting cold. Downtown Capitola was within walking distance with great restaurants and shops with local flavor. This is a fabulous place for a quiet getaway. read more

Overall love the inn for its location - at the end of a quiet residential street. Room was comfortable and the grounds are fabulous, nicely appointed on the bay cliff. Seeing the sunrise from our room was awesome. Parking is open/free. Within a 10 minute walk/hike you can reach New Brighton beach (clean beach with bathrooms), or take the super scenic walk to the cute little village. Cons: We had a few booking issues (we had a promotional certificate). The Lilac room was on the small side but it did accommodate a queen bed, small TV, electric fireplace, table and 2 chairs, small fridge and microwave. The large armoire was a bit too big for the space and accessing it. Also because it's an old building there really was only 1 outlet that we could access and use. The bathroom was adequate but the shower water was quite slow to respond, when you adjusted the water hotter or colder it would take maybe 30 seconds to register the change. That's not fun in a shower! The (silk) sheets and towels could be updated. We had a towel with a corner tore off. You share a patio (with table and chairs) with the Ocean View Room. They deliver breakfast on a tray to your room at the time you choose. Breakfast was a coffee carafe, orange juice, a few warmed pastries/bagel, cut fruit in a cup, and yogurts. Staff is friendly. We met the adorable little dog named Bentley who was there with the grounds crew. Noisy: It wasn't the quietest room. Because it's old we could hear people, tv's, floors creaking, etc) to the side and above us. The cottages looked larger but they are right next to the parking lot and may not seem as secluded as you might like if you're thinking about it. Check out Gayle's Bakery (they have deli cooked food and all types of desserts. Try the Florentines, so delicious!) Love the inn even though there is some updating they could do - we will stay again. read more

The Ocean View room was just what the doctor ordered for a secluded Sunday night retreat. We literally had the entire place to ourselves as the wedding party that was there on Saturday had vacated to parts unknown. I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't want to stay: perched on a cliff between Capitola & New Brighton, roaring surf below, barking sea lions, manicured grass beneath bare feet, chilled complimentary bottle of refreshing rose... it doesn't get much better. Lonna is the quintessential Innkeeper straight from central casting: gracious, kind, accommodating and smiling (even when she has to chase down a blow dryer in her 11th hour). The room was quaint, cozy and comfortable with a four post bed that you don't want to get out of, a "roaring" fireplace [ ;-) ], and the worlds best smelling soap. The cons are few: not enough accoutrement's for coffee, a nonadjustable shower-head, and nocturnal critters doing their thing in the ceiling/wall right above the bed (a bit disconcerting... but come on, it's an old house!) All in all, a wonderful, restorative night of rekindling ancient flames that had long ago been extinguished. I can't imaging a more perfect setting for a more perfect experience. This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The Monarch Cove Inn is centrally located near Capitola Village. It is a short walk away from the beach and adjoining shops (like a ten minute walk). The view is breathtaking from all angles. We stayed in the Ocean View room, and from our bed, we could see the shimmering blue Pacific Ocean to greet us as we awakened. We could hear our sea lion friends playfully sea-lioning in the distance. It made for an adorable alarm clock. The staff greeted us warmly upon arrival and made sure that our stay was comfortable each day. The breakfast was delivered promptly according to the time we requested. It was a light breakfast of juice, coffee, yogurt, assorted pastries, fruit, and jam. The Ocean View room had a canopy bed. We enjoyed it so much, we are now looking for our own canopy bed to recreate the Disney fairy-tale atmosphere! read more

Although the surrounding area of the Inn and views were breathtaking, the rooms seriously needed an updating. I mean I love shabby chic, but this was drabby bleak. Slap on a coat of paint, get some new linens and curtains, get rid of those stained throw pillows and a new carpet perhaps, then you would get your money's worth. Wouldn't return unless they spruce it up. I did bring it to the attention of the Inn manager, and she was appropriately horrified. Really took it personally, and comped us one night. That took some of the disappointment away, and she reassured us they were working on the inside of the inn. I may give them a second shot....next year. read more

I'm so excited... And I just can't hide it.... I'm about to lose control, and I think I like it!!! James and I booked Monarch Cove Inn for our wedding next year! It is beautiful, secluded (yet accessible), and Lonna (the site manager) is awesome. She was friendly and kind and genuinely excited when we told her about our "unique" wedding plans. We booked this place for our wedding and my hairstylist called it a hidden gem. I mean, this place is GORGEOUS! It had the stunning ocean view and the B&B itself has a charming vintage vibe (although if you like modern sleek, this won't work for you). The Fiance wanted ocean view, I wanted something pretty and easy for weddings. We were both super pleased. Besides feeling like we're in a magical land of romance, the ladies working at the Monarch Cove Inn were incredibly friendly and easy to work with. We hired Krista as our Day-of Coordinator and she was on top of everything. Our wedding was amazing and didn't have a single hitch (or none that I knew of anyways). The husband and I will be coming back to celebrate our anniversaries at this amazing place. I recommend getting a room with an ocean view and checking out the quaint little downtown for dinner. read more

Really nice B&B at the end of El Salto in Depot Hill. We had a view of the ocean from our room. The grounds are well taken care of and the rooms are cute. They offer a light breakfast in the morning delivered to your room. It was nice sitting on our porch having coffee in the brisk morning looking at the water. We will definitely be back. read more

Super cute place to stay! My hubby and I went there for an overnight stay as a mini getaway and our room was super spacious and comfortable. It felt more like a mini suite/apartment studio than a hotel room, which I suppose is the norm for a B&B. The furnishings were outdate, as other guests have stated, but everything was very comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here! read more
