Breakfast of fruit, pastries, and juice

Enjoyed our stay in the Rose Garden Room. The grounds and the view of the water are great. There are lots of seating areas on, but all of the Adirondack chairs were taken by other people, so unfortunately there is a bit of competition for the spaces and resources. The only other issue is that, especially due to being an older building, the rooms are not completely quiet... and this is especially true if you are in a room under one of the upstairs rooms. The footsteps, children running around, etc. can definitely be heard. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

Cute, quaint B&B lover looking New Brighton Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful well maintained grounds. Very nice workers. Our room, the butterfly, had all the necessities but could use some updating. The TV, linens and some furniture were a bit dated. The TV, while small, has Spectrum cable with Showtime. The internet was blazing fast. The breakfast is served to your room. I felt sorry for the lady that brought it because the tray was HEAVY. It had a carafe of coffee, 2 OJs, 2 large fruit cups, and a tray of pasties. Real cutlery, plate and cups, no plastic. The fruit cups had fresh watermelon, bananas, strawberries, cantaloupe and more. Very reasonable price. Despite its quirks, would definitely stay here again.

Visited with my partner during Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and we truly had the best time and wish we extended our stay! Romantic, quaint, quiet, inspiring and calming. We immediately were impressed by the property - towering eucalyptus trees wrapped in ivy, monarch butterflies everywhere, large deck with adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean (just bring a bottle of wine & enjoy!!), blooming flowers surround the most quintessential Victorian cottages, bald eagles circling above and clear ocean views. Katrina and her long haired dachshund gave us an incredibly lovely tour of the property (equip with the history of the space + ownership) before showing us to our room. The room was comfortable, adorable and clean and had an ocean view (to our surprise!!). Every morning, the hotel staff brought a platter of breakfast to our room, featuring local pastries, a carafe of coffee, fresh cut fruit and orange juice. Overall, I we felt this place was so magical and are already planning our next trip back!! We also are looking at their wedding offerings

    Breakfast!

We loved our stay here! The space is so beautiful, peaceful, and charming. Super close to downtown capitola area, walking distance. We stayed in the rose garden suite, and I could stare out at that view forever. You can hear the movement upstairs pretty easily but it wasn't too bad. Bed was super comfy, breakfast pastries and coffee delivered to your door the following morning! We will be back for sure.

Amazing location right on the ocean! Super cuuute old-time house with so much charm on beautiful grounds. A nice walk through the neighborhood and alongside the ocean to capitola village.

What a cute B&B! We stayed here for my husband's bday and we enjoyed it so much! We loved it! The grounds are beautiful, plants, fountains, the beach, free breakfast, and scenic views. We stayed in the Rose Garden Suite and it was lovely. There was a kitchen with a microwave, a fridge, and they had kitchen supplies and cookware. No phone in the room but it was no big deal. The TV was a flat screen and it was perfectly situated in the bedroom. They bring breakfast at 09:00am (they have to enter your room so make sure you don't put the "do not disturb" sign on otherwise you'd miss your breakfast!) Customer service was great and the place was clean!

My husband surprised me with a birthday weekend getaway here. We stayed in the Holiday House because we brought our pup. We had SUCH a good time! Our dog did too the enclosed backyard was fabulous for a pet friendly room. It was a quiet weekend and the service was excellent. I am already looking at dates for next year.

What a hidden little gem!! The grounds are beautiful, so many spots to sit and look down at the ocean, plus a little nestled monarch sanctuary! About a 10 minute easy walk to downtown Capitola, breakfast delivered to your room in the morning, and dog friendly! We will definitely be going back to explore some of the other rooms. We stayed in the Monarch room which was a great size, comfortable, nice firm bed, great soaking tub,...but keep in mind the rooms can get chilly but they provide little heaters. So glad we found this place!

Chef Andrea, who is a professor of the culinary school, also offers a lot of options to customize the menu. For example, we wanted to incorporate chestnuts and dates into our menu. We had this Korean traditional ceremony where our parents gave us blessings with chestnuts and dates. Chef Andrea customized hors d'oeuvre to be roasted chestnut crostini. We also had desserts with them - chocolate chestnut cakes & a family-recipe date bar. It was awesome. Many people complimented our food, and it made me very happy because food is such an important factor in our lives (I am Korean and we live in NYC - food is all we care about haha). Students of culinary school prepared and served our food - it was such an honor to have those enthusiasm and joy on our big day. The venue comes with the day of coordinator - Chrissy. An Unforgettable Evening at "Whiskey on the Water"…read more The "Whiskey on the Water" dinner series at Seascape Beach Resort is an absolute masterclass in hospitality. Jesse Scott and his team have created a hosting experience that rivals some of the finest dining events I've ever attended. Perched atop the Seascape bluff overlooking Monterey Bay, the setting is simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset over the Pacific creates the perfect backdrop for an elegant evening. What truly sets this event apart, however, is the exceptional service. Every member of the staff was attentive, polished, and genuinely invested in making the experience memorable. Their attention to detail rivaled--and in many cases exceeded--that of many five-star establishments. The food and whiskey pairings were outstanding. Chef Jae Moon delivered an exceptional menu that paired beautifully with an incredible selection of bourbons, including several rare expressions that even seasoned collectors don't often have the opportunity to enjoy. The educational component elevated the evening even further. The Suntory representative shared fascinating history and insights with the perfect balance of expertise, personality, and humor, making each tasting both informative and entertaining. From the spectacular setting and world-class hospitality to the remarkable food and exceptional spirits, every detail was thoughtfully executed. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend attending one--or several--of these upcoming dinners. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish, and I can't wait for the next one. It had been many years since my last visit, and my nephew had most recently visited in December, so our prior experiences were quite varied. The restaurant's location and grounds are beautiful, and the food was good overall. Here are some specific highlights and areas for improvement: Upsides: We increased our party size from four to five earlier in the day, and the restaurant was able to accommodate the change. We were seated in the Greenhouse Room, which was lovely and offered great views. The appetizers and cocktails were very good. The prime rib and pork chop were particularly excellent, and I would definitely order either again. Downsides: The service left a lot to be desired. Our reservation was for 6:30 p.m., but we weren't seated until well after 7:00 p.m. Once seated, we waited about 20 minutes before our server came to the table. After taking our drink orders, were immediately asked if we were ready to order our entrées.  My wife and daughters ordered the Steak au Poivre. The steaks were under-seasoned and were not cooked to the requested temperatures. There seemed to be more emphasis on achieving prominent grill marks than developing a proper crust. Additionally, a staff member cleared my nephew's plate before he had finished eating. He's younger and didn't feel comfortable speaking up at the time, but he later told us he was still working on his meal. Given that this is not an inexpensive restaurant, I expected a higher level of service and more attentive staff training. That said, even with these shortcomings, I will definitely return. The restaurant itself and the surrounding grounds are truly remarkable and worth a visit on their own. I trust the food and service issues we experienced were outliers. Even great restaurants have an off night.

She has an incredible eye for design and was instrumental in creating a beautiful setting that matched our vision at both the ceremony and the reception. One of my favorite things about LJ is that she always shared her opinion when asked, and when she disagreed or thought another option may be better than the direction we were headed, she'd respectfully share her point of view and get us back on track -- but I always felt like she respected what we wanted and supported it. All the vendors she recommended were AMAZING. She was straightforward with cost and how vendors stacked up against the competition. Even though she had relationships with many people in the industry, I always felt like she had our best interest in mind and represented us incredibly accurately and well. We paid extra for her to serve as point person for several shuttle buses. This was well worth it in that LJ created and delivered the complicated schedule as well as communicated with the drivers on the big day. What a load off! LJ provided a range of suggestions to make sure we understood our options (for example, for the Groom's Cake she suggested everything from an elaborate cake from a local artisanal bakery to Safeway and everything in between!), but when we just wanted her to handle something and not be weighed down by choices, she executed things flawlessly (such as delivering our welcome bags all over the Monterey Peninsula the day before the wedding!). On the day of, we had nothing to worry about -- everything that was within her control turned out flawlessly. She also navigated tricky situations with our on-site venue contact, who was a bit challenging to work with, and did a great job at managing her to make sure we had the day we envisioned. I was constantly impressed by her positive and calming attitude, grounding presence, creative vision and her ability to manage complex and emotionally charged situations. She was patient and understanding when we had last-minute changes and always snapped into action when we needed her to. I would definitely recommend LJ as a wedding planner/day-of coordinator! This property markets itself as an upscale, high-end hotel, but the service and upkeep are not even close to that standard. Here is a breakdown of the issues we encountered: 1. Check-In Chaos: I booked two rooms under my account, but front desk staff initially couldn't find the second reservation. They eventually realized they had put it under a guest's name instead of mine, despite me being the main booker and paying guest. 2. Zero Elite Recognition: Despite my loyalty status, there was absolutely no recognition at check-in--not even the basic gesture of complimentary bottled water. 3. Abysmal Housekeeping & Room Issues: Our room was poorly stocked; there was no tissue when we arrived, and the shower completely lacked conditioner. To make matters worse, the shower water pressure was so weak it was almost impossible to even wash my hair. 4. Filthy Pool & Jacuzzi Area: We went down around 9:00 AM, expecting a clean facility, but the pool area and jacuzzi were filthy. Dirty towels were strewn everywhere, there were no fresh ones available, and I had to call staff from my phone just to get clean towels brought out. 5. Poor Property Upkeep: The parking lot is incredibly small and tight. Worse, there were dog messes left uncleaned around the property grounds. 6. No Value: For a hotel positioning itself as a premium location, they do not offer complimentary breakfast, yet fail to deliver the basic amenities or service to justify the price tag. At that point, I was just completely done. I expected a seamless, high-quality stay, but instead encountered a total lack of attention to detail and sub-par service. I will not be returning to this property and hope management addresses these glaring issues immediately.
