Having lost my father the end of 2024, my husband and I decided to contact Neptune in Arvada. My brother was cared for by them in 2019 when he passed, but my Dad handled those responsibilities back then. This time we had the real pleasure of working with Larry, and he was absolutely wonderful. He was patient, and believe me, the patience was needed. Several clarifications, corrections, and re-dos from my end, and he was always kind and considerate. They have a beautiful selection of urns and specialized containers in the office, and those are works of art. In the end we selected one of the standard Cherry wood boxes that came included in the price (cherry or natural), and even that is a gorgeous container, well-finished and turned. AND, as my dad was a Veteran, the American flag was also presented in an absolutely beautiful wooden box (matches the Cherry wood perfectly), with a wood and beveled glass lid. Do not do business with the Neptune Society if you live in metro Denver. I was strong armed into a contract and then lied to about it. I was specifically told that an add on service could be revoked after the contract was paid in full, otherwise I would not have agreed to it. The amount is $499, not a small amount of money. No one could give a straight answer at first and gave ridiculous excuses about people on vacation; not my problem. They don't run an ethical business and prey on people who are stressed at trying to prepare for their own death. We are so pleased with the support we received when my mother passed. In the difficult time immediately after she passed, it was a great relief and comfort to know that we did not have to worry about anything (most specifically, having her removed from her home). I did not own this property while he was alive nor live in this state. Very very very bad marketing with zero respect for loved ones. When I called they could not tell me how they got his name ... would NEVER give them a dime. Check your morals and marketing, Neptune Society. ** in response to your response: I called and was not given the option to remove myself. It was also extremely concerning that the person who answered your phone on the mailer sent could not tell me how my or my deceased brother's info was used in your horrible marketing. I had to leave a message and would be "called back." Interesting you were able to respond to a Yelp review before someone answering your business' phone number could explain how this happened. Are your preying on the vulnerable by purposely addressing mail to deceased loved ones? My Mother pre-arranged her cremation 6 years ago at a Neptune Society facility in southern California and then moved to Denver. When she passed away the medical staff at her assisted living facility called the nearest Neptune in Arvada. It was tall taken care of. When my husband suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, I called the Arvada site and one of there staff met me at the hospital here and I paid for their services just 4 hours before he died. He was in hospice during his last days, and although we were prepared, it was still a difficult situation. I called Neptune after he passed & can't say enough about how supportive & kind they were during this time; something you really need during such an emotional time. The Neptune Society staff provided courteous and conscientious support with all the sensitive issues related to our family member's passing. We needed to arrange for payment from an independent Neptune Society in California to the local Neptune Society in Arvada. Also needed to coordinate obtaining a burial permit in California and scheduling a ceremony at a California military cemetery. The staff in Arvada took care of those details, which was a load off our shoulders. We identified a correction that needed to be made to our initial invoice, and the staff promptly made the correction. In the recent loss of my Mother, it was a blessing that my parents had already prearranged everything through Neptune Society. At the hardest time of my life to tell a hospital which mortuary to call... the decision had already been made. All I did was provide a phone number to the hospital. I did not have to think or worry about who to contact or what to do. Neptune Society is open 24 hours a day, so needing to have that call handled at 1:30AM was not an issue. They were courteous, prompt, helpful and sympathetic to our situation. We worked with James, and he was thorough, kind and helpful. Are you kidding me, I all most throw up right there in my lap ! this was a pre paid package that came with an urn (a cheap one at that) it was dropped off two weeks ago when I signed all the paper work.... Think about that... Two weeks...This whole ordeal has left me traumatized, these people could careless. Two weeks for a direct cremation at a cost of 2100.00 and one traumatized family. My mother had a pre-paid contract with Neptune Society in another state. The service in my state, where she had moved, was everything and more than I could have hoped for. The staff at the office were kind. They never tried to sell me more than my mom had agree to. She had the urn at her home (which is really a nice wooden box).
