Heflebower took excellent care of my Mother last month. She passed away in Texas, after turning 100 years old. Amy and the staff kept me informed after she arrived in Colorado. They made any necessary adjustments of my Mom after she arrived, and they were all so compassionate, caring, respectful and helpful. They were exceptionally helpful with recommendations for a restaurant for our family to go to after the burial. Everything went well and smoothly. My father-in-law recently passed away. He was residing in Highlands Ranch when he died, and all of his family resided out of State. In the midst of tragedy, there are many tears, but I am grateful that some of my tears in the midst of my own tragedy were because of the kindness of the owners of this business. I'm not sure I ever thought I would be writing a Yelp review for a mortuary. I suppose it is to be expected that even a basic level of kindness and dignity is part and parcel of a mortician's job. but that's precisely what caused me to write this review. I hesitate to describe the situation which lead me to contact Mike Heflebower, but it was only after finding that the profit motives of other mortuaries in town only created a facade of care and dignity. In the midst of a tragedy, it was impossible to escape the feeling that other services in town were eager to handily profit from my diminished processing capability, and knew that their competitors would hold the line, too. Eventually, they knew I would break down. But the administrators at the hospital knew that mike was the person to call. I reached out to them (Rose Medical Center - also amazing people and the subject of my next review) and they didn't hesitate to refer me to Mike because they knew I had been through enough. Without Mike, I would have still had to use one of the other services, but I would have lost much faith in the goodness of humanity. Because of Mike, I know that there are for-profit businesses in the mortuary industry which do well by doing good. And I sincerely hope that this review causes Mike, Dennis, and the rest of the team at Heflebower to flourish. read more

All things happen for a reason and finding Mike two years ago for my Mother-in-Law made me realize how true this is. After the wonderful care he gave us and respect he showed to us taking care of Ruth, we knew we'd found the right person and right place. Within a year, we had the need for his services for my Husband's Aunt and again, nothing but greatness. Recently, my Aunt took a turn for the worse and ended up passing away. My Mom was set on using Crown Hill because it was "convenient" and it was "what she knew" but I convinced her to talk with Mike. She agreed and was beyond pleased with how he handled her questions, treated her with kindness and respect and honored my Aunt. He is truly a nice man who is fair and trustworthy.
