I have never had a bad experience here. I used to work down the street from Mondelli's and would stop on my way home to get a treat all the time. The service is always super friendly and they are patient when I'm being indecisive. The bakery itself isn't fancy inside but it doesn't need to be - the treats speak for themselves. We've gotten everything from a cake for Easter to cookies for Halloween and NYE and it is all amazing. Seriously, next time you want a sweet treat, stop by and get a petit four or some cake...or anything, honestly. It's all good! read more

I've patronized this bakery for decades! They maybe family owned/operated but they do a great job. My family loves their butter buscuits (rolls), cannolis in particular. Even when i worked for a competitor I still bought these items from Mondellis. So the quality is top notch. The service is great! They accomodate my off the wall requests. Now as far as a bake shop goes it's not much to look at, but it's clean and cozy. No frills! i dont mind though. I'll continue to shop there because of the quality all the way around! read more

Wow!! There is no way to describe just how moist, delicious, and enchanting their treats are. We stopped at a nearby store and decided we should check it out. It's a small unassuming place from the outside. Inside, you're greeted with friendly faces and two large bakery glass cases full of so many beautifully decorated goodies... your mouth immediately waters as your eyes bounce back and forth because your mind can't decide what you want to eat. There's lots of varieties of cookies from chocolate chip, sugar cookies, and lots with icing decorations like UK, crowns, emojis and much more. There's bon bons, turnovers, cupcakes, brownies, muffins, petit fours, and so much more!!! They also make intricately decorated cakes and other personalized orders. We grabbed a UK sugar cookie, a massive cookie sandwich, and a petit four. The petit four was mine and by far the best choice of the three we bought. Subtle taste of lemon in the icing glaze, the most moist cake I've ever eaten, and a buttercream flower on top. It was fairly larger than any petit four I'd ever eaten, so that was a plus!! It was so soft and deliciou, I'll admit I was a little sad that I had finished it so quickly. We ate so quickly we only got one picture of the cookie sandwich. Sorry not sorry. read more

This place has been around for years!! It's typically where my family get their cakes and cookies for birthdays and various other familial events. Today I had the dubious privilege of having a nice strawberry birthday cake with butter cream white icing with blue trimming. While it was good, it wasn't as moist as some of the other cakes I've had from there. I'm sure they all can't be. RUN AWAY!! I called weeks ahead to make an appointment for tasting and expressed what we were looking for. On the day they were unprepared - no tasting flavors, no list of anything including flavors, forgot everything we had requested, tried to reschedule that morning and criticized me for the date of the appointment!!! I told the Lady I was worried if she couldn't remember my appointment, she may forget or try to reschedule my Wedding Cake. She screamed and continued yelling as I was walking out the door. I found Mondelli's about a year ago and they became my favorite Lexington bakery. Everything is so fresh and made from scratch. It's not a convenient location for me, but every once in awhile I have to make the trek to get some goodies. I highly recommend the fruit turnovers, the petit fours, the bon bons and the French brownies. It's not a fancy place, but I have yet to try anything I didn't like. I moved to Lexington 2 months ago. Ive moved 30 times in 57 years and where ever I've lived I've always looked for a good bakery. I googled "best bakery's in Lexington and Mondelli's popped up. I went to their website and looked at the many, many pictures of all the beautiful cakes, cookies and other delicious treats, but it was the pictures of the bon-bon's that caught my eye. A very moist dark chocolate cake with a large dollop of buttercream icing on top them drenched in cooked chocolate icing. I'd never seen or heard of them before. What I was actually looking for was petit fours. I couldn't get these off of my mind. I knew I had to taste them so I went to their bakery yesterday and oh my....they did not disappoint! They even excelled what I thought they would taste like. Delicious, mouth watering, melt in your mouth, doesn't describe how good they taste. Heavenly or makes your taste buds explode would probably come close....both of them are just that good! Throughout my life I always had the same one favorite bakery that is in Dothan, AL and no other bakery's ever came close, but as of today, Mondelli's surpassed them! It's just a bonus that they are only 2.5 miles from my home. I don't know if that's a good thing or not! I would drive an hour to get buy from them. There is no need for me to even try other bakery's in Lexington. Mondelli's is my favorite bakery out of 57 years! read more
