Came here through a Groupon and it was one of the best massages I've had in Chicago. It's a super clean facility, all the bed sheets and blankets they use were all clean. The mattresses had warmers which was a nice touch that we weren't lying down to a cold massage bed. This massage is definitely not for the feint of heart. I asked for the pressure to be hard for the massage because I'm always used to people using less pressure than I want, but this one was borderline painful but exactly what I needed to get the knots out of my neck and shoulders. The massage therapist used her arm like a rolling pin and relentlessly kept kneading. They also use a technique where they're doing a plank using your butt which was a little unique but still felt good. Everyone here was super polite and not really talkative. Pleasantly surprised that both our therapists were Mongolian, which connected the dots for me as to why the name of the business. I haven't met many Mongolian folks in my life. They do tend to use a lot of oil during their massage, so forewarning about that before you go. You'll leave with a little oil residue on your skin. Went for a couples massage. I found this place on Groupon. I guess Mongolian massage means HARD. They went deep! I can usually take a hard deep tissue massage but I was 5 seconds from telling him to stop! My recommendation is to not say you want a hard massage. Lilly is my go-to, she's incredible, but honestly, everyone here is solid. The place is super clean, the front desk is friendly, and they make you feel comfortable from the second you walk in. Absolutely worth the hype and then some! I had first heard about this establishment driving past the original located in Skokie. After doing much research, these guys seemed to be the most affordable for a one hour couples massage. I was in luck waiting a few months as they recently opened their Portage Park location (it's in Jefferson Park but close enough to be considered PP) where they offered a discounted price for couples massage as their new location special. I was able to conveniently book an appointment early evening right before and snagged their first available morning appt for the next day. You can tell they are getting busier with this deal as there were two couples in the waiting area upon us leaving. So this might not always be the case for everyone. Free street parking along Lawrence if you can snag a spot! Service was friendly, the establishment was beyond clean and recently updated. It's very unassuming from the outside but it's very spacious and quite nice and modern on the inside. A major kudos from start to finish for our two therapists. They constantly checked in on us for pressure and asked how we were doing throughout. I was in love with the massage bed and the headrest was the most comfortable I had ever experienced while getting a massage. As I got more comfortable and relaxed, my face sunk in deeper with the smell of clean sheets and I pretty much fell asleep at some points. My husband and I tried the Groupon deal for 60 min deep tissues. The place is no frills but very clean. I asked for medium pressure but that really depends on each masseuse so I was prepared for pain - which I wanted, and I got. My masseuse got on top of my back and at one point pulled my underwear down so I was in pain and ass out. I wasn't prepared for that lol. I walked out of there wobbly (from releasing toxins) but super relaxed. The Groupon deal is solid so I immediately bought us another. This such a hole in a wall place would do you wonder. I had been looking for lymphatic drainage massage for a long while only to decide to expand my research and found this place. This is it. Regular massage (deep tissue, Swedish, etc) feels great but the effect lasts only for a few days for me but their lymphatic drainage one lasted for a good few weeks. I felt energized and the sense of vitality was back. The office is nice and clean but may not be fancy enough for some while it didn't make me feel any different about their ambience. I'd highly recommend to try out that to see if that is what you may be looking for so you will feel refreshed for a while. read more

My husband and I came here for a couples massage, and the ambiance is nice, nothing too fancy. We checked in downstairs, and were led upstairs for the massage area. My husband loved his massage, and the lady working on him was able to point out some problem areas that he needed to work on in regards to massaging and stretching. The girl working on me was good, and was definitely giving deep tissue. She asked me a few times if it was too hard, but I let her know it was fine. The problem for me was when we flipped over to our backs. She was working on my shoulders, and out of nowhere gave me a hard sternal rub. Basically, pressed and rubbed VERY hard on the center bone of my chest that connects the ribs. I said "ow", and she stopped, but DAMN it really hurt! I also have costochondritis, so it caused some inflammation that didn't go away for a few days. I have NO idea why she did it, and for me that's what made it so I won't go back. I am a nurse, and rubbing someone's sternum is something you do to elicit a pain response when someone is passed out.... I can, in no way, shape, or form see the benefits of performing it during a massage. I've had lots of massages, and have never had anyone do this to me before. They took cash or card. One of the best massages we have had. Saw the Lab from the road on the way home and thought it may be worth looking into. Grand opening special online looked good so I surprised my wife with a couples massage for 90 mins. Checked in and after a few mins was offered a water and said hello to a few of the employees as they passed. Nice, friendly and all very professional. We were taken upstairs to our room and prepped for our massage. Warm tables quiet music, all the things you expect from a massage experience. The 99 mins was wonderfully pleasant relaxing and oh so good. My therapist checked in a few times to make sure the pressure was to my liking. Hot stones were used and an ear massage was done which I never had done before. Quite nice. I never heard a peep from my wife which worried me but afterwards she immediately said we need to book again because it was one of her favorite massages. We have a monthly membership at a massage chain, which is nice and convenient, but the level of quality at Massage Lab will make me cancel my membership and become a regular. read more

STAY AWAY! Intense pressure and improper cupping application by therapist resulted in OPEN SORES AND WOUNDS on my boyfriend's skin. The pain was so excruciating that we had to go to the doctor. This business REFUSED us a basic refund and just said they have "liability insurance". The cups weren't properly sanitized with can lead to a serious infection. I booked my intro hour massage - I called, they told me they would call me back with availability. They texted me (totally fine, preferred, honestly) and I was able to secure a 7pm spot. When I arrived, the door was locked, and I waited a few minutes before someone saw me through the window to let me in. Not a big deal. The space is clean and modern, and the room was quiet. The person who led me to the room instructed me to disrobe and lay face down on the table under the blanket, then the massage therapist came in. She asked what pressure I liked, and what my problem areas and then she got to work. It was intense - if you're looking for relaxation, definitely say you like light pressure. I got a deep tissue massage, basically, with hot stones, hot pack on my back, the works. I have some sore spots due to old injuries and working on a stupid computer all day, and she found them without me telling her. Overall, the massage was good - I walked out feeling much better. Next time I'll ask for a lighter pressure so I can truly relax a bit, but otherwise, it's worth the $$. The only other "complaint" was that the hookah place next store must have been going because when I walked out of the room, I got hit in the face with a very strong...herbal smell. Just jarring after a massage. I wish them nothing but the best -apparently I have very "hot" calf and foot muscles so I will likely be back for that sooner than later read more

I'm honestly so sad that my experience was nothing what I thought it was going to be. I NEVER leave reviews like this. I don't leave reviews at all but this was really disappointing. I'm unemployed and a mother so I was gifted this. I really needed to relax. What was purchased was 120 minutes of either deep tissue or Swedish massage which was mentioned in the advertisement. I've had a Swedish massage which is what I was planning on getting when I got there. Also the post mentioned that you get a complimentary add on. There were 4 options online, I never got to choice so hot stones were used on me when I never even picked that. I really wanted the aromatherapy. Anyways, long story short the massage was a deep tissue & it was the most intense massage I've ever experienced. I was never asked anything beforehand. I was just asked my name , I tried showing the man the Groupon and then I was walked to the room to take my clothes off & that's when a women came in. She asked me what strength I wanted I said medium. Not realizing what I was getting myself into. I was almost yelling but definitely uncomfortable. She said she's going to go soft & I said yes please. She never went soft. It hurt so unbelievably bad. I have bruises all over my body. I felt SO dizzy about 30 minutes after the massage. I have no idea what I experienced because I've never had a massage like that. I usually feel so good & relaxed & I sleep like a baby. Why did I wake up feeling worst then I did when I walked in there? Is that what a deep tissue massage is?! I have pain with my epidural spot is & when she got to that spot I asked her not there & she would stop but still make her way there. With all this being said I still tipped 18% of the original price. I know it's also my fault for not speaking up.
