4/2023 - Unprofessional & Falsehoods. Cabinet Designer Mgr Tom from the very beginning said that he could work wonders "cabinets of every color, of every material, of every model" and he can make anything work. All False. In the end he had none of it - it was a total waste of time his and mine. Tom didn't even return my call after we treked to his office. Unfathomable that Monica Cabinets can stay in business operating this way. read more

Contractors, of course, are notorious for their unreliability, so we've always approached our home remodel projects with a certain amount of dread. Then, we found these guys. We've used Monica twice, in two different homes, and I have to say they are the nicest bunch we've ever had do work around the house. Both projects involved stone installation, and one was a fairly large and unique application. They were friendly, cooperative, timely, thorough, neat and - to give them their due - incredibly patient with a difficult client, (me), who kept changing his mind on color and pattern. They worked well with us to try different techniques, etc., without the slightest irritation. Their work was very high quality and the final result looks spectacular - just the way we envisioned it. BUYER BEWARE. I bought cabinets from Monica Cabinets. I was told they were top of the line. I paid top dollar. The cabinets arrived way past their delivery date. The tone of each drawer front and cabinet door front varies significantly. The drawers and doors are not grain matched. The woman, Tami, who runs the business said she saw nothing wrong and told me I needed to pay the balance by end of the day or she would lien my property. Eventually the cabinet manufacturer's rep saw the cabinets and said approximately 30-40% of the faces needed to be re-done just so the tone matches. Nothing could be done about the grains matching from drawer to drawer. Tami said she wouldn't fix the problem unless I paid most of the remaining balance. Tami is a bully. She thinks she can call customer names and threaten in order to get her way. She is void of any customer service skills. Monica Cabinets does not sell top of the line cabinets. They are mass produced cabinets, thus the the tone and grains are off. Stay away from Monica Cabinets! read more

I needed a countertop to complete my small bathroom remodel. I got a few quotes from other local stone places and many of them didn't fabricate in-house so I would have had to call a different person to install. Monica Tile does everything onsite so it saves you an extra step. I picked out a Quartz remnant and it was installed quickly and without any hassles. The tile looks great and the quality is top-notch, but the process was AWESOME. This was the easiest renovation I have ever even heard of. They came highly recommended, did all the heavy lifting and finished on time with nothing out of place. From the front office to the team who re-tiled our entire two-bedroom condo, they were easy to work with and responsive. Here's the kicker - we never even met them. It's our vacation place and (given the recommendations) we mailed our key, got one phone call with a handful of questions for us, got the bid and then it was a total of three phone calls and seven texts. Stopped in on Thursday, 2/13. Spoke with a woman there, gave her all the specifics...it's a very simple project...including phone number and email address. She said I'd get a quote from her on Friday...."probably towards the end of the day because I'm so busy". I even sent her an email on Friday with an additional piece of information. It's now Weds....not a word from them. No phone call, no email, not a peep. No excuse of "lost email address" because I had sent her an email. So, in my opinion, NOT RELIABLE. Andy, Jeremy and Augustine, especially, are a qualitative team of professionals. They installed my travertine stone after a recent flooding destroyed my Pergo laminate. The work was done as scheduled and promised and both Andy and Jeremy supervised and jumped into the process as needed. Augustine, the stone installer, was a master craftsman who set-out the pattern in an artistic and most pleasant manner and the final product is lovely and a true work of art. Unorganized and very poor follow-through. Got our kitchen done and it looks good, but it was a struggle to work with this company. They put their best "foot forward" when bidding and being awarded the job, but that was where the customer service ended. Unfortunately there is not a zero star rating as a choice, as that is the rating I would give this company. I recently had them come out to reattach the lip back to the upper section of granite in the kitchen in front of our sink, as well as fix a chip on another section on the other side of the kitchen. While fixing the section by the sink, they put a 8 inch crack in the top section which was never damaged to begin with. It appears the workers attempted to fix it and now there is not only a crack, but the granite has been discolored and is darker than the rest. Mr. Monica's workers are denying they caused the crack, but I'm wondering why when Mr. Monica came out to give me an estimate he did not mention the discoloration (because it wasn't discolored) or why I didn't ask him to also fix the crack along with the other work to be done (because the crack wasn't there). Now we are stuck with a cracked granite top and they are also not offering to fix it. I am not a granite expert (which is why they were hired), but I'm thinking to fix it right would entail getting all new granite. Perhaps this would be why they are not owning up to the damage. Although they did a good job fixing what they were hired to fix, they have created an additional problem which wasn't there to begin with. Very dissatisfied to say the least. read more
