5 Stars for Cindy. I get my haircut from Cindy every other week and have never had any issues. She cares about her customers and will always ask throughout the haircut if you're satisfied or have a specific preference on how you want your hair cut. You can call/txt her to reserve a time slot which is amazing and you can't go wrong for the price. I've been to other local barbers that charge anywhere from $20-40 for a cut and normally you're waiting anywhere from 30mins to an hour. Their haircut options range here but you can get a clean cut for under $20 but don't forget to tip because Cindy is worth it. If you can afford to pay $40+ for a haircut elsewhere then that's fine but don't expect a crazy fade design or Nike symbol on the side of your head for under half the price. Can't beat it. My son came here to get his haircut for an interview. He chose this place because of the 5 star rating. I swear these ratings must be friends and family because they did a very poor job on my sons hair. He came in for a fade and lineup. Cindy took him in and begun cutting his hair. He tried letting her know that she had messed up and the language barrier didn't help much. I uploaded pictures. DO NOT GO HERE He was so embarrassed that he didn't want to take pictures. There's no way this is a 5 star barber. It's actually worse in person, my son is too embarrassed to leave the house without a beanie in the middle of summer. I brought my son because he had a mop of hair on his head. There were plenty of pictures of styles to choose from on the walls. Cindy and her husband were there in the shop-very nice people. My boyfriend has a very odd combination of hair texture being half Taiwanese and half red head so it's always been difficult to find a good barber that understands his hair. Monica's might be a hole in the wall type of place but Monica and Cindy provide some of the best service in the industry. For the longest time, I couldn't find anyone to cut my hair as this barber I use to cut with has moved further away and my schedule just never matched for me to make the drive out. So I began my search for someone to provide a decent cut, after many meh cuts I took a chance with Monica. Thank god they were also on my way home so they squeezed in a cut and I was impressed, to say the least, the attention to detail even as they were close to closing I can appreciate that they care about their customers. Just had my first visit here: for $9 (regular men's is $8 and a skin fade adds an extra dollar), you can't do better anywhere. Cindy, a very kind and accommodating lady, did a wonderful job on the requested combover look. Sometimes, a bad experience can be had by barbers who rush the process, accidentally pull hairs, or are rough with the scalp; that didn't happen here at all. The entire experience felt smooth and light-touched. She apparently previously had cut at a shop in Costa Mesa that charged higher prices, so you're kind of getting a bargain here (on top of its very decent price). Fade looks fresh, line part's real clean, and the overall look is just how I like it, compact and tight. I've been to much pricier establishments, but this one's a keeper. I was in the area on Sunday and needed a quick haircut. Most places are closed on Sunday, but saw that Monica's Barber was open. Im so glad i dropped in. Cindy helped me with the perfect high fade comb-over that you come to expect at high end boujee ass salons. Cindy was personable, and welcoming. Take it from me, most asian barbers cant do high fade parting line comb-over, but Cindy nailed it. I will forever drive down to Monica's every 2 weeks to clean up my boujee ass hair. read more

I always have bad luck when it comes to going to a new barber for the first time and am always a bit nervous about the end result , however after my 1st haircut at Monica's I left very satisfied with the haircut! Monica and the other barber (forgot her name) were very nice and personable , she definitely knows how to fade and works fairly fast. Her prices are very reasonable and is open later than most barbershops around. The only downside is that she doesn't not accept card nor does she have an atm machine . She had mentioned that it had been stolen after someone broke in to her shop , so be prepared with cash in hand. Don't live in the area, but happened to be nearby for Mother's Day and was looking for a haircut. I found Monica's Barber on Yelp and stopped by without any reservation on Saturday afternoon. There was no line and Cindy welcomed me into the shop. She was friendly, listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and got to work. She would periodically show me what she was doing and asked for any input, which I appreciated. The total haircut was about 20 min (prob shorter), cost $12, and I was out the door. Monica's Barber Shop is beautiful it's new and super clean. Monica has cut my hair and my sons hair for the past 16 years. Monica does great fades she also specialize s with my younger son who is special needs. I always like the feeling of a clean shave after leaving Monica s shop. After I went in I saw it was a lil off . We are in a pandemic and these ladies were cutting these 2 gentlemen's hair right next to each other no space between them . Seeing there was other chairs available. After one of the ladies was done cutting this mans hair I was up next , she just called me up and sat me down , without sanitizing anything, nor washed her hands after, using the same drape she used for the previous client . I had asked for what it seemed to be the simplest undercut which was not the case for her . She really messed my hair up . Very bad experience here . After getting a haircut from both lady's. I don't recommend getting hit from Monica because when I was getting a haircut it feels rushed. Also it didn't turn out how I asked. But when you get a haircut with Cindy, it feels well paced and she just gives good haircuts overall. But the service is amazing just wouldn't recommend a haircut from Monica. read more
