I decided to give them a try and have been very happy with the service. We've had little trouble with our connections over the past couple of years. When our rental guests did have problems they were helped over the phone or a tech was sent out in a timely manner. Anytime I needed help or had questions about different services, it was easy to get Jennifer on the phone to answer my questions. What a breath of fresh air it is to have someone answer the phone right away without a long wait When I had a streaming issue with my old televisions not being smart tvs, they were able to find someone who went out and purchased the correct tvs and installed them as well.i wasn't able to get down to the obx to do it myself. What a relief to know that my rental property was going to be ready for my guests when they arrived! It's bittersweet that I just sold my rental property this month. I'm sure going to miss Renter's Net. Jennifer promised if they expand to Virginia Beach that she'd be sure to call me to let me know. I'll be their first customer.

I am an IT professional and when I am at my place here to do work on the house, I also need to be able to work remotely. They provide personal service, and are great at dealing with suppliers when the rare problem comes up. Jennifer has been great to work with. I have used this company for close to 15 years, and my only fear is that they will eventually sell the business to someone who will not care about their customers as much as they clearly do.

I turned in my cable box and cancelled my service at the Kitty Hawk, OBX Spectrum store on the morning of 8/26. I asked if I was all closed out and no more billing? The Spectrum rep said oh no you need to pay $235.00 for the month of September (8/26-9/25). I said that is crazy, may I speak to the manager. The rep said she is not available. I said is she here? He said she is out back training a new employee. I said please go get her I'm not leaving without speaking to her. The irritated manager came out and said I will have to pay the final bill before 9/15. She said that Spektrum does not offer pro-rate refunds. I said I'm just one day late and the office was closed the past two days. She said there was nothing she could do and was unwilling or unable to make an escalation call for a waiver of the final bill. When I went home, I called a Spectrum HQ support number and spoke to a person, and they said the boss that could waive the final bill was out of the office and that she would send him an email with my request and reason. It appears that the only thing that happened was the bill went from $235.00 to $227.00. In conclusion, it appears that Charter/Spectrum's only game in town arrogance continues as demonstrated by providing an overpriced marginal product and poor customer service. Thank goodness there is now Ripple fiber.

Now they're trying to push some "plus" upgrade for another $5.99 per month and making the current service basically unusable. I can look at my inbox ONCE, reply to ONE message if I'm lucky before the screen freezes and I have to log in again, which takes forever if it works at all. Changed browsers, same thing. Today I tried to respond to an email, pasted the "to" address in the Compose box, and the address disappeared when I hit Send. Then it helpfully alerted me that there was no recipient specified, but again deleted the address after I typed it in manually. I had to shut down the computer and go to my phone just to complete this one short piece of correspondence. You'd think they would be embarrassed enough by this dismal performance to at least provide some support. But there's no longer anyone you can talk to by phone, and the chat is only open during business hours. After reading the other reviews here, I've concluded there's no hope of improvement so I'm out.

When he got there he said I needed a new router. So he took the router back to return and left. A few weeks later they sent me a bill. It charged me for having internet that I did not have. It also charged me for using customer support, buying the router, and returning it. So I called customer support and told her I did not have their internet even though I was fined for it. Then they suddenly hanged up on me and I was fined for complaining later. And all of these fines cost me over $600. NEVER GET THEIR INTERNET!
