First of all, I have to say we really enjoy Monicals pizza. It's very tasty. My complaint is the price is high for such thin crest. My 15 year-old daughter and I can almost eat a whole large pizza for dinner. The crust is almost paper thin. So it takes a lot to fill you up. We get a large pizza with pepperoni all over and add half chicken to one side. They probably have the best chicken pizza in Avon., IN. I called in my order, so it is always ready to be picked up as soon as I walk in This place is not very fancy booth, seating, and a few tables. So Monicals's is far from my fave but the person I was with absolutely loves it. *shrug* Their thin crust pizza is popular. I got pepperoni and mushroom. It was okayyy. I also got the garlic bread and it hit the spot but was nothing to write home about, esp for the $6 cost. This location has a large back room so that's great for folks who have a large event to host and want a room to rent out. Service was great. i use to order from monical's all the time when i worked out in avon. weird but i kept smelling sausage pizza and it was specific i realized it was monical's so i decided to order. i've been over in the plaza a few times because it's next to rise n roll bakery. i ordered my meal online and it told me it would be ready in 20-30 mins. the online ordering was easy and the website provided a lot of detail about changes due to covid. i ordered my usual a thin crust sausage pizza and garlic cheese bread. several things i fake don't eat sausage, okay? i love when places have garlic cheese bread and it's specifically called that. their thin crust is perfectly baked although mine could have used more cheese. the garlic cheese bread comes with a standard marinara that's tasty. my order was ready when i arrived. read more

Honestly, this is one of my favorite thin crust pizza places. I love how many slices you can get out of it. The crust is very crispy. The toppings are tasty and fresh. The price is on the expensive end, though. Management isn't the best. My parents were told they could order a pizza with half toppings on one side and half toppings on the other all for the price of a one topping. However, later management refused to honor that. We had driven by Monicals in Avon a million times, but had never been. It's one of the few pizza places in the area that serves alcohol in a family friendly environment. But based on the reviews, we were hesitant to take a chance due to the people on Yelp complaining about wait times and staffing issues. The place was very busy, but lots of staff at the front to welcome and get us seated. Our waiter (Doug) had accidentally entered in our pizza without a couple toppings, but he made us an extra pizza for his mistake and admitted his error. Upon leaving, I asked for a manager to compliment them on what a good job everyone did. Something I NEVER do, but I felt it was necessary. She thanked me for saying something, because 'all I ever get are complaints' In the day & age we live, everyone wants to be upset or be unhappy. After two additional visits I've had a chance to try other menu items. My friend is true to the pizza for the thin, doughy crust, sauce and sausage. The chicken wings have a good flavor with a tiny bit of spice. The breadsticks are soft, doughy, slightly salted, hot and whether with spicy cheese or marinara sauce are delicious. We enjoy the option of ordering a single or family size order of breadsticks and salad. Ordering both in family size is a nice lunch for two. Breadsticks are quick for carry out snack if you just pop in as we have before. Call ahead or eat in, regardless you'll enjoy! The sports room is perfect for large birthday parties or bringing the team in for pizza after a game or practice. The pizza is really good. It's on a thinner crust, the sauce is flavorful, and there is just the right amount of cheese to hold stuff together but not overpower the other flavors. Toppings are evenly applied. Slices are square not triangular. There are also salads, sandwiches, a handful of appetizers, and I *think* they have GF options now because I recall reading something about "our celiac friends". There's this very odd server who works evenings. He's waited on us at least 2-3 times and says just the strangest things. However, he's very welcoming, quick, and has never screwed up our order. He keeps drinks refilled without you asking and offers to-go cups. His strangeness is somewhat off-putting as you can't tell if he's joking or serious or maybe just a little below average intelligence and not quite making sense. Let me start by saying this pizza is really good! The pan pizza has a delicious crust and very good toppings. However, two stars is extremely generous. Please read below, and do not miss number 7, where a PANHANDLER WAS ALLOWED TO APPROACH ALL TABLES ASKING FOR MONEY. HOWEVER, it was not enough to save the poor service. Firstly, the waitress did not know what alcoholic beverages they sold and had to look around for a drink menu. Secondly, it appeared to only have one person over the age of 21 working, which is not great when you are serving alcoholic beverages. Thirdly, ordered an "individual pleaser". When the salad was brought out, we had to ask for dressing since our dressing choices were not asked for, and we had to clarify again that we asked for the pleaser. Fourth, our daughter's individual pizza was brought out minimally 5-10 minutes before ours. We were not asked if we wanted to wait for hers until ours came out. Fifth, we had to ask more than once for a glass of water. We were not offered straws. We were never once "checked on" for drink refills. The soda machine couldn't accommodate more diet drink and "wasn't working". Sixth, we had to ask for plates and napkins. Seventh, a grifter/panhandler was allowed to walk through the restaurant asking for money with a laminated card from table to table. None of the (extremely young) servers or workers addressed this and asked the woman to leave. Eighth, our server exhibited no desire to be at work. Extremely lethargic. Barely spoke. No smile. Ninth, the stated hours are until 10:00 pm for Saturday. This location began mopping the entire restaurant and putting chairs on tables at 8:52 pm. Maybe I wanted another drink or dessert? They would not know because it was clear they wanted everyone to leave so they could close early. This was my first visit to this restaurant and will be my last. I have to say, not being from a town with a Monical's, it did take a little while for the place to grow on me - and now it's a top place I take family and friends when they visit! I've tried a little of everything... Pizza: Mighty Meat on thin crust is my go-to. Awesome fun fact: you can get triple extra cheese! I normally only do twice extra cheese, hafta watch that figure. Dipped in ranch dressing. Yes, this is reserved for when I'm going to fat attack food. Eat the salad. Yes, it's simple (go for the chef if you want more fancy) but its freaking great! Also, I do get a bit more cheese. And the French and Ranch dressings are awesome! Oddly fantastic: cheese fries. I get the cheddar cheese (can you tell I like cheese?). Did NOT see this coming as being so awesome. No idea why it took me a couple visits to like the place, but I do now. This was our first visit to Monicals. We spent a minutes perusing the menu and decided to go for the full monte and have salads, breadsticks and pizza. We were so under impressed with all of it, including the clean-up crew. The salad was shredded lettuce (like for tacos), shredded carrots and mushy tomatoes. It is winter in Central Indiana. Good tomatoes are hard to come by. So neither of us bothered to even finish the salads. The dressing selections were skimpy. On to what they called breadsticks. They had the coarse pretzel salt on them so I was excited by that. They were really nothing more than a cooked glob of dough pre-sliced and baked. They weren't undercooked but just had a very doughy, bland taste. Same with the cheese sauce. So, we patiently await the pizza. We ordered the thin crust delight. It was scantily topped, both toppings and cheese. Delight is similar to deluxe, with 5 toppings. There shouldn't be much space between that many toppings. The sauce didn't have any special qualities. Wish I had taken a photo. It reminded me of a frozen pizza. They got the thin, crispy part down. As for the rest....we're going back to our old standby. The service was fine. No complaints there, but we were there at the end of the dinner hour and watched an employee "sweep" the booths out and then sweep the floor with the same broom. YUCK! I put my hand on that seat to sit down and slide across. I eat the meal that you serve with my hands! I cannot stress how grossed out we were by that. I'm a fan of Pizza King style pizza but I always wish it was just a little better. Monical's delivers on this minus the choo-choo trains and nostalgia. I can't think of anybody who does thin crust party style cut better in the area. While the topping selection lacks fancier options, the classic staples never disappoint. Being new to Indiana, I had no clue where to pick a good pizza. We chose Monicals and were surprised at how much it was. However, when the pizza arrived we knew immediately we got what we paid for! The delivery to our home was quick and efficient. The taste and quality of the pizza were second to know. The ingredients used appeared fresh, the spices and seasonings used created a dynamic taste experience. Without question I would have to say this was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. I have some mixed feelings about this place. I will start off by saying that I haven't eaten inside the restaurant I've only requested delivery so I have no idea what the inside is like. The first time I called for delivery my order was for 2 pizzas and it was noon on a Wednesday and they said it would be an hour! I thought that time seemed pretty outrageous for the day and time considering this place is only a few miles from the house so we cancelled the order. The next time I ordered delivery it was a Saturday evening and I was quoted an hour and didn't think that was unreasonable but the person who took my order and delivered my food seemed to be annoyed that I was calling for an order and annoyed that they had to deliver it. This particular person's customer service skills were awful. However the spaghetti and meatballs were delicious! And it came with two soft baked breadsticks which were smothered in delicious garlic butter. I would give the food 5 stars. So my advice would be to order carry out. Monical's is probably my favorite "non-Indiana chain" based pizza place. Really like their thin crispy crust (also re-heats well) and you just can't beat an occasional shredded iceburg lettuce salad. I'm no fan of iceburg, but there is just something about a Monical's salad...maybe it's the way their house dressing clings to it. I don't know, it's just a must. My favorite has always been straight up pepperoni with pepperoncinis, but recently I've discovered their BBQ Chicken pizza...it's my new go-to. If you are in the area (Avon) and feel like pizza, give it a try. They also deliver, which is another reason they receive so much love from me. I have also been to group events at Monical's. Good service- spacious dining area with a great 'back room' for parties/large groups (however- they're certainly not shy about putting groups together. I don't think you can reserve this room (or so I've heard)- and I've been in there for 2 get-togethers that ended up being 'crashed' by other customers joining in. I had never been to Monical's before - this or any other location. Overall, the experience was... fine. We got a thin crust pie, as that seems to be what they do best, and it was quite good. It had a good amount of toppings on it and it was baked to a nice, crisp finish. The service was a little slow. We had a fairly large group, but even so it shouldn't take as long as it did for something like two drinks to come out. The place was clean enough with some fun local decor. Really, I have no real complaints about Monical's, but it also didn't impress us. Would we come back? Service was horrible tables were gross, the waitress just brushed the bits of food onto the floor and didn't even clean under or around the napkin dispenser and seasonings on the table, waited 5+ min and nobody even asked us if we even wanted a drink so we ended up leaving. This location used to be one of our family favorites until very recently. Our children love the pizza and breadsticks and we routinely ate there about once a week. This past week one of the servers struck my 4 yr old son on his bottom and made him cry. He was hit hard enough that it left a mark. I'm only leaving this review because the manager did nothing to remedy the situation other than change our server and when we called the corporate office they told us "there is nothing we can do." I love Monicals food, but the people working there must have less than a 3rd grade education. Great food but the service, sucks. I ordered online for delivery, and they couldn't distinguish between an online order and in person order. Complete bafoons. Food great but they hired idiots. Worst pizza ever.. i would rather make something else at home then eating there. I ordered 2 pizza cheese and veggie ( without mushrom and with pineapple) . They made both my pizza wrong . I am vegetarian, they added pepproni in my cheese pizza. Also in another pizza they didnt added pineapple and instead of that they added mushroom. When i ate pizza there was 2 hair in it..eeewwwww... i told to manager he returned my money . But i had so bad experience i wont suggest anyone to eat there.
