The last review is not kidding, this is the best pizza in the Midwest! We've been eating here for 10 years and it's still my favorite pizza spot. The food is consistent, fresh, & the customer service is excellent at all of their locations. My go to pizza order is always the hand tossed, Garlic sauce, Chicken, & chopped jalapeños. Warning- if you try this pizza you will love it and so will all your friends. The combination is so flavorful, with the garlic sauce it's not spicy at all, even my grandma loves this pizza! Our second favorite is definitely the bbq chicken pizza, plenty of sauce & chicken. All of their pizzas are very filling, evenly spread toppings. Inside the store they have 6-8 tables, always a movie playing, great for families, and feels like home! Lastly, The house made ranch dressing deserves an honorable mention, I think the pizza is great as it is but the ranch is actually quite nice for dipping. read more

Magoo's is our household's go-to pizza spot for when we want a hot, delicious pizza for takeout or delivery on the west side of Indy. They have their original location on 38th street that I think the dad still runs, but the Avon location that the son runs is a tad bit closer to us (and also the one that we can do delivery from), so we almost always order from the Avon location. The owner is almost always working when we go in and is so friendly. Always remembers your name/order and makes you feel welcomed. We have been going here for years and I always rave about them to my co-workers and friends. We discovered early on that you can do half red, half garlic sauce on the pizza, so we always order a supreme that way with 2 cups of ranch. The ranch is house-made and worth the extra $1 per cup. And that is coming from a girl whose family was a blue cheese household growing up. read more

Continued our new (as of last year) day after Thanksgiving tradition and took the family to Magoos. Forgot to grab pics as everyone just dug in, but we had a large chicken Tikka and a large Supreme along with an order of cheesy bread. We were warmly greeted when we entered, and thanked for our business. Great locally owned establishment. Food was out very quickly and was absolutely delicious. One day I'll remember and actually get a pic of the pizzas. Definitely recommend and will try and get back before next day after Thanksgiving. read more

We ordered a delivery order of pizza for the first time trying this. I didn't use the app to order but wish I would've. You can track the delivery and you get points for every dollar spent. I did sign up after the fact, but I wasn't able to track my order or record the points. Our pizza arrived about 15 minutes late of their estimated delivery time, but it arrived in 45 minutes, which was fine for us. Considering I ordered around dinner time so they were probably busy. Came here after my OB recommended Magoos during my appointment and was pleasantly surprised! The son of THE Mr. Magoo was running the store and you could tell by the way he spoke of the business and food that he has a genuine passion for the food he makes and growing the business. It was refreshing to listen to him speak of the meat they bring in from their own farm and to see the joy on his face when he explained how long the company has been operating and what they do with their food to make it so delicious. I'm a firm believer that in order for 5 stars, it needs to be good food, service and atmosphere and magoos was it! I chose to try Magoo's because of the good reviews, however, I was highly disappointed. In it. I ordered the meat lovers pizza, a Hawaiian pizza for my child, and the garlic cheese bread. The pizza sauce was off-putting. The meat lovers had very little meat or cheese, and my child said it was the worst she's had. The garlic cheese bread tasted good, but lacked volume. It was just six inch and a half pieces. Donato's is 100% better and only a block away is you want something better. If Magoo's is the pizza quality you want, try Little Caesars or a frozen pizza. They both taste bad too, but are less than half the price. read more

First and last time I have ever ordered from Magoo's in Avon. First I order 3 pizza's totaling $60. I paid online with a credit card and went to pick up the order. I was charged a $5.34 Service Fee and I have no idea what could cost $5.34. Second, the pizza sucked. They were not that big for $20 each and the taste was average at best. On top of that the stamped dough they used is dense and very chewy. But the thing that ticks me off is the $5.34 Service Fee with no breakdown on what exactly it entails. And as a bonus, when I walked in, it smelled heavily of weed. Somebody is baking high. read more

I stopped by to pick up an order for lunch, and the food was hot and ready at the time I was told while ordering! There was a parking lot in front of the restaurant that could fit about 12-15 cars, and I didn't have any trouble parking, which is always nice. The inside was pretty calm and quiet when I walked inside, and I would have liked to sit down to eat if I hadn't been in a rush I got a personal cheese pizza, but the menu had a few items that caught my eye, like the chicken tikka pizza. I believe this is one of the few pizza restaurants in the Indy area that use only halal meats in their recipes. I was able to snap a quick picture of the pizza I ordered, but the fries I ordered on the side were gone before I knew it.... They were well-seasoned, crunchy and, deliciously crispy--I wouldn't have guessed how much I would enjoy fries at a pizza restaurant :) Will be going back to try the other menu items and those fries again! read more

I can't believe I have driven past here so many times and never stopped in. Today I decided to try a pizza, and it was a very nice experience. When I walked in I received a friendly greeting, and was asked if it was my first visit. I was given a quick explanation of the menu. I ordered a veggie pizza with garlic sauce, garlic cheese bread, and a side of ranch. The pizza was delicious, and I really loved the garlic sauce. It was covered with a generous amount of veggies, all the way to the edge. The crust was a little different, it had kind of a softer texture that was fairly unique. Garlic cheese bread was perfect, especially when dipped in the ranch. It was baked to perfection, not too hard and crunchy. The restaurant was very clean. I can't rave about this place enough! We had seen other Yelp reviews and needed to find a vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurant open early to meet a friend for lunch and picked this spot. The parking lot has ample spots and the building and signage are easily spotted from the main road. Upon entering it is obvious you order at the counter and their menu is posted behind on the wall as well as in a laminated menu at the counter. We were enthusiastically greeted by the owner/manager who asked if it was our first visit and then proceeded to give us all the specials and best loved options. He recommended the garlic sauce but as we were being good we wanted a vegan option. In the end we got a large vegetable pizza with regular crust and added spicy Indian spices. He recommended we try regular crust as it was our first visit, and we could go to the in crust another time. We had a seat as they have a few tables and it is a clean and well spaced out seating area. They only have bottled drinks so we went with water, but keep that in mind if you want to dine in. Our food came out fast and it was delicious! The sauce and veggies were ample and went all the way to the end of the crust, a personal favorite (hate being given only a few veggies)! The spicy ginger and flavoring was just right without being too much, and it was a really decent size for the price. We loved the regular crust so we were glad we took his advice. We finished almost all of it as I couldn't stop eating! We had done no cheese and found out later while chatting to the owner/manager that all his dough is vegan. Awesome! He was super kind and chatted with us and also gave us some treats that are vegan which aren't on the menu seeing as we couldn't have the other options for a sweet treat. He told us a lot about the cooking and spices and was answering all our questions about pizza and Indian spices. Wonderful spot for lunch and very kind staff! Decided to meet up with friends and try a new place. Looked on line at the menu and reviews and all looked good. Night before decided to look more at the menu. And saw Halal ( what is Halal ) So a little on line research was done. Then flash backs to the beef bacon we had in Egypt, it was bad. Decided to give Magoo's a try anyway. Worst case we stop at McDonald's on the way home. We got half Chicken Tikka with Ranch Sauce and Half Pepperoni and Sausage with tomato sauce plus garlic bread with cheese. The pizza was great. I liked the Chicken half better then the pepperoni and sausage. The Halal Pepperoni and Sausage is beef not pork. So it has a diffrent taste and texture but not overly. The garlic bread with cheese was also good. Restaurant is very clean. As people left the tables and chairs were all cleaned. Service was friendly and he helped us with the menu. This has been a favorite since I was younger. I was passing through Indianapolis and had to make a stop despite it being out of the way. I am so happy that I did. I ordered a mini supreme pizza which was delicious, I am a big fan of the white sauce pizza and loved the spice of the meat. Extremely flavorful! I also got the chicken tikka pizza which is awesome! I have wanted to stop here and eat for a long while. Only reason I have not stopped here is it is in a bad spot. The parking lot is also not that big. The dining room is also not that big but I would call it cozy. The staff is very friendly and the service was very fast even though I think they do more carry out. We got the potato wedges and they came with homemade ranch they were both delicious. Also had the garlic bread with cheese and it was very flavorful. We ordered the meat lovers although it tasted very good it was lite on toppings and I think the sausage was smoked and that was a bit odd. Dining room and bathroom's were clean I will be back to try their other pizza's and they also have a garlic pizza sauce I would like to try. I would recommend to anyone one in Avon looking for pizza. read more

TL;DR: Really good, but not quite my style of pizza. Food: We got a large 1/2 Chicken Tikka, 1/2 Chappli Kabob as these were the top recommended. The reviews aren't wrong, these are very good pizzas, but they definitely have their own niche and unfortunately aren't quite my style. Service: Ordered to-go over the phone, no issues. Price: About average for a large pizza, but they let you split 1/2 and 1/2 with the specialties which is really nice. Overall: Glad I tried it, but not quite for me. Wow, the ratings don't lie with this gem of a pizza joint! From the ordering (via phone) to pick-up, it was a super easy and friendly process. The man at the counter was so nice, and even complimented my outfit. He offered me a side of their ranch salad dressing as well and mentioned it was homemade. I was also impressed my the overall cleanliness of the store's interior. When I arrived home, the size of my medium pizza was quite surprising...a great value! Prices have understandably gone up in recent times, but their medium rivals some large pizzas I've had from other places. Both the pizza and ranch tasted very fresh. Tried the famous chicken tikka but that was a big let down -- it had an odd sweet/tangy flavor that sounds better than it actually tastes on a pizza. Tried the veggie but the cheese was probably damaged irretrievably. Either that or something was off in the sauce.
