Since work has moved to the southside, some coworkers and myself decided to check out a new place for lunch. The request was pizza and Enzo's pulled up on Yelp as near us. It was a quick drive, we parked and walked right in, and got in the line to order. They have several different meal combinations, I decided to get the number 4. Which was 2 slices and a drink. I had your classic cheese which was delicious! I also had their version of the pizza margarita which had tasty fresh toppings! I also typically never have pop, so I decided to indulge and got a Dr. Pepper which was also very good. Man I was in a serious pizza slump. I'm on the road a lot and I eat pizza at least twice a week and I haven't had a good slice for a while. Enzos certainly hit the spot, and have plenty of combo options. The pizza is hot and greasy, and service is fast despite heating up the pizza before serving. Overall I liked the pepperoni breadsticks over the regular, and I wasn't in love with the cheese sauce. I'd order a different sauce next time. read more

I always get the #2, a slice of pizza with two breadsticks, a cheese sauce and a drink. It's around $8. The pizza slice is huge and has a nice crispy bottom. The breadsticks are soft and fluffy. The pizza itself isn't bad but not anything special especially for the prices they are insane for what you get. It was like 15 for a combo with one slice of pepp and stuffed bread sticks that can barely be called stuffed because it just looked like someone angrily smashed pepps into the dough and forgot cheese they were soo dry and stale and a drink. I can literally get an entire pizza for the price of a single slice combo that comes with breadsticks you're better off just throwing away. So essentially it cost a whole pizza at other places for just one slice. How this business stays in business is beyond me. Probably not going back again and I haven't had it in years and it was an expensive disappointment. Would not recommended. read more

COVID carryout review: my partner-in-crime was craving some Friday night pizza and by the time we were done with work, I was wanting to our zero effort into dinner. This particular Enzo's location conveniently has a drive thru option in addition to carry out at this time. Our order was simple: one 16" pepperoni pizza and a Pepsi to share. The pizza hit the spot. I'd describe it as "medium" thickness in dough and the pepperoni was generously topping the pizza. The meal could have easily served three people for $22. I was happy to see that they were staying fairly busy with carryout despite the current situation. We stopped in for takeout pizza, medium pepperoni. When I showed up, the pizza was just finishing up and we got it directly out of the oven. The whole car ride home smelled AMAZING. The staff looked busy and engaged, always a good sign. The pizza was delicious! All the ingredients and flavors were great, with good proportions of cheese, sauce, crust, and toppings. My only critique would be that the crust was not as crispy/chewy as I like (maybe needs higher protein flour? Hotter oven? I dunno - I'm no pizza doctor), but overall a really solid NY-style pie. read more

How have I never reviewed Enzo's?! When I attended UIndy, this was my lunch time staple. The staff have all been here for years and are polite when bringing food to tables. So this adds to my week of pizza. I ate pizza almost 5 days in a row, god knows why, but...I suppose it's comfort food for those of us raised in New York/New Jersey families...and nothing beats good comfort food during cruddy cold weather. ANYWAY. I've been eating Enzo's for quite sometime - they used to have a shop at the Fashion Mall and they have two locations downtown - on Ilinois and in the City Market. I had never been to this location, so I decided to venture just south of downtown and see how it was. It's a free standing location, in a crappy shopping center next to a Taco Bell. Despite the not-so-sexy location, the building is really well maintained and super clean. I was greeted by friendly staff with plenty of menu options. I ordered two slices of pepperoni and used a coupon from their website which got me a free drink with the purchase of two slices. The staff was very friendly, and it didn't take long for my slices to be heated and brought to me at my booth. I like heat with my pizza, so I added on some red pepper and prepared to pig out. I was left with a really disappointing taste in my mouth (no pun intended). There was too much cheese on the slices, giving an almost nauseating feeling when eating it (gagging, perhaps. I'm not one of those types that loves extra cheesy pizza). It also was a bit undercooked, they could have left it in the oven a bit longer. By the time this all processed through my gorging pizza hunger, it was too late to ask them to heat it. I wasn't in the mood (my fault...) to deal with it, I suppose. I had 1 1/2 slices (And before you think I'm some out of shape junk food addict, I swear I've got a high metab and I keep in shape, heh) and couldn't stomach the last half. The cheese was getting to me and I started to get grossed out by the goo. The heat was also super weak, the red pepper was "stale" so to say, leaving very little pack to the punch. I trashed my pizza, went back into the rain and headed home feeling disappointed by Enzo South. I usually have a great experience with slices at the Market. I'd consider going back to this location, if they go a bit lighter on the cheese and I have them keep it in the oven a bit longer. They also need to freshen up their spices! Overall a clean restaurant with a friendly staff, just a bit too cheesy for my NYC style tastes. read more

If you're starving and want to grab some quick greasy pizza that reminds you of the east coast or Chicago, then Enzo's is your move. The slices remind me of Luca Pizza or Pizza di Roma, which were places in the mall I used to go to when I was a child. The slices are large and satisfying. One slice may do it for you, but to eat two makes you a brave soul, and if you eat three prepare yourself to not move the rest of the day. I have staff members, at work, that enjoy their salads. I've had one salad before and it was okay. I've also had their stuffed pepperoni calzones and they rival a slice of pizza. I love the pizza here! I'm not a huge fan of thin crust pizza, but when I'm in the mood for it, this does the trick! The pizza is fine. It's not great -- the crust of the veggie pie I tried was a bit underdone -- but it's not terrible, and it's ready quickly. This pizza wouldn't pass muster in northern NJ where I grew up, but it's not bad for central Indiana! They have a few vegetarian options: I've tried the spinach lasagna (pretty good), spinach roll (great -- really cheesy and delicious with marinara sauce), and vegetable pizza (topped with spinach, fresh tomato, and ricotta -- fantastic toppings, even if an underwhelming crust.) It's possible that the more commonly ordered meat-topped pizzas are better! You'll pay a bit more than at a fast food place -- spinach roll is around $7, lasagna and garlic bread is $8 (and more if you want to add a salad or drink), and large slices are $3.50 - $4. But the food is filling and cheesy and hits the spot when you want an Italian fix in a rush. You can order in person or using the drive-thru. read more

Our favorite fast food Italian restaurant. They beat Fazoli's hands down. Their pasta is as good as any full service restaurant, and their New York style pizza is very good. They have a Saturday special, 18 inch 3-topping pizza for $15.99, that is hard to beat. They will happily customize your order to your taste. read more

I consider this place to be a hidden gem near the U. Indy Campus. Let's start with the restaurant itself. I've visited here about fifty times (probably a conservative estimate) and have never once encountered unkept facilities. Workers are quick to clean up and even offer to help with trash as you're leaving. They take their cleanliness seriously and it shows. The staff all appear to be related or at least know each other very well. There is an older woman who works there who recognizes me and my mother every time we dine. She always asks how we're doing. It's nice to feel that valued. The other workers are also very friendly and always say hi when we dine in. I've used their drive through once and it took a grand total of 3 minutes. Definitely worth the trouble. The food itself is very good and very plentiful. Two people can eat for under $20 and not be able to leave their plate empty. I highly recommend the calzones and pepperoni breadsticks. Their pizza is very good too; they have a variety of flavors that are sure to please whatever taste bud you're trying to satisfy. The best part about the restaurant is that it's always got customers but is never overwhelmed with customers. They're speedy, friendly and eager to feed you. read more
