I felt a moral obligation to share my experience…read more While dealing with a severe, throbbing toothache, and 2 visits over 2 weekends for cleaning and fillings, the clinic claimed they submitted a prior authorization request for me for a root canal. I waited for 2 weeks and finally called my insurance company directly, and they confirmed they never received anything from this office , and I also don't see any update on my insurance app, and UHC ask me to call this clinic again to confirm and the receptionist immediately told me oh the request is denied. Because I was in extreme pain for a couple of days over the weekend and needed to go to urgent care immediately on a Monday morning, I repeatedly verified my email address with the receptionist so the doctor could send over my X-rays and referral, so I don't have to do the second time x-ray within a such short time for health purpose. The doctor and the receptionist kept lying, claiming it was sent, and actually had the audacity to scream at me over the phone, and I still have received absolutely nothing. I even noticed they have a sign posted on the wall telling patients to pay to get their own X-ray results when I was getting treatment in the clinic. Why do they claim that they sent over the results to the insurance company and me and we all just never receive it. What are the reasons behind this. When I ended up not receiving my results from them and had to get a new one done another dentist told me he doesn't see an infection on the roots on my teeth that's hurting and used different treatment to keep my nerve and teeth and it is not hurting anymore. I also observed they make people have long wait times but very rushed procedures. The doctor spent minimal time on my dental cleaning and filling and showed extreme impatience when I had to ask her multiple times to adjust my bite correctly. Even I left there for couple days my eating and biting still feel very uncomfortable. They left a patient in agonizing pain stranded without their medical records while being verbally aggressive and impatient treatments. Extremely unethical. please avoid at all cost.

I saw her in 2025, approximately 8 months ago, and am still dealing with the consequences of this visit. On my first visit, she did x-rays and cleaning. She advised me that I had several cavities that needed to be filled, left and right side. She also was extremely pushy about doing silver fillings. I expressed multiple times that I wanted white and had to argue and convince her to do what I wanted for my own teeth. Mind you, I've had both silver and white fillings before and have had zero issues before with either option. Another dentist I saw later suggested that she may have been pushing silver in order to charge more. Anyway, we schedule my fillings for the left side. A week after I get about 3 fillings on my left side, I notice that a TON of food keeps getting stuck between my teeth and it's impossible to floss. She explains I need to use a water pick and I can't use regular thread floss anymore (literally what???) I realize that while she was doing my fillings (which were on the side/wall of my teeth, she never used spacers (those square rings they place around your teeth so that the filling for one teeth doesn't touch your other teeth and you can still floss). Later, a huge chunk comes out of my mouth randomly - possibly a piece of filling, possibly part of my tooth, who knows. Now I have a huge chunk/hole in between my front molars. Another spot where food consistently gets stuck. I go to another dentist to see if he can repair this filling and maybe do the other fillings on my right side since I don't trust this dentist anymore. I ask to receive my x-rays before I go and that in itself is a huge hassle with the dentist/front desk refusing to send it, saying they sent it to the new dentist (but actually they didn't). I end up having to go in person to get a printed out copy of my x-rays because of how unreliable and ridiculous both the dentist and front desk lady are being. The new dentist looks at my teeth and the x-rays. He says he can fix it but I would be paying out of pocket since my insurance just paid for that filling. Additionally, he says he doesn't see any need for me to get any fillings on the right side at all. So basically she was trying to do unnecessary fillings on teeth that were perfectly fine? FRAUDULENT AND EVIL! it's months later and I'm still having so many issues on the left side of my jaw with so much food constantly getting stuck in my teeth that I have to floss immediately after every meal and it takes 10-15 minutes to fully clear it out. I just had my most recent appointment with a new dentist, and guess what, he also said that I have no new cavities but noticed huge gaps and issues with the fillings I have on my left side and will repair the fillings but because of how deep the gaps are on my left side, I not only have to pay for the filling but also for the additional antibiotic / additional injections that will end up costing me $300+ All this pain, discomfort and money because of one fraudulent dentist. DO NOT GO HERE! she is not a professional dentist and will do a horrible job. All her five star reviews look fake. Read her one star reviews for the truth!

Prior to visiting Queens Central Dental, I hadn't been to a dentist in 2 years. Part of the reason was because 95% of the dentists in the city didn't accept my insurance. The average out of pocket price was $200. After meticulously searching for a dentist that accepted Metroplus, I found Queens Central Dental. It is at a somewhat convenient location (a short bus ride from the 7 train). The dental hygienist was very friendly. She assuaged my fears about the dentist. The metal contraption that you have to bite when they take the X-rays hurt like hell. The hygienist encouraged me to tough it out. I got through it. The cleaning was fast but comprehensive. The total time that I spent at the office was an hour, which is pretty good (I've been to places where I had to wait three hours to see a dentist). I'm definitely returning to Queens Central Dental.

There wasn't a hygienist in during my visit and the dentist, Dr. Ames performed the cleaning, which took about 5 minutes in total so I'll just leave it there as the quality of a 5 minute cleaning (not being dramatic here) should be obvious. One reason for the total rush job was his office was not well staffed. The same person who answered calls at the front desk was the same person who took my x'rays and she had to excuse herself twice to run to the front and answer the phone. My appointment was early and there was only one other patient being worked on. Dr. Ames had to pause that to do my cleaning and then get back to finish that patient. The rushing really bothered me because it affected my level of care and I could have done a better cleaning myself with some tools from CVS. Find another place that takes their time with patients and gives great service.

Then she started talking about how he can build up my tooth and then make me a new crown when all I need is mine recemented!? Finally, she told me I couldn't come in at my appt time - I could come in at 11 (but by this time i'm home on the phone with her and it's already after 10:30?!?!) She said this was because zocdoc made an error (just like they made an error with what insurance the office accepts? Hmmm) She said the error was that zocdoc had me booked with a different dentist than the one who was available (wait... what? I dont even get to see the dentist i made an appt with?) I was so turned off by how quickly this became so complicated that I just said, "forget it"!!! I called another local, reputable dental center who said, "Sure your flat fee for the recement is ___ and everything else will be covered by insurance" so simple - like it should be! They were busy that day, but really the wait wasn't too bad (I'm an impatient person) and I had plenty of time to fill out the paperwork. The receptionists treated me with respect and answered all the questions I had about co-payment. I was very impressed by the courteous receptionists (total sweethearts), impeccably clean waiting room and bathroom. But what impressed me the most was Dr Abayev and how thoroughly and gently he cleaned my teeth. He was very sensitive to not hurt me, and would ask to make sure I was OK. He is personable, friendly and professional. I will definitely return and would recommend this place to anybody. Thank you Dr Abayev and his amazing team!! :)

The cordless tooth polisher was great since and the entire mouth floss as the end was amazing as well. I got to catch up on some Netflix at my dentist, welcome to 2019. The entire office was VERY clean and the front desk was very friendly and checked me in quickly so I didn't wait long at all. I will be doing x-rays in 6 months since I just had them done recently. My second favorite part was the hot towel at the end of the cleaning to mop off my face, I felt like I was flying first class! However, the communication from reception has been disappointing. They often don't seem to know the status of cases, and when I asked if my tooth was ready, I simply received a "no," even though I had already received a text confirming it was ready. Scheduling appointments is also unnecessarily difficult, especially with one particular receptionist who rarely has availability and makes patients adjust to her schedule. The other receptionist is much nicer and communication with her is always easy. The dental team is great, but the front desk experience needs significant improvement.
