This place isn't too expensive. If you need a place to take the kiddos to get all their energy out on a snowy, cold day. It definitely is not very clean, it smells funky, there are no water fountains, and the bathrooms need attention. The kids enjoyed themselves for the most part. There isn't too many options food wise. The workers could definitely be wiping down tables or play equipment instead of standing around talking. read more

Monkey Joes is like the wish.com version of Malibu Jacks. A little dirtier, less options for activities, no real restaurant, less games. However, we had fun! Recently took both of my kids here. It was a great deal. $11 to play all day, not bad at all. It was a blast for my 5 going on 6 year old. There was plenty of jumpies for bigger kids as well as a cool little kid area for those under 3. There is a lot of noise simply because it's a warehouse filled with inflatables but it wasn't bad, just kinda loud white noise, which kept my baby sleeping soundly. A lot of the arcade games weren't working when we went so I can't really speak on that. A little bit inconvenient but they seemed a little short staffed so I'm not gonna ding em on that. We ordered a few things from the concession and it wasn't high quality food but it was affordable and tasty junky food. (And it was ready very quickly) There were several birthday parties going on when we went so that's great that they offer birthday packages. There were several private party rooms along one side of the building. The restrooms were up kept and clean. The staff was nice with the exception of one lady who was bossing around a few of the employees and just seemed kinda rude. All in all it was fun for my kid and it was affordable. My two year-old had a blast here. For about an hour. Then he was done. My husband and I thought it was just OK. We came here last month for my birthday to take my son out for some fun (yeah, when you're a parent, it isn't really your birthday anymore, is it?) on a rainy day and was not really impressed. Price point was fine. Overall, seems like an OK space -- with several inflatables, a small concession area, some rooms for birthday parties. Also, it is very loud in here because of all the machinery keeping the inflatables inflated. There is a designated toddler area in the back of the building that was kind of lacking. Most of the stuff was for very little toddlers and kind of boring. My son was more interested in trying the stuff for big kids. However, there were so many kids running around, trampling my son (even big kids in the toddler area). A few times my son was scared and didn't want to jump anymore. Adults are not allowed to jump on inflatables although some of them allow adults in the inflatables to stand/sit and support for the kids. It seemed like the parents here were more interested in their phones than the kids anyway. (I'm not a parent that sits on my phone, I'm a parent that watches my kid because I get joy out of seeing my child have fun.) We went to the arcade area to play a few games (again, not an impressive selection of games), where he won enough tickets to take home a little plastic dinosaur. Yay. Place also seemed kind of dim and dirty. Employees didn't seem to care. Maybe Monkey Joe's needs a good cleaning and an update. I don't know. I doubt we'll be back here. read more

Spent the afternoon with my grandkids at MJ's. Such a super fun place to go with family. Inexpensive and very well kept. The management is top notch and staff is some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Love that there is somewhere to take my 2 year old girl to blow of some energy. Not busy at all on a week day. We love the toddler area, wish there was maybe one more bouncy option for the youngers, but definitely not a complaint! For $400 it wasn't really all that great. It was congested with alot of people. We got dinged on the time. If a party is running late it comes off of your time which is what happened to us. Then we were expected to be out of there exactly on time. Our host was very very nice but also very slow. I know the place was probably understaffed. So we got dinged for it. Totally unfair and so totally a rip off. They should offer a partial refund. The pizza took forever to come. Not enough drinks or water. Our host was no where to be found at times. ( I know he was busy with other parties) Barely got to cut the cake and eat it then we were asked to leave.....so he could cleanup. So we left but we felt a bit gyped...... read more

We recently moved to Lexington and were looking for something to do with our toddler daughter on a rainy day. I found Monkey Joes on Yelp and called to confirm that they did, in fact, have a designated toddler area for kids who are 3 and younger. We were disappointed with the amenities provided in the 'Mini Monkey Zone'. There were multiple items that were broken or out of order. On top of that, the little slide and a lot of things were dirty and grungy and not well maintained. Still, I probably would have still given the place a 3 out of 5 stars. They do offer a small bounce area for toddlers. As long as your toddler is under 2, I wouldn't have minded paying the $5 for her to play (I DO NOT think the Mini Monkey Area is worth it if you have to pay $7-8). What really upset my husband and I is the fact that despite multiple large signs stating rules for the different areas, Monkey Joes does not enforce the signs. There are not supposed to be kids over 3 in the toddler area - but the entire 2 hours we were there the area was overrun with 5-7 year olds. They were pegging each other with the toddler toys and rough housing all over the place. One large girl almost trampled my daughter and I finally had to step in and stop her from rolling a large cylinder into my child. There were other parents (some who appeared to be parents to the older kids) watching as well, but most of them were sitting and eating with their faces buried in smartphones or iPads. All of the Monkey Joes employees were grouped together at the front and none of them ever walked around for the two hours we were there. I understand there is to be individual parental supervision, but if a business states there is an area for 3 years and younger, I feel they should monitor the different areas and ensure children's safety isn't at risk. We won't be returning. read more

Monkey Joes is a lot of fun! And if you have not been in awhile they have mixed things up a bit. They have age appropriate areas for safe play for all ages of kids. They also typically have several "refs" monitoring the play. Not much fun for adults though unless you have a book to read or your phone to play on. Most jumps do not allow adults and jumps that allow adults do not allow adults to jump. It is also too loud to really have a conversation or to hear the TV in the parent area. Plan your day well since once you leave you are done. And don't forget socks for your kids. Pros: lots o' fun, kids always take great naps on MJ days, food at decent prices, great air flow/temp, toddler area, free wifi Cons: no in/out privileges, food is poor quality, adults are not allowed to jump or play (only assist 4 and under), very loud I would give five stars if in/out was allowed. read more

Bring cash with you. It's like an arcade that charges admission. So if you like paying at the door, then paying over and over again for games and rides you will love this place. They have a few inflatable bouncy slides, and horrible diabetes inducing "food". Free WiFi. read more

We just recently went for my step sons birthday and we will not be taking our younger kids back. The bigger kids caused my son to almost break his neck by going around him climbing up a ladder to a slide as the employees stood and watched. Then a caught a kid get behind my 4 year old son and act like he was humping him and when I yelled for him to stop he just ran off. I tried to find him and his parents but to my surprise I think he was just dropped off or something because he just walked out the door after they cut his wrist band off... I was furious. He had to have been 12-13 years old. The little girl I told didn't do a single thing other than say oh my god are you serious...... obviously I was serious or I wouldn't have said anything.... I'm just scared what could have happened if I wouldn't have been standing there watching my son and been like the other parents just sitting at a table with there faces buried in there phone..... 90% of the kids run around knocking kids over and pushing kids off ladders and there parents don't say a word. So if your kids are smaller I recommend finding somewhere else to go because the area for small kids if that's what you want to call it is a joke.... read more

Monkey joes is a really fun place to take the kids. It's actually the only place I go with my family where I can be a kid with them. The food is mediocre and all, but guess what? It's not a restaurant. The only thing I will say is that the cotton candy machines music sucks. read more

We took our 1 year old for the first time yesterday. First question we asked when we walked in was -because she is young, could we get on the equipment with her? We were told yes. Only reason we stayed, otherwise we would've left. My mother in law was in a bounce house with my daughter, and was HOLDING my daughter's hand while she jumped (not even moving), and the manager (I guess?) comes running over and tells my mother in law if she wants to be in the bounce house she has to stand in a corner and observe instead of assisting my daughter with jumping and enjoying the bounce house. So, we decided to leave because of it. They were spending so much time trolling adults, when the manager really should have been watching her own child who was beating monkey joe up. Shame. We could've had fun, but instead we went to Kids place where you REALLY can get on the equipment with your child and you're not being trolled by employees every few minutes. Horrible customer service! They advertised "family night" with a pizza dinner for $10. They actually order the pizza from an outside vendor, and don't make it themselves. I arrived with my girlfriends and 3 two year olds after daycare at 6pm and tried to order the dinner. The staff at monkey joes (including the manager) said they stopped ordering at 6 (not advertised) and were not flexible in allowing us to get food for our kids! I will not be coming back, given better places in town that are better at providing a welcoming environment for kids and families!!! read more
