We visited Daytona Beach for the Fourth of July weekend and wanted to find a great breakfast spot before heading back home. Whenever we travel, we always check Yelp to see which restaurants are highly rated, and this one was among the top two recommendations. After comparing the photos and reviews, we decided to give it a try and we're so glad we did! This restaurant did not disappoint. It has a warm, Southern country charm that made us feel right at home. The food was delicious, our meals arrived quickly, and the portions were generous. I found this place on Yelp after getting off a cruise in Port Canaveral and heading back to Jacksonville. We typically go to a place in St. Augustine when we do this cruise trip several times per year but decided to change it up. I will say the guy who answered the phone and was also our waiter, was very nice, but thought they were 2 miles off 95 when they are actually 4 miles, but it was a straight shot and worth it. Small locally owned place, which is what we love, and the food and service is good. We started with the pigs in blankets for my hubby and son and they enjoyed them. I'm a vegetarian so we also tried the fried pickles and those were the star of the show! Absolutely delicious! ( I forgot to photograph those two dishes unfortunately). Hubby had the club with fries and thought it was OK, but not great. The meat seemed a bit cheaper quality. Our son had the Cuban sandwich with fries and thought it was good. I had the garden omelette minus the onions, wheat toast and hash browns. The omelet was very good unfortunately the hash browns tasted like meat though so I didn't eat those. I'm sure everything is cooked on the same griddle. I also had a mimosa. They serve their breakfast and lunch menu all day during hours. This spot is a perfect little family owned place with great service and food. They were on a wait list when we left. I would recommend you check them out! read more

Good Breakfast -- The Biscuits & Gravy Are the Winner! Good coffee and great, friendly service. My eggs were a little overcooked, but I'll take that over undercooked any day. The hash was canned, but they did a surprisingly good job crisping it up without ruining the texture. I love a grilled English muffin, and while ours wasn't grilled, that's something we'll know to ask for next time. But the feature of this breakfast was absolutely the homemade biscuits and gravy. WOW!! Those biscuits had the perfect crispy edges, and the gravy actually had flavor! That's harder to find than you'd think--even in the Midwest where we know a thing or two about biscuits and gravy. Winner!! One random observation: the décor in the women's restroom was... weird. Definitely an interesting decorating choice! Overall, good coffee, great service, and biscuits and gravy that are absolutely worth coming back for. read more

Homemade biscuits, made from scratch hollandaise for the eggs benny, large portions, etc. Add to that the owner greeting everyone, coming by every table and even sitting and explaining the menu to tables and this place is the real deal! Very casual! Food was Great! Mimosas were huge for only seven dollars. You can pick your choice of either orange juice, cranberry or pineapple or mix them like I did with pineapple and cranberry juice very friendly. We walked in with our Philly Eagles Jerseys on and the hostess tells me that their kitchen manager Angel is a big Waglea fan! They even played the Eagles song on and there were a few Bords fans! Angel came out and yelled "Go Birds" as we replied as well! We had a very fun time here. Can't wait to go back but this time for lunch so we can tried the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich! Popped in for a quick bite and really glad we did. Love that the owners were on site and working right along with their staff, how cool is that!! My wife got the Chicken & Waffle with a side egg and side of fruit. The egg was perfectly over medium. The fruit was fresh and still had snap but whoever cut the pineapple needs to learn what the core looks like and to chuck it, even the waitress was a bit shocked and said yeah that's obviously core. The waffle had a good crunch but was just slightly doughy inside, another few seconds in the iron would've been perfect. The chicken was supposed to be 2 tenders but was a breast instead, a little rubbery and the breading was too salty. She said we can eat here again but she knows what she won't order. I got the Can't Decide and chose bacon, biscuit & gravy to go with the egg. Egg was perfectly over medium, bacon wonderfully crisp, hash browns crisp and the pull they used wasn't too old and the gravy was smooth with no clumps and perfectly peppered. The biscuit was "off" (LOL, I'm not sure how else to word it) it was like it was 2 super thin biscuits one on top of the other instead of 1 fluffy one. Couldn't totally see the separation due to gravy quantity but could kinda tell on my fork and could definitely tell on my tongue. Whatever it was the one on top had a nice crispy outer and both were that perfect mix of flour and salt. Upon leaving my wife looked at the receipt and got fairly teed. Thev online menu shows free refills for sweet tea and $1 refills on juice. We each had a refill and paid full price. We hope when you visit that the owner is there and Kokomo comes on the radio. LOL it was breakfast and a sing along. For the atmosphere and the service we will return here at some point. We'll just keep a super close eye on the check and the wife will make a different choice. This is a throwback to the 70's. Friendly, warm atmosphere and a huge menu. The food was basic and good. They claim to have a great potato salad, but the batch we had, had pretty firm pieces of potato. We told the waitress and change's to something else. Came here for the reviews. It has easy parking. Came on a Monday and was sat right away. Ordered the veggie omelet and sausage. The omelet was okay, but bland. The sourdough bread tasted like it had cooking spray on it instead of butter. I will say the portions are very generous. My husband had the potatoes and they were crispy as asked. Service was decent. We always like to try new places for breakfast and this one did not disappoint. Walking in the door it had a very friendly atmosphere. We were immediately greeted and seated. We had our option of breakfast or lunch so we chose breakfast. However, my sister likes deep fried mushrooms so we had to order them. Meh. The batter was too heavy and they were not evenly cooked with one being very cold inside. Hard pass. I had avocado toast and a side of bacon. It was on sour dough bread with a balsamic drizzle. I ate the whole thing. Another sister had two eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast and a single pancake. Nothing was left. The other sister had eggs Benedict and cheesy grits along with a Bloody Mary and hot coffee. Same result. Yum. All in all it's a great place to go. Also chose the home fries. The service so far is quick and friendly. It has the typical diner atmosphere where they always have a friendly greeting. It is not large but a good size for a diner. The crowd was an older one which was not a bad thing. Here is my food looks good. Oh good home style cooking.
