Eatontown's Monmouth Mall is where I would always go for some much needed alone time as the sprawling retail center slowly became an obsolete echo chamber plagued by rampant vacancies and a darkened food court that challenges my cataracts. Something had to give... It seems their owner Kushner Properties (helmed by Jared Kushner, aka Mr. Ivanka Trump) had a better idea... tear down half of it, tear the roof off the other half and turn the entire complex into a luxury townhome/open air shopping district. An interesting idea but as someone who grew up a mere stones throw from the Nanuet Mall in downstate New York, my first reaction is... who in their right mind wants to live at the mall? As many have often observed, New Jersey is nothing more than a 150 mile strip mall with the occasional home thrown in to break up the monotony. Whatever you think of him, Kushner's a smart guy but I suspect he wouldn't be caught dead twenty feet from the food court and slumming it at the Panda Express. It should be interesting. Nevertheless, five stars for trying something new. read more

I've been living in this area for years and it seems like this mall is going downhill. A lot of the shops have closed, just to name one Ruby Tuesdays. I must also include JCPenney's, an anchor here for many years, is closing 10/23/22. Maybe this mall is seeing the effects of online purchases. Even the food mart it's not crowded. read more

Since my last review nothing much has changed here and neither has my Opinion of it the most notable thing still remains the Suncoast and of course the AMC theater. I'll even give it Johnny Rockets this time around. There's just aren't enough unique stores - No Microsoft/apple store? It does have some adjacent restaurants but some you have to leave the mall to access which I suppose isn't a huge deal, but why? The other thing that sticks out is the amount of empty store fronts, I counted about 4 or so and two of them were converted into rest areas with couches and chairs. Is the mall in trouble? Also only a designated area for, wifi? Come on my local mall has WiFi throughout. Not a big problem, but when doing a comparison like that it loses out. The big thing about this mall, like many others is convience. It's right in the crossroads of many large towns - Asbury, Eatontown? Long Branch to name a few. read more

Not an amazing mall, but not terrible either. The highlight is the suncoast video store which is still in business and probably one of the last few in the country. Its just like a FYE but smaller. Funkos, dvds, candy and movie merchandise. Not that good of a store, but its nice to see it still running. Other highlights are the dollar store which have plenty of PPE stocked up along with other deals you can save compared to going to cvs or walgreens. The Boscovs is pretty nice with 3 floors of merchandise and a candy section on top! Smaller than most malls and you can walk both corridors end to end in 10-15 minutes. The food court needs a lot of work. Very dim and the vibe is very off. The only place that was busy was the chik fil a, no lines at the other spots. There were some vacancies so hopefully theyll add another couple of food stalls soon. Parking will never be an issue since there are plenty of lots with multiple entrances. Careful on the way out if youre not an ez pass user, the full service booth wasnt open on turnpike north and exact change was the only option. $1.90 in coins is not very easy. read more

I do enjoy this mall one of my go-to places to spend time with friends, it is not what it use to be years ago, but i do enjoy it as a place to walk around, and grab a bite to eat. some of the stores are closing, for many reasons but it reminds me of the old times when we were kids and would go hang out at the mall. i love the food chains in the food court, Burger King is one of my favorite places to eat. compared to other malls it is great, it is smaller than other places but the Lowes theaters is also a big plus of why i come here. i wish it would stay this way but the owners seem to want to turn the mall into a live and work place like in Pier Village which saddens me. i wish they would leave things the way they are. also, the pandemic seemed to cause issues for the mall as well. read more

Monmouth Mall - Macy's at the Monmouth mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Eatontown, New Jersey

Monmouth Mall is worth a visit, but only if you happen to be in the area. I like how it's generally not crowded, even on a Sunday. The wide open space really helps, especially when I have to push a stroller around with my one year old. A general lack of crowding also means that checkout at every store is quite quick, and the entire shopping experience is very efficient. The selection isn't huge, however. The way that the escalators are built, with stairs but no ramp, initially restricted our movement, but we discovered an elevator to the side of the escalators. There is a Barnes and Noble bookstore! A very rare sight indeed. We went to the AMC theater a few years ago and found it just ok. Have fun! read more

Beautiful mall, but layout, dear Lord, is it confusing There are so many disproportined, tuns in the mall, to get from one store to the other. The mall is super clean, and spotless, but to have for example American Eagle on one side, have a bunch of restaurants next door, on the other side Old Navy, than you have to walk on the other end to get to another group of stores, and vice versa very confusing. However, it does have most stores I do want to see at malls. H & M, American Eagle , Hollister, Old Navy. All the mall staples. It definitely is a beautiful mall, in the end. Also, there are way too many vacant spots in the mall, I counted maybe at least 6 to 8. There are so many more malls to visit, that I'm not sure 'll come back! read more

This is one of my favorite malls. There used to be two malls in this area: Monmouth Mall (this one) and Seaview Square Mall that was further down the highway. Seaview Square Mall slowly but surely closed due to most deciding to head to Monmouth Mall. Now some are saying that this mall is starting to slow down just like Seavuew Square Mall. Idk whether to believe them or just see it as people on the internet complaining and being negative. As a regular mall goer there was nothing even remotely interesting about a Suncoast Video store. Yes, it was cool to go out and buy new movies on the weekend to watch at home with your lady. However, my favorite store at this mall has always been Macy's. There used to be a Lord and Taylor's but that store closed due to its outdated clothing. Hopefully I can visit this mall again soon. I always enjoyed shopping here. read more

They were doing a LOT of renovation the first time I went here and I haven't been back since so I wouldn't be able to tell you if it made the place any better. But being from NY, I just feel like everything in NY is better than NJ. lol I'm biased. So what!? But I went into Monmouth with an open mind..excited to be out of NY for a little bit. My younger cousin (who I was rolling around with on my trip to NJ) told me a million times Monmouth was not THEE mall to go to. She prefers Freehold but that was a bit far so we made do. Needless to say it's a mall. There are a bunch of stores and places to eat. It was pretty clean even though they were renovating. It wasn't too crowded which is always a plus for me. It isn't a very big mall. But maybe since the renovations it's better. Not too many crazy people walking around. It was pretty quiet. I'd say go for it. If you're looking for something to wear in a clutch fashion emergency I don't see why one could not come here. It'll get the job done. read more

This is a nice mall. The mall has been updated over past few years. As of late, they continually change and stay with the times of customers. The mall is of an average size in that it is not too large and not too small. They have my favorite anchor stores such as JcPenney, Macy's and my favorite: Lord & Taylor!!!!! How could you go wrong from your shopping enjoyment with these stores? I think not, however I am not under 25!!!! While I am still the mall girl from being a young kind and can hang out in the mall all day, I'm not sure that the mall is trendy enough for the youth of today. With that said, these are the opinions of someone over "a certain age"! Lol :) Giving 4 stars as I can not determine if the mall is perfect for the youth of today, but all in all this mall meets my needs & is without a doubt a great place to shop and to hang. read more

I grew up with Monmouth Mall, and I have seen it go through many phases. I remember when it was only a little strip mall and it was in the process of being built-up to rival Seaview. Monmouth Mall is still alive and kicking. It has a lot of trendy eateries on the perimeter (Bobby's Burger Palace, Joe's Crab Shack, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc.) in addition to the numerous options inside the mall. The food court has ample seating which is spaced out very nicely if you seek privacy. It has great anchor department stores in Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Boscov's, and JC Penney. There is no shortage of Shoe/Sneaker stores in this mall - Foot Action, Champ Sports, Foot Locker, Journeys, Shi, Finish Line, Aldo, Journeys Kids, Kids Foot Locker, Payless, Shoe Dept, Modells, and there are other stores that sell shoes not listed (think Zumiez, Old Navy, and the Dept. Stores...). One of my favorite things about Monmouth Mall is the movie theater! AMC/Loews (or Sony for those of us who remember), has an entrance from the mall and has a little arcade. read more

Monmouth Mall is alright. Overall, it's pretty average. No stores in the mall blow you away, and my main complaint is that the layout is really weird. There seems to be escalators placed directly in the middle of the mall, which makes it a little difficult to navigate. I appreciate that there's a movie theater and the Barnes & Noble, and they also have some pretty good restaurants. Overall, it's nice to have a shopping mall in this area because the nearest one is probably Freehold which is a little far, but it's nothing spectacular in my opinion. read more

The Monmouth Mall is one of the older Malls in our area --- but it has been significantly updated in recent years for the better. It has basically everything you would expect to find at a mall. -- all the stores you want, a food court, and a movie theater. Personally I will always prefer to going to a local store to meet my needs --- You can find just about everything you need shopping in Red Bank and the nearby Grove in Shrewsbury --- but if you are looking for the under one roof chain store shopping experience, the Monmouth Mall is the place to go. read more

What happened? I went to Boscov's (one of my favorite stores) and decided to walk through the mall. Most stores closed, desolate to the point of creepy. This mall is not far from my place in Eatontown, so its a convenient drive. The mall is clean and has some decent shops, just not the best selection. They have some of the typical "mall stores". There is plenty of parking, but you may have ot walk a bit, on a Sunday. I am just not overly impressed, or dissatisfied with this mall so I gave it an OK. read more

Nothing special about this mall.. Chikfila or Firebirds are the best restaurants. Not the best stores but they have the essentials. It's a hangout for kids at night and on the weekend which is pretty annoying. Shoe stores are fully stocked with Jordans. read more

Monmouth Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Eatontown, New Jersey

The Monmouth Mall is quite a good Mall. It is anchored by AMC Theaters, Boscov's, JCPenney, Lord & Taylor, & Macy's. The mall is one-floor with a section of 2-floors. Boscov's, JCPenney, & Macy's have 3 floors, while Lord & Taylor has 2, and AMC has 1. The variety in the mall is actually really good. The selection of stores aren't to upscale. It's a good balance of cheap and expensive stores. There's also Old Navy, H&M, Forever 21(2 floors), & Modell's Sporting Goods(2 floors) as junior anchors. There's also Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, The Children's Place, Gymboree(which is closing unfortunately), Hollister Co., PacSun, Zumiez, Cohen Fashion Optical, & more. There's even 2 seating areas replacing old stores, it's a cool and inventive. The food court in the mall is updated with some great eateries like Chick-Fil-A, Frozen Peaks, Little Tokyo, Burger King, & more! It though could use an Italian eatery in the food court, I think a Sbarro or Villa Pizza used to be in the food court but closed which stinks. The staff at the Monmouth Mall is nice. The staff at Lord & Taylor were very welcoming, and the people at H&M looked like they knew the layout of the store well. The staff at Chick-Fil-A were very kind. Parking was easy when I went. We went to the mall at around 10:50AM and we're at Macy's to park first but they weren't many spots close to the entrance, and then we looked at Boscov's which fortunately had parking spots near the entrance. The Boscov's was so nice, it has a whole toy department which you don't see much anymore, a vast children's department, a huge women's and men's department, and a gigantic furniture and housewear department. There was even a candy counter with truffles! The flooring in the whole mall is nice and the mall has natural lighting. But lots of the storefronts are dated. Not that it matters that much, but it was just an observation I made. The mall to me is equal to Freehold Raceway Mall only because of it having Boscov's, and a Barnes & Noble. The Freehold Raceway Mall has a good Old Navy, Primark, & Crazy 8 so I think they compare pretty well. All in all I would come back here, and I think you all should try coming to this mall. Threading place is cash only with the only ATM on the other side of the mall, the nail salon upstairs never ever ever has anyone available no matter what time of day and once gave me the most horrific acrylic nails I've ever seen in my entire life. This mall is really not good. Lord and Taylor is the best department store in it and it's not even that great. Also there is no zara, we need a zara here! The chain stores are on the cheaper side such as Forever21 (if you love it then this mall actually has a really big one), h&m, Aldo, Old Navy, Gap etc. The food court is really bad but you can always grab a chipotle in the same shopping center but they make you leave the actual mall to get to it. read more

The Monmouth Mall is an okay mall, but it's a little run-down. It used to be the place to be, but in recent years it's started getting a little trashy-looking. Freehold Mall is much better, honestly. Pros - Monmouth Mall has an H&M while Freehold does not (yet), so it does have an advantage over Freehold Mall in that sense. The Boscov's here is also really great, it is the biggest in NJ and has a lot of cool stuff, it even still has a toy department - most dept. stores took those out a long time ago. The Disney Store here is also the biggest I've ever seen in a mall, they made it out to look like a gift shop you'd see in Disney World or like a smaller version of the NYC Disney Store - really great store. Parking is also plentiful. It is also conveniently located right next to the shore. Cons - The quality of the stores is mediocre, the best store here is probably H&M. For the most part the stores here are cheap, low-quality clothing stores or just typical mall stores. The Macy's here is really dumpy and the movie theater is downright scary at night. The food court is really terrible, they really have nothing to offer. The Burlington Coat Factory here is ghetto-looking. The mall is also very dark looking and is kind of dirty. Overall it's an okay mall, not the best in the area but it does have some good stores, however for the most part, the mall leaves a lot to be desired. There is no bookstore, very few restaurants (just Ruby Tuesday and Chile's) and a lack of any name brands. I have heard they are expanding the mall to add a Barnes & Noble and a few restaurants though which is good. Now they just need to give it a facelift, add some better stores and this mall will be set. read more

One of the smaller malls in the area, but still useful for your shopping needs. Looks like it has recently been remodeled. They have a few anchor stores like Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Boscov's, and JC Penney Decent sized food court. Of course on the outer section on the mall there is a Bobby's Burger Palace, Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Firebirds. Outside of this, they have your run of the mill mall stores. It has most of the standard mall staples, including a Barnes & Noble, a Macy's, a very good Lord & Taylor (with a massive marble wall to one side of the store's entrance) and, thank goodness, a Chick-fil-A. The renovations definitely help, but it was so clearly built in the 1970s, with just mostly some touch-ups since then. (Think long, low corridors, with little natural light.) This is your standard "better" mall. Not as massive as Garden State Plaza or as upscale as the Shops at Riverside or Short Hills, but it suits most of my needs. read more

I live just down the street and worked here throughout my entire youth so I may be a little biased. It has All your basics and some extra. I don't feel like I'm missing anything here, but it is by no means extravagant with its store selection. Ventured to this mall. Straight to Lord and Taylor, my favorite store. This is a Terrible Lord and Taylor! No customer service. I was trying to get help in the shoe department and no one was around. After my daughter aggressively looked for a sales person she found 4 of them hanging out in a corner talking. They came to work but not to make a sale. Finally a lady helped us, got the shoe we needed the biggest turn off was she was VAPING! Yes VAPING! I guess smoking is ok at this shore while working. Another customer couldn't believe it either. She informed me this location will be closing soon! I guess L&T just gave up on this location. Won't return to this mall! read more
