Something had to give... It seems their owner Kushner Properties (helmed by Jared Kushner, aka Mr. Ivanka Trump) had a better idea... tear down half of it, tear the roof off the other half and turn the entire complex into a luxury townhome/open air shopping district. An interesting idea but as someone who grew up a mere stones throw from the Nanuet Mall in downstate New York, my first reaction is... who in their right mind wants to live at the mall? As many have often observed, New Jersey is nothing more than a 150 mile strip mall with the occasional home thrown in to break up the monotony. Whatever you think of him, Kushner's a smart guy but I suspect he wouldn't be caught dead twenty feet from the food court and slumming it at the Panda Express. It should be interesting. It makes absolutely no sense and completely defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. The whole process is frustrating, inefficient, and unnecessarily time-consuming.
