The facility is spacious with an inviting room for children, quiet areas for adults and excellent meeting rooms. The Library is clean, organized and welcoming. There is a full monthly schedule of activities for all, both during the day and in the evenings. In addition, the staff listens to the needs/wants of the public and responds by scheduling workshops requested. I have attended various workshops at the library including yoga, talks and a concert, just to name a few. I am very impressed with this library! Thank you Rostraver Library for serving the community in such a beautiful way!

The building is beautiful, and every time I visit I notice something new. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and willing to help, which makes the library feel comfortable and inviting. What I appreciate most is that there are so many activities and events that are free or very low cost. There are plenty of programs for teens, families, and adults, and everyone is welcome. It's definitely worth the drive from the suburbs if you're looking for a unique place to spend a few hours. Between the architecture, the helpful staff, and all the community events, it's one of the coolest libraries I've visited. I wish I would have known about this place when my boys were little, it would be a great stop after visiting the museum.

I could spend all day just in that section. You can look at (and check out) all sorts of things from musical scores, concert programs, newspaper clippings and more. They even have instruments you can check out! I don't think there is any other library in the area that offers this sort of department. There is something for everyone here (and then some!). I've been here with my kids when they were babies and have taken them here for a variety of programs or even just to stop in when we are in the area. There are plenty of places to relax and enjoy your book (including a cafe) but lots of quiet nooks and seating areas as well. There is no parking lot specific to the library, but there is a ton of metered parking in the area. I highly recommend visiting this library, especially if you are looking for something unique. Or even just to enjoy some quiet time in a beautiful space.

It's like I'm in a rental video store, but wait all the DVDs are FREE (to borrow that is)! They have a great selection of DVDs and a decent selection of CDs. I definitely come here for their DVD selection. In terms of their books, I've always been able to find what I'm looking for. They have audio books available and various programs throughout the year. They also have an afternoon and evening book club. It's great in that the book selections are always diverse and they also provide you with a book to read if you don't already own it. I really like that part - b/c although I LOVE reading books, I'm not a fan of buying them b/c unless they become one of my favorites, I only read it once and then it sits around my room collecting dust and sadness. They have a great space and I think it's laid out pretty well. There are computers set up downstairs and upstairs for searches if you need to know where to look for materials. They also have an online systems that you can place "holds" on books, cds, and DVDs - it's like an Amazon.com but for FREE. Do you notice a reoccurring theme with me and FREE - I love Libraries!

There is an Librarian who works there that is horrible with customer service, speaks down to…read morepatrons, uses friends to lie and say that the patron was rude, when she has no professionalism when I the patron asked a basic question of how and why I had been deleted not only from the computer but also the card, when in 2019 I had used my library card at the library, and of course 2020 was the pandemic, yet, I am told if you did not use your library card in three years your profile is deleted from the computer, and the card you filled out to join the library over 20 years ago is destroyed. Now you have to rejoin the Monessen Public Library, even though it was only a year during the pandemic that you did not use your library card.

Quiet space in which was nice to take a moment and relax. The staff, particularly Dan, were most helpful in reserving a meeting room for me to conduct a job interview. Very much took me back 40 decades to childhood memories of a place of endless adventures and timeless stories. Libraries should be a safe space for everyone to explore the world and themselves. They called the cops on innocent children that were just sitting there playing on the computer…read more Made the youngest child cry in fear because they did nothing wrong Then when the kids were leaving the librarians were laughing at the children So mature lol And as always cant check the video coverage because that's at the south park police department and since they go along with one anothers words they wont do anything but believe the wrong people and not the kids or other people involved. So I know that wont do me any good. For that reason I go on here and post things as I see it and take it..... Wish they would get new fresh caring people in the library because when you get old and warn down doing the same job every day and they get use to doing the same job everything becomes the same when actually nothing really is in the real world!! I Wright the truth and nothing but the truth about a business I wasn't going to let my kids go back to that place but they have absolutely nothing to do I dont want my kids in trouble or having problems with people for no reason I as a mom want my kids safe and where I know there at and not running the roads breaking the laws or getting hurt. So when my child goes to the library just to get out a librarian told him he couldn't be there because of what I posted about them. That is from what I seen going through the laws on line is illegal and you cant make an innocent child leave a place of business that a parent posted the truth about. I told my son if the librarian says anything just leave I dont want him in the middle of what I said about them. Dont get children involved with what you did These are kids that are looking to just play on the computer and be with the few friends they need to be around at the time away from home. The Monroeville Library very much is a hub of activity for the community! There is always…read moresomething going on for people of all ages and interests! Take a look at the calendar and you will find crafting classes (I've made jewelry, painted, made a scarecrow wreath), attended talks on local and national political issues, heard from Holocaust survivors and been entertained by magicians and musicians. They have foreign language classes, game nights and even karaoke! The upper floor is the "adult" section where they have all the books and media geared towards adults. It also houses event rooms, computers and the maker space. I think one of my favorite and unique things about this library is all the unique things you can take out. They have everything from cake decorating kits to power tools! Even outdoor games. They also have a fabric "library" where you can grab fabric, threads and patterns for free for your sewing or other project needs. The downstairs level has an events space and the children's room. The children's room is always a buzz with activity and in addition to a lot of books, they also have a puppet theater and tons of educational toys to keep your little ones occuped. The only down side to the library is that the parking lot is at the side of the building. If you have acceccibility needs, there are a few spaces close to the entrance, but otherwise you have a short walk down the sidewalk to get into the main entrance. I love our local library and hope everyone knows about and takes advantage of all of its amazing materials and services.

They have different areas for kids, books, computers, for sale books, for rent items such as tools or cricut, rooms, and even offered food pantry items if needed. The bathrooms were dirty and small. There was a long line due to the lack of stalls. Customer service was OK. I'd come back though!
