Minnie Van - It's back!!

Minnie Van is Disney's brand of rideshare vehicles that offers transportation within the Walt…read moreDisney World Resort. The service started some years back, then stopped during COVID and was re-launched in June 2022. I have utilized Minnie Vans multiple times throughout my visits and have always had a positive experience. Disney partners with Lyft to execute the Minnie Vans; if you're on property, Minnie Vans will be a vehicle option to choose once you open the app and input your destination. When it launched there was one set price no matter where you were going, though recently I noticed that the price varies based on your destination. Minnie Van has a number of features that sets it apart from a typical Lyft. First and foremost, the drivers are Disney Cast Members, not Lyft employees, so the customer service is at a different level. They are also very sociable and will engage you in conversation during your ride. The cars are consistently clean, can seat up to seven, and offer extra features like a car seat and charging plugs for a variety of phone types. I've never had to wait too long for a car - maybe 10 to 12 minutes at the most during the busy periods. The only drawback (if you can call it one) is the price. Minnie Vans are a premium service and charge a premium price. In a way it's a little ridiculous - the prices are 3 to 4 times more than a typical Lyft to the same destination, and for that reason I would only utilize it if I have money to spend and it would be a big inconvenience for me to get to my destination otherwise (like going from resort to resort). The ride is a great experience, it's just really expensive. Overall, Minnie Vans is a great service - there are many features that elevate it above a typical rideshare, and it has that Disney touch that adds to the experience. The price will keep me from using it regularly while on property, but I'm glad that the option is there.

The transportation and ticket center is the central transportation hub for magic kingdom. If you…read moredrove to Magic Kingdom, then you will end up here. The parking lot of Magic Kingdom is massive! This is my issue with it, its so large, that's fine, but they never have enough trams to pick up people. You end up waiting and then are jammed on the tram. Once you get to the front of the ticket center you have to go through security. This is another issue, they only have one line. There are so many people and one line! It's crazy! The ticket center also has ticket booths, but I would recommend buying your ticket ahead of time. Once you are past security you have three options to get to the parks: you can 1. Take the monorail to Magic Kingdom, 2. Take the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom or 3. Take the monorail to EPCOT. This is also the spot if you are park hoping from Magic to EPCOT or vice versa. You can also get to the monorail resorts from here. Overall this is fine, you kind of have no option if you drive to Magic Kingdom. Chances are you will go through here at some point. It's fine, its large and has all you need to get to the parks.

If you are visiting Magic Kingdom, then this is where you are headed. It is the only option if you…read moredrive, to get to Magic Kingdom. The transportation and ticket center is the main hub, it is attached to the parking lot which is giant. Once you get here, you have 3 options. 1. Take the monorail to Magic Kingdom 2. Take the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom 3. Take the monorail to EPCOT And then on really busy days or when there are issues with the Ferry or Monorail, they have buses to take you to Magic Kingdom. This is fine, there is not much to say about it. You have to come through here when you drive to Magic Kingdom. If you plan on ending the day at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, (park hoping to both), I would suggest parking here. It is easy to hop via the monorail from Magic to EPCOT. You can also purchase tickets here but the lines are long in the morning. I would also recommend getting your tickets before heading to the park. They also have security checkpoint here, so you will go through security, but then when you get to the park you do not have to go through again, you have already done it. The security line can get long, they usually funnel everyone into one line which is slightly annoying. Its so large and so many people, they need to have multiple lines open. My real issue with this place is the parking. The parking lot is so large and the rows are so long. They never have enough trams taking you up to the ticket center. You end up having to wait forever in the morning and then again at night. You can walk but it can potentially be a really long walk depending on where you park. But you will see it if you drive to Magic Kingdom.

The bus stop at Riviera was a short walk from the hotel entrance. It was covered and had comfortable seating. It didn't take long for a bus to arrive--5 to 10 minutes tops--and both the station and the bus itself were relatively empty. This was on a non-holiday Monday around 10:45 AM, well after the early-morning rush. Side note: The bus is the only direct way to get to Magic Kingdom from Disney's Riviera Resort. Even when the Skyliner is running, it only services EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The process at the Magic Kingdom Bus Station was smooth and efficient. The station is located right at the park's front gates, meaning you bypass the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) entirely. While the station was much more crowded than the hotel stop, the guest flow was well-managed. We never hit a snag and were able to tap into the park quickly using our MagicBands+. If you aren't in a hurry to make it for the park's opening, mid-morning is an ideal time to use the bus system.

I saw most companies charging at least $50 one way. Lyft and Uber were charging $60+ one way. I went on trip advisor and someone suggested this company. So I booked it. Booking process: I went online. Filled out the form as to arrival time, airline used, flight number, cruise ship name, etc. They emailed me back giving me all the details as to where to find them upon arrival into MCO, with clear pictures, and was instructed to reply to the email to complete the reservation. Which I did and then got a reply that the booking was complete. Airport arrival: We did exactly what the instructions stated and found a very friendly lady with a clipboard at the designated pick up spot. She checked us in. We paid $40 each in cash for the 2 of us and got a receipt. You can use a credit card too. We loaded our luggage into the vehicle and it was a 45 min ride to the port. The shuttle: Cloth, cozy seats, air conditioned, clean, ample aisle space, but not much leg room. It had about 25-30 seats. Arrival at the port: Communication was nil upon arrival. Everyone just got off the shuttle and went to get their luggage. But most of us were standing around unsure what to do next. It was our first cruise, we had no idea that there are guys that come and tag your luggage with your name and cabin number and then deliver it to your cabin. We also didn't know we had to go to that same area to look for Cortrans to go back to MCO when we get back from our cruise. I just wish the driver or the greeter said something. Regardless, we figured it out and went on our way. Leaving the port: We found a friendly gentleman with a Cortrans clipboard at the same area we initially got dropped off at. We checked in with him with our last name. Loaded up our luggage and went on our way to MCO. Before leaving, the driver introduced himself to everyone, I believe his name was Ahmed, and told us where exactly he'll be dropping us all off, where to go when we arrive into the airport, and what to do when we get there. He had us wait in the shuttle while he unloaded everyone's luggage. I appreciated that. THANK YOU Ahmed! Overall, it was a pleasant and smooth experience. I would definitely use their transportation services again the next time I need to go to Port Canaveral.

Magic Kingdom Monorail - Me with a sprinkle of magic

We took…read morethe monorail from Magic Kingdom to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and then transferred to the EPCOT line to get to EPCOT. We had no issues. The Magic Kingdom Monorail Station is located just outside the entrance to Magic Kingdom. You can't miss it. I think the 12 Mark VI (Mk6) monorail trains look cool. They're sort of retro-futuristic, at least for the time they were rolled out (1989-1991). Interesting Fact: While they look identical, Monorail Peach (which joined the fleet in 2011) has a unique history. It was constructed using the undamaged center cars from the retired Pink and Purple trains following an accident in 2009, with two brand-new cabs built to finish it off. Because it was "reborn" from the parts of two other trains, many Disney fans have nicknamed it the "Phoenix" train. If you want to see if you're on the "Phoenix," look for the peach-colored stripe. As of April 2024, it also features new black deltas (the small triangular accents on the stripe) and a completely refurbished interior with updated black flooring and fresh seat padding. It's one of the sharpest-looking trains in the 2026 fleet. In general, I found the trains to be on time, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The stations were well-marked, and the guest flow was handled efficiently by staff. Finally, the Cast Members who operated the trains and manned the stations were polite and courteous. The Pilots even wave at you as the trains enter the stations. All of this is what you expect from Disney (high standards). Tip: If you're heading to EPCOT, try to get a window seat. The EPCOT line does a full loop around Spaceship Earth and the World Celebration area before pulling into the station. It's a nice elevated view of the park's new gardens and architecture that were completed in 2024.

Seeing the monorail gliding high in the sky just makes me feel so good!…read more The Magic Kingdom Monorail is one of those quintessential Disney experiences that makes you feel like you're really at Walt Disney World. It's not just transportation, it's part of the magic. The sleek, futuristic trains gliding around Seven Seas Lagoon have been an icon of the park since day one, and riding it still feels special no matter how many times you've done it. The system connects the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, the TTC and its massive parking lot, and the deluxe MK resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian), so it's both incredibly convenient and scenic. There's something so relaxing about sitting by the window, hearing that familiar "Please stand clear of the doors" announcement, and watching the park slowly come into view. Riding through the Contemporary Resort (literally through the building) is still one of the coolest moments at Disney. I'll never tire of that as long as I live. That said, the monorail isn't perfect. It's showing its age a bit, with occasional breakdowns and crowded trains, especially around park opening and closing. If you're visiting during peak hours, you might find yourself packed in like a sardine with a stroller pressed against your leg. And in the rainy and humid summer months, the Florida "swamp stink" is real: that unmistakable smell of wet dog, body odor, and dirty sweat. When it's running smoothly, though, the Monorail is unbeatable. It's relatively fast, air-conditioned, and offers some of the best views of the parks and resorts you can get. I sometimes like riding the long loop from the TTC all the way to Epcot and back. It's not that the roadside and woodsy views are all that great, but it's just fun to glide through the park on your way to the station! I feel like the monorail is a must-do for regulars and a Disney rite of passage. It's retro to be sure, but it's so much more than a simple means of transportation.
