It certainly shows why these guys have such an ugly common low star rating on their reviews. First and foremost, the old man up front is a crabby old butt head. He is rude and sanctimonious. He lied about the time it would take to do a basic radiator flush and fill. They said one hour. We gave them 3 hours for good measure. We went back in, and the old crabby office manager, who should retire, was rude and acted pissed that we inquired about our car being finished. He then went into rudeness and several lies, and excuses for why they were not done yet. We were very nice to him, and he said they needed another 30 minutes. We gave them another hour for good measure. We returned, and they still hadn't finished the simple radiator flush and fill. He was rude again and said to come back in another 30 minutes. We spent a total of 4.5 hours of time we didn't really have, especially after the one-hour quote to get us in the door, and we were treated like sub humans. These guys suck. They don't deserve any stars. they deserve a SH%&# HEAD rating, but I couldn't find one. How can they stay in business? Close that store and get someone in there who is honest, polite, fair, and cares. read more

They couldn't figure out how to honor my fleet account without "paperwork" and wouldnt listen to me when i tried to explained all of the information they needed was on my app, which i could send. They didn't have an email address. Really terrible old cranky constipated service. The answer was "no." To every question I asked. I found a place a mile down the road that said "yes, absolutely. No problem". I didn't have to show them a thing- they just looked at my license plate. Too bad, I live down the street and need service on my family cars. Never again. They offer a coupon on Fred Meyer sales receipts for an oil change, tire rotation, and a 54 point safety inspection. A couple days after the "service" it looked like my tires were low. Checked pressure. Tires ranged from a low of 16-23 pounds of air. I was told that my brakes had 60% pad wear remaining. Less than 3 months and 3,000 miles later I began to hear a grating sound from the driver's side front wheel. Thought it must be a hub bearing since my brakes are fine. Grating became increasingly louder and was obviously brake related. Pulled the wheel and calipers myself and the pads were worn down to the metal backing. Rotor ruined. I imagine the passenger side will be equally worn. Upon entering the store for my prearranged oil change appointment the older "gent" behind the counter ignored me for about 5 minutes (I am not exaggerating) while it looked like he was doing his personal shopping. The screen on the computer was not auto parts related. No greeting. No, "I'll be with you in a minute." Completely ignored. I have used this shop for oil changes, air conditioner compressor and heater core replacement over the years, but will never set foot in this place again. read more

Do not get tires here. This is not a Goodyear service center. They will not honor the free flat repair offered by Goodyear even if you bought your tires here. Second, should be first, they will try and cheat anyone they think is dumb. Tried to cheat my daughter. Told her pressure sensor was broken inside the tire and they wanted 50$ to give her a new one. I called and informed them it worked just fine the last 3 days as we aired the tire up following the leak until we could get it in. Worked perfectly. Upon the phone call and pointing out their B.S. suddenly it's not broken and no explanation. They will cheat you. They will not honor Goodyears commitments. This is simply someone who sales Goodyear tires and is not a Goodyear tire service center. read more

I went to another tire shop, you know the one, and was quoted 50% more for tires with a 10,000 mile less warranty. After some discussion about tread pattern and usage, Johnson and Sons gave me the advantages and benefits of several different options. I selected the tread pattern that was more quiet yet still effective. They ordered the tires, dropped off the car a couple days later when they came in, and it was done right the first time. Also, I had taken a different vehicle back to the other guys weeks prior and they wouldn't rotate the tires I had purchased from them, per my request, claiming they don't do that with front wheel drive anymore. Maybe so, but it goes against the long time recommendation of rotation for decreased wear and increased longevity. A couple weeks after my first good experience here, I brought in my other vehicle. Again, ordered tires, couple days later brought back the vehicle to get them installed, and was done right the first time. Saved 30% over the other guys. read more

This place is a really honest and good place. They charge fair money for the work that they do and they always treat every customer like they are the only customer they have. Everyone that works here smiles, is very helpful and genuinely cares about the work being done to the vehicle. I have only gone to Goodyear Monroe for oil changes. The price for an oil change and tire rotation is around $23.00 w/o tax, which I think its a pretty good deal. The only downside is that it takes 1.5 hours for them to perform all of this because of the tire rotation. Of course they also try to upsell you on new tires, but that doesn't bother me. It's good to go before Winter so you know your tire is rotated before it snows. read more

THEY MOUNTED MY TIRES BACKWARDS!!! And refuse to make it right. They kept telling me they are off-road tires and that's what they are like until another store told me they were mounted backward! I called the Goodyear warranty department and they agreed that I should get new tires but that the store would have to call to start the process and they still refused to start the claim. Brought my car is 4 hours before close and was promised it would be done by 6 them when I showed up at 6 they told me they couldn't do it until I talked them into it then they broke 2 out of 4 valve stems and I didn't even know until I got home and cleaned my tires. Called and they were rude and very unwilling to fix there mistake so I had to go to gunner tire shop in lake stevens and took them 20 minutes. 100% don't go here read more

This is not a Goodyear Tire Store. As an affiliate they will not honor nationally published Goodyear pricing. Do your homework and seek an actual Goodyear Auto Service Center. If you must buy in the 98272 area, you will save money by buying online at Goodyear.com and then having Johnson's install the tires as an affiliate dealer. While Wes did his best to be competitive and work with me after the fact, the accounting people at Johnson's applied a credit to a closed account and then stated it was up to me to straighten out. Hours of my time involved, poor follow through by Johnson & Sons and I can honestly say, I will never buy Goodyear Tires in the future. Love this place! We showed up about 15 minutes before closing because of a flat tire. They were more than happy to help us, even though I knew they would be staying late. We purchased a used tire for a great price. While they were replacing it, they let us know that another tire was coming apart. Instead of trying to sell us on it, they put it on for FREE! Not even a mount and balance charge for the additional tire! Getting a flat on a very hot day, with a 2 year old, is not fun! Two women (my cousin and myself) showing up with car issues, usually turns into a large bill. It was a great feeling to know they didn't try to take advantage of the situation. Brought my car in for new tires, the spare was on in place of one tire. During the intital phone call they tried to upsell me with wrong information about traction tires in the mountains. After the tires were on I got the usual something's wrong with your car and it will cost $1000. Took it to my regular mechanic and found out the truth. This happens frequently with them. When the person in the front came to explain the supposed situation he demeaned me and treated me like a very dumb female. I am so glad I'm moving and don't need to go there anymore. I am sick and tired of arrogant old men (who don't wear masks) judging me on completely false pretenses. Other times they've had women working in front or other men who are much less judgmental. You know those horror stories you hear about auto shops trying to con you out of money? This is one of those places. I brought my car in for a problem in the drivetrain and received a list of $4,000 worth of work that "needed" to be done. Once I had them fix only one thing and received a bill for $2,100, they then told me my car wouldn't even start by itself and they needed to fix the starter. There was NOTHING wrong with the starter in my car before I brought it in. My husband and I will be contacting management to hold someone accountable for the obvious con they're running. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Update - After filing a complaint with the BBB, this business refused to acknowledge the complaint. I tried to contact the corporate office to find out that this is actually not even an official Goodyear. The business is allowed to assume the name because it sells Goodyear products. After paying the $2,100 and getting my car back, it began to do the exact same thing about 20 miles later. When I brought it back into the shop, demanding they fix it, he said it wasn't doing the same thing and would charge me more to fix it again. I was completely conned out of $2,100 and still have a broken car with no corportate office to hold them accountable. read more

I was in a bind having to have my '98 Civic towed into town on a Saturday after the radiator (original) cracked and wouldn't hold any fluid on my way from Seattle to Mt. Index trailhead. I tried to politely negotiate with the manager about the quote he gave me. I knew I was a captive audience and I tried my best to keep him fair and honest. Here's the final bill I was given: $44.50 diagnostic charge $149 new radiator $25 upper hose $25 lower hose $24 thermostat $70 drain and fill $239 labor (2.4hr) $7 shop supplies Total with tax = $634 Quite a bit of price gouging IMHO. I'm sure the work is good quality, but the manager was unpleasant when I questioned his need for 2.4hr of labor (from the time the work order was approved to the time I got the "ready" call, exactly 1.5hr had elapsed) for a job that is regularly quoted at 1-1.5hr. He said he put two guys on the job to speed up the work. I also find the $90 diagnostic fee (it took all of 15minutes for his crew to spot the hole in radiator and inspect the head gasket) and $90 drain and fill charge egregious. Again, I was met with discontent when I questioned these charges. After consulting my local mechanic - who who picked up the phone at his shop and gave me a phone consult on a day when he isn't open - I knew I was going to get hosed and tried my best to negotiate with little effect. One other anecdote that also caught my attention was when the tech was very quick to blame my local mechanic for not catching the crack in the radiator or replacing the hoses. That's pretty bold to criticize another shop's work without due diligence. In the end all I was able to negotiate was to split the diagnostic charge and knock off $20 for the drain and fill. I'm okay with a shop taking their 20-25% mark-up on parts and to set their labor rates commensurate with experience, but the add-ons for the diagnostic and the overcharge on the coolant fill and flush on top of the extra 1hr of labor is just plain unethical and unscrupulous. I certainly can't recommend this shop based on my experience. All I can recommend is that you find a good local mechanic to build a good relationship with; someone you can really trust to help you with your car troubles. Goodyear in Monroe is not that place. A few post-script notes: My local mechanic also urged me to ask if the thermostat needed to be replaced. The radiator and thermostat do not always fail together. Unfortunately the work order had already been completed and was a moot point. I learned a few things here: ask more questions about the necessity of each line item, and to always seek out alternate solutions. I learned later in the day that if I bought some liquid metal, I may have been able to get the radiator sealed up enough to circulate some water and get me back to my local mechanic, whom I trust. I wish had requested the old parts to bring to my local mech. Who knows if the hoses really had to be replaced at that moment. I'm not convinced that the hoses were glaringly hard or cracked. Nor was I convinced that the crack in the radiator was visible prior to today as was suggested by the shop mechanic. Again, in retrospect I wish I had asked the shop manager to show me the damage for my own peace of mind. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I was caught in a pickle today being in an unfamiliar town with limited options for getting home. read more

Pin were not greased, didn't bleed the brakes, didn't clean the mounting surface, and failed to torque the wheels. 3 lugs between both sides were only tighten down hand tight. Complained about a hanging brake, go figure. No warranty on work, parts, or time. No assistance from shop manager when persistent about issues that have risen. Told to go somewhere else. $167.00 DOLLARS to swap out a turn signal flasher in a 2000 civic??? These guys are scam artists!! for me personally, ive had decent service from them. because im a man I presume. but they still seem to think they can get away with their crap on men who actually know a little about auto's. claiming certain things are "wrong" with my truck each time I go in. they fix one thing, claim something else is "going bad" or "needs to be replaced". they performed a tranny service for me 4 months ago. while there they told me my rear differential and U-joints needed to be "dealt with" or "going bad". uh huh, sure... i went back a week later to have a new starter installed, a procedure that actually NEEDED to be done, and they informed me that all four of my shocks should be replaced. huh??? what happened to dealing with the rear differential and u-joints from just a week ago??? do they just make this shit up on the fly or what??? that said, heres what happened to my girl friend two days ago involving her 2000 civic: her turn signals were acting funny. not blinking properly and not coming on right away as she activated the signal arm... bla bla bla... ok, fine, now most people first off would immediately say, "oh, check the flasher", or, "oh, replace the flasher", or, "oh, sounds like a bad flasher", correct? i would also think this novel idea would pop into the heads of most professional auto mechanics too, correct? the good old turn signal flasher stand-by, correct? unplug the old one, plug in the new one, right? takes a mere 30 seconds. and if its not a flasher issue, then move on to something more involved, right? NOPE. NOT AT MONROE GOODYEAR!!! heres the breakdown: **$28 for the flasher itself. ok, fine. to be expected. **$75 in labor charges for a 45 min "diagnostics" procedure. diagnostic procedure on turn signals??? this is where I would think their expert knowledge and years of experience would kick in and they'd say, "probably just the flasher, better check that first..." WRONG!!! **$50 for 30 mins worth of labor to do the actual "installation" of the flasher. in other words, unplug the old one, plug in the new one- for 50 bucks. #1, im curious what the "diagnostic" procedure actually consisted of. #2, 30 mins to unplug the old flasher and "install" the new one??? now I wasn't there and im not a professional mechanic, but I do know how mechanics will take advantage of a woman who obviously knows nothing about cars. and in my opinion, that's exactly what happened here. LADIES, PLEASE, GET A SECOND OPNION FROM ANOTHER MECHANICE BEFORE COMMITING TO GOODYEAR IN MONROE!!!!!! OR AT LEAST TELL YOUR MAN HOW MUCH YOU'LL BE PAYING IF YOU DO DECIDE TO HAVE GOODYEAR IN MONROE DO WORK FOR YOU!!! I went in for the $29.95 oil change which included a "free inspection." I was told that I needed $700 of new struts, etc. The funny thing is that my husband had just had my vehicle thoroughly gone over by our mechanic in my home state, since I was about to drive it 2400 miles, and he found a few minor tuneups but nothing wrong with the struts. Called my brother, who is a mechanic in another state, who told me some things I could do to check struts, and there were no red flags (I also drive over train tracks twice a day and had noticed no problems). He also told me that the price quoted was way more than it should cost if they were bad. Took it to an independent mechanic here in town, who told me that not only did I not need any work (and didn't charge anything! Yea, Courtesy!!) but told me that it looked as if I had my struts replaced already, within recent history. Worst case, this was the problem, that my husband usually takes care of all car maintenance things; I went in without my wedding ring and didn't know the exact age of the vehicle, so I may have looked like an easy pigeon. Best case, maybe someone just assumed from the age of the vehicle that I needed the work done. Good things: the gentleman at the desk was very nice and the waiting room was comfortable. The oil change was done promptly. Nonetheless, it was disconcerting to have this happen (and the independent mechanic could have easily gouged me for it but was honest) and so I won't be back. The independent shop will have my family's business from here on (7 vehicles). I've never done a negative Yelp review but the purpose of Yelp is to help others, so here it is. Had I looked at Yelp first, I never would have gone in the first place, because of all the bad reviews. read more

Avoid this place at any cost. First they told me a RV tire and installation would be ~1,200; the day of the install, they changed it to ~1,800 but told me I could bring my own tires and they would install it. When I got the tires somewhere else with a discount, they told me they would not install them. On top, initially the guy wanted to use my RV jacks to install them which is completely UNSAFE. I don't think these people have a clue of what they are doing. Trust me when I tell you this place has no word, no accountability for what they tell you and probably no clue of what they are doing. A week ago my maintenance required light came on away from the town I now live in. I asked this business if they could see a reason for it. I had just had my car serviced and new water pump put on. They told me that three of the four struts were leaking, it would cost $150.00/strut and $98.00/labor each, approx. $1000.00. They then charged me $107.00 for the 15 minute "look". I paid, but I have NEVER EVER been charged by anyone for a quick look like this. Ever. I have a 2007 Toyota Camry, with only 49,000 miles on it. I am an older woman, the original owner of the car and do not lend my car out to anyone. My mechanic where I live now looked at the car Friday. He said they were fine. I emailed Goodyear about what I discovered and ask for my money back since they tried to cheat me. "Wade" phoned back all hot and angry that I dare question them. Demanded who told me that, and then said they were wrong. I told him I would be another opinion them. I did. From the mechanic I had for 10 years before I moved. NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STRUTS ! Two certified, highly rated businesses BOTH told me my struts are NOT leaking. BEWARE of what this business tells you. GET A SECOND OPINION ELSEWHERE. read more

HATE THIS PLACE. DONT LISTEN TO WADE!! READ ALL AND DONT BE FOOLED BY THEM. They say you need to spend way more when you don't!! Went in for an oil change and knew my brakes were a little squeaky, however I saw the pads and knew they had about a 4 month life left. The oil change comes with a 54-point inspection in the price (it's not just free). They told me 2 hours later that I needed new tires, new brakes and new rotors. Anyways, I told them what I knew about the brakes and they tried to talk down to me. At one point I heard someone behind the counter say "it's hard to explain to women" EXCUSE ME?!? They tried to up sell me $800 for tires, $400 brakes and $200 for new rotors. I told them I simply couldn't afford it at the moment as I'm a college student. They ignored me and walked away for another 20 minutes and then as soon as I got home there was a mildew smell and I lifted up the rug in the back and there was a huge water spill soaking my carpet. I took my car to 4 other places and they said the diagnosis they gave me was incorrect!! I filed a complaint on Goodyears website that I paid for a service and all I got was up sold and Wade left me a message. I just got off the phone with him and he was yelling at me. Went in for a tmps sensor relearn, they told me it could take from 30 to an hour and their rate was 99/hour. 20 min later the truck was done but they charged me an hour of labor a FREAKING HOUR 99 DOLLARS for 20 min of work. Ok. I can deal with what, what I can't deal with is talking to a RUDE none caring person on the front desk (some old cranky guy most likely the owner or manager) talking to me like I'm some kind of idiot, if you don't like people, don't work on the customer service area, or at least learn about customer service. I feel bad for all of his employees. having to deal with him all the time, I could tell nobody liked him. But anyways, I'm never going back to that place. I called ahead and made an appointment. The guy said it would take an hour for a oil change, I've done it myself it takes 15 minutes. Anyway I leave my car with them and come back a hour and 10 minutes later and the car is up on a lift with all 4 tires off, the front office guy is no where to be found and there are a bunch of teenagers acting stupid in the lobby. So I go outside and over to my car and ask the mechanic why all 4 tires are off? He says tire inspection is part of the oil change. Then says have you talked to mike(?) inside. I said no. why?, he says there were issues, can you go talk with Mike, I said theres nobody inside I just came from there. He says well ok. I'll put the tires back on and get it ready for you. this takes an additional 15 minutes after that I walk inside and the mechanic is the one that I deal with, Mike finally shows up. So after an hour and 45 minutes I get my car back and they want to charge me another 800.00 for a new timing belt. i will never go back there again. read more

I'll start with the front desk. They are great people to work with. The part of my experience with this store that was unpleasant was the techs. I brought a new set of wheels to be swapped out on my car and when they were put on, 7 of my lug nuts and studs were cross threaded and stripped. On top of that, a valve stem was broken so I was refilling my tire all weekend until I could go to their store when they had time for me. I brought it in, they took care of everything but when they were done fixing the lug nuts on the rear, the tech was told he needed to check the front wheels as well and he then started complaining about having to do HIS job. This kind of service provided by the technicians who worked on my car is completely unacceptable and could've been resolved in a much cleaner way than it was.
