If I could give them six stars I would. My son was traveling out of town with our old truck (his in the shop) not really meant for cross-state travel and it began to make a noise. It was Saturday of a three-day weekend and he called pretty sure that his weekend was ruined. Candidos was recommended by a friend and they had him drive the truck right in to check it out! The main guy that runs the office ends up fake answering his phone and telling me to leave when i was complaining. Do not bring your car here. DONT GO HERE!!! I initially had to take my car to get it diagnosed as they were not able to use their computer to diagnose in their shop. So after paying another shop to diagnose it I brought it in to have the timing belt, water pump and valve cover gasket replaced. I brought my car in on Monday but they said they couldn't get to it until Wednesday. By Wednesday morning they still haven't gotten to my car but said it will be done in the next few days. Five hours later they call me and told me my car is all done which left me a little skeptical. I was grateful because they were able to quote me $1000 less than another shop for the same work. here's where things get interesting. When I went to pick up my car the owner kept rushing me to pay even though I had 20 minutes until they closed. I then proceeded to ask if I could take a look at the work they did before paying him the money. The owner then began to yell and argue with me telling me he didn't trust the work he did. I told him as a first time customer I feel like I deserve to look at what the work was done prior to paying the money. He then showed me that the car started and ran and then told me to never bring it back here again . I was outraged at this point and told him that I feel I am in the right to make sure the work was done properly. He continued to tell me that I insulted him and that I didn't trust his work and that I should take my car somewhere else . After this experience I don't think I'll ever be taking my car back to Candido's's in Monroe ever again!!!! read more

I self diagnosed my alternator going out. So, I planned to take on the adventure of driving it to the dealership to get it replaced. Got to Monroe and it died completely. I called Candido's because it was nearby. They were very helpful on the phone and quoted the job at half the price of the dealership, so I crippled it there. They got me in same day and completed the job. They used a good quality replacement part. No problems since. read more

I took my car there and when I got it back I found a wrench tightened onto one of my sway bars. I took it back to them and instead of getting an apology, all the guy did was laugh. That could have been very bad, what if it would have fallen off while I was driving on the freeway and it hit someone else's car?! I talked to some friend's about this shop and they said that they had bad experiences also. read more

This shop is amazing! Expedient and doesn't over charge you. My vehicular emergency yesterday (7/3) was fixed in 2 hours. He even stayed open an extra couple minutes because we got stuck at a train crossing on our way to pick up the car. I've taken my car here before for timing belt maintenance and replacement, and it was done in less than a day. The pricing for the work was extremely fair, maybe leaning a little towards my favour. I will continue to take my car here for maintenance and repairs, and tell my friends and family to do the same. read more

I left my jeep with Candido to locate and fix an intermittent knocking sound occurring upon braking and backing up. Also mentioned recent suspension damage repair on driver side. Came later and picked up car he said he tightened up the suspension he said that things were really bad but he fixed it. Cool!. I paid the 400 went on my way, and for several drives, It seemed to be fine. I had to drive drive my truck for hauling for a couple weeks, so a month had gone by. I starting drove the jeep again, I heard the knocking was coming back, intermittently. After 4 weeks it was in full swing. I brought it back to Candido, I told him that noise was back and I thought he missed it. Instead of being helpful, and before I could finish my sentences he interrupted me with, "why didn't you bring it in the next day? "how do I know it's not another problem after all of this time" he not only decided not to have another look he blew me off as a liar. I took it down the street to COURTESY AUTOMOTIVE AND TIRE. They took 10-15 min and found the problem The problem was a loose spacer that was trapped in a bracket pocket by the control arm. A 20 minute fix. I get the impression that Mr Candido rushed through did as little as possible $$. I question his honesty. read more

This place is the best automotive repair place I have ever used. I've been going there for years with different trucks and cars. They do great work and their prices are so reasonable. They get you in, they get you out. I'd give them six stars if I could. I even had my grandson's car towed in there, as he had tried to rebuild the engine himself. He had boxes of parts and nuts and bolts everywhere. They had it done within a week and I can't remember the price but it was dirt cheap. Great service!! If you are smart about auto repair you will stay away from this place! Candido may seem gracious and polite, and his prices may seem low and a "good deal", but you get what you pay for! At this place it is un-educated backyard mechanics and a shady business that will do a cash deal for you, "off the books". They worked on the steering column of our Chevy S-10 and it was still not working right when we picked it up. They didn't seem to understand the workings of a steering column, insisted they had "fixed" it, and kept repeating they gave us a good deal. Whatever! I DO NOT recommend this shop. read more

My cousin took his car there to get it fixed for $2500 and they did a crappy job. After driving it at a far distance the car started shaking after he hit the brakes. My cousin took the car back and the owner said it's not his fault and he won't fix it. My cousin had to threaten him with calling the cops before he would take it back and fix it properly. After he took the car back and, maybe, fixed it he said take your car and I don't ever want to see your face back here again! This shop does horrible work and has bad customer service. WARnING, don't go to Candidos if you want quality service and repair. read more

Did a brake job on my vehicle when i called i asked how much to do a complete brake job on the rear end. He gave me the price and did the job. a week later and my rear brakes are smoking he claims its the calipers and wants another big chunk of money. Change of plans this Labor Day weekend. Ended up stranded in Monroe. Our trip over the mountains to a friend's cabin cut short by an all day car repair. Made the most of it with some nice exploring, eating good food and family time. Life's not about the destination. It is about enjoying the journey! But the best part of the journey was how the folks at Candidos made what was a frustrating, expensive and lengthy detour about as good as it could get. They stuck to their word around the time it would take and ended up charging us a lot less than the other quotes we looked into. I highly recommend this place. Also helps that the mechanic (owner?) was a super professional guy who also is learning to fly helicopters! My 13 year old son commented on how he obviously loves what he does and is good at it. I have a 2003 Acura MDX, and Candido has replaced my Power Steering pump, serpentine belt, timing belt and a couple sensors, as well as my front brakes. All this cost $800. I have also had my oil changed at the shop. I have always been very pleased with the service, he gets your repairs done quickly. I have been told the best place to get repairs is at a certified Acura shop, I was quoted a price well above what I was charged for all these repairs at Candido's, and considering the age of my car I opted to not pay the price for the higher quote. These repairs were done early January and a month later I started hearing grinding in my front brakes, I called Candido and he told me to bring it in so he can find out the problem. I am taking my car to him Saturday. Other than this I can say my car runs very good since the repairs and I am very pleased and happy with the service an quality of work I get at the shop, and I will continue to go to Candido's because I believe he does stand behind his work, and will always give you a fair price. read more

I brought my truck in to get a new fuel pump. The markup on the part was $200 compared to online and $100 compared to the local stores. However, it was Saturday afternoon and the local stores were out of stock so I needed to pay the markup in order to have my truck ready for work on Monday. I picked it up just before they closed that same day and drove straight home to pick up the family. After getting the kids ready we came out and saw one of the tires was completely deflated. They were closed for the rest of the weekend so I hooked up the spare, and left work early later the same week to get them to fix it. They tore the sidewall of the tire, I just wanted them to repair the damage they clearly caused, which in this case meant a new tire. They refused and acted like I was trying to hustle them or something. The markup on the part was over the top, but if I had time I could have got the part elsewhere. However, I would NEVER EVER recommend a shop who refuses to repair damage they clearly caused. For all I know, they might have done the damage on purpose trying to get more money out of me. I will never be back and I recommend everyone else avoid them as well. read more
