service was paid for in full for 2 treatments. we had to reschedule 2x beings the temps weren`t high enough for our reptiles to move out and then when we call to find out when there coming to get this done we get told they been here twice which is a lie my dogs never barked and my very loud door bell never rang so they lied and kept the money not a very good first experience with any pest control. read more

I have used Monroe for many years for exterior and interior pest control. Two weeks ago I disturbed a yellow jacket nest in the ground. I was stung 16 times. I called Monroe the next day and Bill was sent the following day. Bill was so personable and concerned for my wellbeing. I walk with a walker and he helped me go outside to show him the location of the nest and then helped me go back in the house. He also sprayed for our regular fall exterior treatment while he was here. I will definitely request Bill for future treatments. read more

I'm very disappointed in Monroe in Hobart. They do NOT stand up to their warranty. We signed up for Spring/Fall Pest Control and paid $350 in August for the Fall Treatment. By signing up for the twice yearly treatment, you are covered the entire year regardless of how many times they need to come out. When I first called them we had wasps swarming the top of our chimney and often one would find its way into the house. I specifically asked if their treatments would take care of them since the nest was obviously somewhere in the chimney. They explained that they had very high powered sprayers that would get into the cracks and crevices and take care of the nests. They also explained they would come out as many times as needed. I am high allergic to stings, but I'm also allergic to epi. So this is a VERY serious matter! They have sprayed three times and we still have wasps. We are replacing the siding on the chimney and have discovered several huge active nests. I called and scheduled another spray for today so we can finish siding the chimney. The owner Dave called this morning and was angry about having to come out again. He wanted to charge another $125. since we now have the chimney open. I explained that when I originally hired them it was mainly for the chimney and I specifically asked if they could take care of them and they assured me they could. Dave refuses to come spray the active nests unless we pay again. So, now we have to find someone else. read more

D and I had the unfortunate pleasure of finding a hornets nest underneath our garage gutters. Actually our neighbors made the discovery as it was located in an area away from the back door. D has an allergy to stings and as fast as those suckers guarding the nest were moving, I didn't feel inclined to spray it myself. I searched on Yelp and found Monroe Pest Control. I wasn't keen on paying anywhere from $150 - $195 (who needs another bill, right?) but when you think of the potential risk of being stung doing a DIY treatment on hornets , the cost as long as it's not overly outrageous becomes secondary. The rep I spoke to on the phone was friendly and gave me an afternoon time for the exterminator arrival. Ten minutes later I got a call from Rob saying he could come earlier in the day. Cool. Rob was friendly and professional. I was surprised he wasn't covered up in a bee suit but he knows what he's doing so whatever. As it turned out he said our infestation wasn't as bad. He said in another couple weeks it could've been much worse. He went to town spraying the nest and the surrounding gutters. They don't do nest removal but thankfully the force of the chemical spray pretty much destroyed the nest. Since the nest wasn't massive I was charged the minimum $150. It's one of those calls you hate to make but I appreciate the service they provide. read more

We get yellow jackets trying to build a nest in our siding every so often and although one comment I have read on this site said that they were disappointed because Monroe was only there for 10 minutes and cost them $180.00, what does the time matter if the job was done and they rid the home of the pests? They guarantee the job they do and it is a local small business which I always try to support if I can. This is my go to company and I honestly don't have any complaints.
