The lane i was placed at was broken I had to keep resetting after every bowl. The server was rude. The shoes didn't fit and were worn out. The floor was slippery. The balls didn't have any number indicators to know the weight of the ball. I don't recommend this place. read more

I give 0 stars. The 12 year olds that run the place on a weekend have no idea what they are doing. Making people wait 2 hours for open bowling when there are open lanes in the open bowling area. Once you get to the lanes, they constantly shut off and have pin jams. Do not recommend. Do not go. read more

At one time the Monroe area had several bowling centers. Back then you could drive anywhere within 10 minutes and enjoy league action after work on the weekday, or take the whole family for a fun-time on the weekend. The sports shops back then did a brisk business selling bowling balls, as everyone enjoyed heading to the lanes for some great recreation, especially when the thermometer dipped well below freezing in the wintertime. The Monroe Sports Center was built in 1954, during the Post War bowling boom that swept the nation back then. Owner Ernie Held signed a contract with Brunswick Bowling, and a 12 lane house was built that featured a bar and restaurant. Back then, "pinboys" were used to reset the pins, and send the balls back to the owners. However, in 1961 new Brunswick automatic pinsetters were installed, and the building was expanded to 24 lanes. Ironically, when I stopped into the Monroe Sports Center to enjoy some open bowling with my cousins, there was a tournament going on and they had no lanes available, and it would be about a two hour wait. So we decided to walk over to Mugsy's Grille, but the place was packed. Had we of gone there a day earlier, they have a fish fry on Friday nights, which is very good from what I have heard. I strongly recommend that if you have a desire to go bowling, then you should call the Monroe Sports Center in advance to check on the availability of lanes. With that said, this has to be one of the cleanest bowling centers I have been into. They now have 48 fully modern synthetic lanes, and offer a non-smoking environment. Likewise, they are geared towards fun for the whole family, and offer various group packages that are unbeatable. read more

Great bowling alley with good food and service. Entire building is clean and well taken care of. Family friendly and has many league options too. One of my favorite bowling alleys in the state. read more

Facilities are well maintained but I have had very bad experiences with the people who work there. They were not at all help ful and not very organized. They double book the tennis courts often and when we drive there, we end up having no courts which is very disappointing. read more

I see no one has posted here for a good while...Jerry, Shane, Sherry and Tim will bend over backwards to help and make your experience here enjoyable. While the burning of Nortel Lanes actually put a heavy burden on this establishment...they handled it better than most...and now with this virus crap going on....they still do the best they can which is a good thing. If you enjoy bowling...this is the place to be. All workers are also nice. Also...if you are thirsty or hungry or both...walk up front to Mugsy's...cold beer and good food. read more

By far, the best bowling alley I've ever been too (although Nortel a few miles away is a close second). Sport Center has the best lanes, cleanest environment, always functioning equipment, decent bar prices and food, and good customer service (unless you're being a jackass). They have plenty of parking too. I bowled here for years when I lived nearby and never had an issue that wasn't quickly resolved. If you need to borrow supplies, their selection of house balls is weak, and their shoes are usually old and uncomfortable. There are times when my friends and I would go there on a Saturday night, and the place would be packed. We used to have to make reservations for a lane several hours in advance. Other times, it would be dead. They have pretty good specials on bowling too--usually "all you can bowl" for three hours at less than $10 per person and a little higher on the weekends when they have cosmic bowling. We used to see how many games we could bowl "to get our money's worth," and the number of games would be pretty high--a record 27 games in 3 hours between two of us. That sounds like a good deal to me! You can get a pitcher of beer for $8 and a pizza or other food at their kitchen for reasonable prices. They are also connected to Mugsy's. read more

Very rude to children with disabilities. Especially one employee in particular who refused to put up bumpers for my autistic son. The employee cared more about how much the bumpers cost rather than my son having a fun time. Pin setters keep breaking took over an hour to fix. Not a very good place to go especially if you have children with disabilities. read more
