They have food , a bar, and small arcade but a nice amount of bowling lanes is exactly what we come for. Right by a variety of restaurants in the heart of ferndale. Fantastic experience!!! Amazing and friendly customer service. This was a happening place on a Sunday afternoon! It got full as soon as it opened and I can see why it's so popular. It's very clean and kept up in top condition. The balls and lanes are really nice, and the seating areas for each lane are separate, modern, and comfortable. Bright colors and fun decor and vibe. Everything looks and feels new. They offer bumpers for kids and other fun things too. They offer games where you try to grab prizes with a giant claw. Snacks are available and the pretzel was yummy. Attended a Fund raising and the venue was held at Luxury Lanes. It's quarter to seven in the evening and a Thursday night, I was worried that we won't be able to find a parking spot. I'm pleased to find out that they have free parking, with streets lights on for safety. We feel safe because every now and then, we saw police cars drive around and patrolling the area. As we went in, you could see groups of people bowling and having fun as they strike the pins down. No worries about points because the flat screen monitors will count the scores, and highlight the name of the next player. When you earn a strike or spare, graphic characters pop up and are vivid in color. If you're a beginner, investing on bowling shoes can be put aside. Instead, you may rent bowling shoes of your preferred size at the front desk. For the event, I had the shoes for free. But normally, they charge $2.50 a pair. Before I put on the shoes, I sprayed a little bit of the complimentary sanitizer spray. The upper floor is carpeted. Each of the bowling lane are wide enough for movement. The lower floor tends to be slippery when walking with their bowling shoes. Be careful especially when you're stepping down from your seat to the lanes. From time to time, the pins might get stuck, but doesn't take long for the machine bring down another set of pins. For me, their pizza is comparable to Benito's or Papa John's. My husband says maybe a few notches down ;-). Thirsty for soda, water or beer? They have a small bar that serves the drinks. If I'm not mistaken, sodas are refillable. They also serve food other that pizza. For the not so fond of bowling, they also have video games for you to enjoy. Lost big time from a bet, you can withdraw cash in the ATM Machine, just before the restrooms that are decent in size and clean. Don't come here. It's a really small dinky bowling alley that's overpriced and is overpriced. They charged $6 for shoe rentals and the shoes and floor sucked! It was so slippery it was borderline dangerous, I had to change into the shoes I came in... which is something I've never had to do before. I asked for a refund on the shoes and he smartass at the desk said he couldn't refund me. Terrible service and lanes, go to the next closest alley. read more

Great find! Ferndale is already a gem within its self but this pleasant diamond here simply amazing. Good food! They have a bar and if you go back further enough they have an arcade and more in the back. The staff seems super nice and friendly as well as helpful! The front desk "GUY" is as follows: kind, lovely, genuine, considerate, as well as hot"! He told me to give him another description but I like this one better! Lol! Like I have been to some bowling alleys in my day! This one is different like the environment is just an awesome vibe everyone cheers for you (you don't know these people, but you don't have to know people to get a cheer or have a good time Right). A great place to take kids. They are really reasonable prices for bowling. And you can always find a coupon on their website. The staff is amazing!!! They are so friendly and it is a joy to go there. They offer kid birthday parties and cool DVD's for each kid. They are remodeling the place right now and I can see the difference. The owner wanted to change it up and they are now non-smoking so it well be a fresh start for them. I drive past 4 different bowling alley just to come to Luxury Lanes. I have not been bowling in the evening, but they have a variety of leagues and promos. I would put this on the to-do list if you are near Ferndale. Note: They have a full bar and pretty good food. My family had searched high and low for a place for the wedding rehearsal dinner to go. We wanted fun and low-key and food a-plenty; Luxury Lanes really put on a show! The owner, Paul, is a winner. I haven't bowled in over 20 years. Seems like a reasonable day date, so I called around and Luxury, as well as most, have plenty of open bowling during the summery. We stopped in and I immediately ported back to the 1980's. The colors and smell were everything I remember about bowling as a kid. We paid 2.75 a game and 2.50 for shoes. I'm not sure if this is the going rate but it does't seem too bad. The place has standard smaller bar with cheap and expensive beers and snack bar with unhealthy snacks like fries and pizza. My only complaint is that it is very hot inside. I guess if you aren't busy, turning the air conditioning on is probably costly. Overall, we had a good time and would consider going back. read more

Very clean and inviting establishment. A true hidden gem of the community. I stumbled across this bowling alley and I was pleasantly surprised. By no means is it a large alley at all, it only has 16 lanes. It was perfect for a small family outing. My daughter enjoyed it so it was worth every penny. I was looking for something fun to do with my 4 year old daughter over the weekend. My requirements was that it was 1. close to home. 2. Air conditioned. 3. inexpensive. Luxury Lanes fit the bill. The owner was friendly and helpful. The parking was free. It wasn't crowded (we practically had the place to ourselves). 2 games of bowling each, for $12. Can't beat that. I've lived in Ferndale for 5(?) years now and had only been to Luxury Lanes once years ago. It's pretty small- so pre-smoking ban it was stinktastic. The other evening, me and my fella decided to have a night to ourselves that didn't center around sitting at a bar drinking. Solution? Bowl and drink, play pool and drink, watch a movie and drink, have dinner and drink- You get the idea! We decided to check out Luxury Lanes after hearing it had been remodeled post-smoking ban. Not too shabby Luxury Lanes! We had a splendid time bowling (and some fantastic beverages from the bar as well). Dare I say, it almost smelled good in the bowling alley! I also bowled one of my best games ever. (It was like a 98... I'm sure you are laughing at me now, but I don't care) We'll be back Luxury Lanes - and I can't wait to come back once my little guy is old enough to carry a bowling ball for some sweet bumper bowling. (I could use those bumpers myself!) Just a note - every few frames a green pin will pop up - Get a strike with the green pin, and get 1 free game. We had a party of 15 in for bowling. They wouldn't give a person a free pop refill when their child spilled the pop. They insisted on another $2.50! Great customer service!?! NOT! Then they practically forced us to leave and refund a game because they were closing in a 1/2 hour. Since when??? Meanwhile we had noticed the people next to us were just starting their game. Same clerk who wouldn't replace the cola basically forced a refund on us. Too bad we spent money there.*** Besides the games, we all had food & beer...*** It's NOT ABOUT A FREE REFILL. It's about doing the right thing AND it's about great customer service which this place has none!!! Oh yeah, when I asked to see the manager or owner they claimed that they "weren't there." We just had our 5 year olds birthday party here today and everything was fantastic! The staff was accommodating in every way possible. The younger gentleman working the kitchen who seemed to be doing everything was especially patient with our chaotic bunch and was just an all around help! We intended to have more kids but due to the time of year and many illnesses, we fell short but they didn't bat an eye and made our day great (entire staff). Thank you so much! The only reason for 4 stars is the actual bowling lanes. They weren't the best but that's not really why we were there. We were there to have fun but if we wanted to bowl seriously, probably wouldn't be number one pick. Again, thank you for the wonderful service and fantastic food (seriously yummy), we had a blast. luxury lanes is a classy bowling alley. if that statement is even allowed. its everything i believe a bowling alley should be. it has the kitchy feel to it that you're being transported back to the heyday of bowling. real wood lanes. brightly colored inside with a nice sized bar. its small so you don't feel like you're bowling in space. the bartender is seriously awesome. she's this grizzled old ex-smoker that loves a good cocktail and some gossip. they have pretty cheap prices for lane usage. love, juston read more

This place was fun but just ok. They have coupons on their website and we took the time to print them off and bring them (for one free game) but they actually have a stack at the front desk so save your ink! Otherwise games were $3.50 with shoes at $2.50 if memory serves me right. We had some drinks from the bar, which were reasonably priced, $4 for mixed drinks and $3 for beer. Beer selection was awful, but that's fairly par for the course at bowling alleys. Both of the taps were out, too (not that we would have wanted what was in them). The bartender was very nice though. We went on a Saturday for cosmic bowling. They don't have a juke box like I've seen at other bowling alleys but the music playing was a good selection of hits/favorites and had us dancing between turns. One thing that really bothered me was the arrangement of seating. They have the tables/chairs really far away from the lanes, so to take your turn you have to walk over, down some stairs, and then get your ball. Every time. And the chairs are attached to the tables so you can't move them closer. This means you can't really converse or cheer on your bowling partner(s) since you're so far away when they're taking their turn, which isn't very fun. There also weren't seats at the score terminal (where you enter the players names, etc.) Kind of awkward. We ended up sitting on the floor on the steps so we could actually hear each other while we bowled, which was not too comfy. Lastly, I thought the shoes weren't very comfortable, they were pretty stiff which I suppose might mean they're new...which isn't so bad. I'd come back just because they're conveniently located but there's nothing that really stands out about this place. read more

This was my first time at a bowling alley in 10 years and I had the best time today. I can't wait to go back again. It turns out the owner shares the same birthday as I do and he gave me my beer on the house. He's a down-to-Earth really nice guy. I told him this was my first time here and that I'd checked it out on the internet beforehand. There are before and after pictures and the photos don't do it justice. It's really nice, fresh and new. As far as relaxed family owned type businesses go, this is a great bowling alley. None of the lame emagine crowd (Royal Oak), friendly and accommodating service, and a generally relaxed atmosphere. Friendly place with a great bar. I played in a league here for about a year, it was fun and affordable. Lanes are in great shape and well oiled compared to other places in the area. Only problems I had with the place were the lack of air conditioning on hot days and a few grouchy old ladies in other leagues (they hate loud music and fun). read more
