The Vault is a great place--it was my Pink Pony Club, though I am from LA originally. I've lived in NorCal for 16 years, and when my marriage fell apart, the Vault was there to give me hope of a new start. I worked at a bar in Chico as a cook, and have gone to bars in that town and Redding, and by far, The Vault is most like a home. Everyone there, maybe like in all bars, are either young and full of wonder, or refuges from the wreckage of matrimony. I found love there. I found a place to shed my tears and dance my troubles away. I found people of all genders to be compassionate, welcoming, fun, and that type of people can only flourish and congregate in a place they feel safe. I am lucky enough that I always feels safe, but I can see that less generally foolhardy people will find this place especially safe and welcoming. It is cozy, it is the perfect size, it has denizens, it has people you will see over and over. When you keep coming back it becomes like Cheers, or the Central Perk, or whatever bar those white people from How I Met Your Mother hung out, except with more drama and sex. Like the best places, there is a blur between owner, bartender, client, stranger, friend. We are all one there, we are all welcome. read more

Fun little bar. Friendly staff and customers. Had a very large trans presence which I felt was odd. I live in a major Metropolitan area that has many gay bars and we don't see that percentage of trans people in them as what I saw up here. Not being negative, just pointing that out.. read more

Such a great vibe!! We went on a Monday and the energy was great! Our bartender was on point. He was friendly and our drinks were delicious! We enjoyed the back room area with some comfy seating. We could still hear the music and talk. Just visiting from out of town but will definitely be back! read more

I think you guys need a jukebox as the old owners had, not that video player machine. I went on Saturday Night prior to Mother's Day and it was kind of dead. Had a couple of Dj's but they don't play the latest dance tunes. Anyone out there heard of Gaydio (gay dance channel out of the UK on the internet-HOT!) If you don't get a jukebox, hook up to the net and play Gaydio, you don't know what you're missing people. Nice to see the joint back up and running, though where's the vibe it once had as Club 5. My home away from home, amazing people come here and it was so welcoming to me, an out-of-towner! Immediately became my go to spot! I love the DJ talent that comes through (all insanely talented, and the variety) they often had well thought out events specially curated every week! If you're looking good to be discriminated upon for no reason come here. Bradley Thompson is not one to trust to protect the customer. He provacates violence and allows other patrions to physically attack customers. Worst experience I've had after moving to Redding. There are better bars in Redding that do not tolerate harassment, violence, or patrions who insight discrimination and judgement for not bowing down to their ways of life. I wonder what else they hide behind closed doors? Visitors beware who are not part of the LIBERAL agenda. They will turn on you. read more
