Really unique concept, efficient layout && great service! My boyfriend and I walked in here at around 5pm on a Saturday to find it pretty busy with kids' birthday parties. But we were tended to right away by friendly staff behind the counter who patiently explained everything to us. Though everything is dark, the staff are easy to find as they all wear long white lab coats and shirts that glow in the dark. And though you may find yourself trailing behind a group, know you can always skip ahead and return later (as we ended up doing). Also, clean bathrooms and pretty good music! I started off very excited and happy to start my daughters 7th birthday. We did golf and games and the kids cheered in joy!! Then we went to get the prices and recycled the cards to save the polar bears. Which then left us with cards for bowling (I was not aware of needing the cards for bowling) To which one of us remembered the cards and were able to start a game. Which then the pins got TANGLED!!! Just went here today! Probably the most epic indoor mini golf place I have ever been to! I love the glow in the dark room, monsters, and art on the walls! Very humorous how it all ties in with a few known celebrities! The scenery is fantastic! There were a lot of unique parts of the course. One hole had a spinning wheel with obstacles that you had to overcome and also a fake hole! Awesome! Also, it was kind of confusing starting in the middle of the course, but it is a good idea since there are so many people golfing at the same time, but I like starting at the first hole and moving onto the end. Had to go get another ball, which isn't a big deal. Just preference. I gave it a 4 because the mini golf has no strategy to it really. A lot of the holes were par 4 and I prefer mini golf courses that have holes that are par 1. But overall a good experience! :) read more

I highly recommend hosting your children's birthday party here. We have had birthday parties all over town and monster mini golf was by far the easiest to work with and the most positive experience. They were so accommodating allowing us to bring in kosher food and even let us play our own birthday play list on the sound system. All the staff was so engaged with the party and kept the kids occupied with games for two hours. I booked a birthday party for my 9 year old son here. Patti was responsive and helpful in booking a date and time as well as reviewed all the details on food and the plan for the day. When we got there, the staff was so helpful and organized! The room was decorated fantastically and the staff did a wonderful job keeping the 17 kids engaged, coordinated and safe. We did pizza for the kids and BBQ for the adults. The BBQ was a hit with the adults and there wasn't any pizza complaints. There's a fridge/freezer in the room, so perfect for an ice cream cake! This is such a cool spot to take the kids and fun for adults too. If you are looking to celebrate a birthday party or searching for a perfect spot on a raining day, Monster Mini Golf is the place to go! It is full of games for all ages! You may have to wait a bit to play golf, but the wait is worth it. The props are amazing and esoecially the moving and talking ogre. The gulf course is fairly easy except for the weird holes that are on some elevated area. These holes are too shallow to make. They should replace them. My only other complaint is that the games add tickets to your card. The big spinning wheel never counted any of our points. Plenty of parking but could use some street lights at night so the place can stand out a bit. MMG meets a demand for family entertainment in the area, suitable for kids and adults 6-50. Live DJ and friendly employees...Noticed two party rooms and simple games (like D&B). The neon/black light accentuates a Halloween theme eighteen-hole course. ~$35 for a family of 4, which costs about the same as watching a movie. Cute little spot, fun for couples, groups, and families. Not only does it offer mini golf but there is also an arcade as well with plenty of games and prizes. Came here on a Friday night around 730 and the crowds had not yet picked up. Staff there were very nice and helpful since it was our first time there. Each hole was obviously unique and similar to other mini golf places the difficulty increased with each hole. It was nicely decorated to fit the monster theme, black lighting of course was used throughout. There were animatronics and sounds all around. They also has a dj in a booth playing music, every once in a while he would ask a trivia question for prizes so that was fun. It was a fun experience to try out once, I was hoping for a little more excitement and more aesthetics but it still an overall fun experience. With the animated monsters, the great music, and the dark spaces with flashing lights, this mini golf was so much fun. The holes are well constructed and challenging but not too hard for the kids. This place is relatively fun. It is better to go when it's not peak hour though because when the place is packed it can become a little chaotic. I did like how everything glowed in the dark, that was fun. Fantastic concept. I've been to 5-10 different mini-golf places, and this one takes the cake. Friday night, we walked in and it was quite busy. There's an arcade that's pretty packed families, kids, and teenagers. A "mad scientist" staffer greeted and directed us to the check-in area, where another "mad scientist" politely let us know there was an approximate 30 minute wait since a large birthday party was wrapping up. We got our waiting number and spent the next half-hour admiring all the awesome decorations and wall art. Couldn't figure out if they're hand-painted or pressed/printed in some mechanical way; but either way, they make for an awesome ambiance. And the whole indoors, glow-in-the-dark angle is really novel and neat. When it was our time, we grabbed our clubs and entered the course. It seems small, but it's very efficiently designed to optimize (not just maximize) space. In addition to even more incredible wall art, there are some AWESOME props including a rumbling "beware of the beast in a box," huge talking/moving green ogre, and moving tree. My boyfriend and I love playing mini golf together and I brought him here when he came to visit. We went on a Saturday night and it was full of young kids and their parents. There might've been one or two birthday parties. It was a little crowded so we did have to wait in line for about 10-15 minutes before we could start. The space is really cool; everything glows with the black light. The course is decently challenging and different from the usual outdoor mini golf places I'm used to. They also have a few arcade games, but nothing like D&B. I'd say the ideal age range for a place like this is 8-15. I'm 23 and felt a little old in the crowd. read more

Everything is glowing, the music is playing..it was the ultimate date night. The courses are actually sort of challenging for a first timer, so it kept great conversation and laughs going for a first date..I suggest everyone to check out this place! Bring your wallet and some patience if you come on a weekend afternoon, particularly if the weather is cruddy. I'm wavering between 3 and 4 stars. The cost, however, is a bit of deterrent in giving more than 3 stars, although friendly employees was a big plus. I was here on one of those cold winter Sunday afternoons. We were told there might be a half-hour wait for the golf, so we started playing some games. Well, the wait was well over a half-hour; turns out they let birthday parties go ahead of others waiting, so it took a long time (about an hour, I'd say) for our number to be called (or - precisely - broadcast on the small TV screen above the counter that you need to keep an eye on). Games cost 25 or 50 cents or $1 a piece, so can add up quickly. The golf course was a bit more challenging than I'd expected, but it was fun. Shout out to the owners/managers for finding or training some really nice employees. All seemed to be high school kids, and the girls were friendlier and more helpful than the boys. A bit more explanation and organization could help, though. For example, the first register you see when you walk is NOT to sign up for mini golf. It's for redeeming tickets. The second register, further back, is where you sign up and pay for the golf. When we bought the cards (similar to what Dave & Buster's uses), they did not explain either how to swipe them (and that turned out to be trickier and more frustrating than should be!), nor that the number of tickets you earn adds up automatically on that card. Overall, good clean fun for kids and adults, although if you play more than just the golf, definitely be ready for a pricey afternoon. Where do I start? First, you should know, since me and my 9 and 10 year olds fell in love with this place from the beginning, we've been back 2 more times. So my review isn't just a "one-time" review, I wish I could give them 5-stars, 3 times! To begin with, the location is highly accessible as it is right off of 270/370. And parking is great. So, just getting here and in the place is very easy and convenient. Next, the facility is very clean, and in a wide-open space with tons of arcade games for all ages. This place has to be 10,000 sqft! They even have massage chairs for us old people who need a break from chasing our kids around who are clearly having way too much fun! The staff is professional, courteous, and very accommodating. The custom painted artwork, And the party rooms are awesome! And the statues and characters are amazing, some even come to life with full movement and sound when you trigger a motion sensor! Another hidden gem in MoCo! What makes monster mini golf different from ordinary mini golf? Well, this one takes place entirely in darkness. Most impressive about this place are the decorations, artwork, and animatronic-type characters or props. The artwork involves puns on celebrity names, many of which are from the 90s or earlier, which is a fun "wink" to the adults playing through. (As is the 90s pop music soundtrack!) The best prop is a giant ogre creature, which suddenly blows himself up to huge proportions-- a total treat to the golfer! There's also an amazing rat display and various creatures around the holes. The holes themselves are moderately challenged- not too easy or hard, except for the final hole, which ridiculously simple. I probably would have enjoyed it more if the difficulty level varied a bit from hole to hole, but it was definitely enjoyable. Another fun, zany activity when the weather isn't great! Lived in MoCo my whole life and I never knew about this spot. I looked up Dave and busters and to my surprise this location came up. It is in a uncommon area however I was very surprised when I came in. Not only was I greeted by great and welcoming staff but the entire atmosphere was awesome. Come here on a date night and have some fun. The prices are reasonable and you can spend a lot of good time . I would mention this. Come here when there won't be any kids. There are going to be middle schoolers and a lot of hyperactive kids that are going to be cutting through this course and beaming the golf balls. One of the kids managed to hit my partner in the leg during our game from across the room . Although the staff is great they can be more strict and observant on these types of behaviors. Great place, fun golf! We held a meeting here and is was pretty cool. We brought in our food from Panda Fresh! They supplied the drinks (non-alcoholic - sigh) and we had a terrific time. The staff is among the friendliest I have met and Frank, the owner, couldn't be more accommodating! If I had designed the course, I would have made some more space between holes to allow for more people to hang out waiting - it felt slightly cramped. If I had children, I would head back there. We found this place on yelp while looking for something fun to do with the kids. Great place to have fun. Staff is friendly. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the mini golf portion can be kinda swamped. The ppl ahead wanted to take a dozen pics at every hole which held things up and when I have little kids that can't hit the ball perfect u end up having ppl waiting behind you as well. Drove 22 miles out the way during winter break 2016. I went during the weeknight about 2 hours before closing. One of the people at the front desk immdediately greeted us and I told him it was my first time and he took the time to explain how it all work and then sent me over to the other front desk person and he gave us our golf club and ball. When you first walk in, it's like an experience like no other. You're captivated by the flashing lights, vivacious music, beautiful artwork and the glowing smiles of the employees. When my husband and I first walked in, we received a warm welcome from the greeter at the door. Entering the course, we were fascinated by the realistic artwork on the walls. There were several DJ announcements throughout our time on the course and we participated in ALL of the contests. They were SO much fun! I especially enjoyed the dance contest. Every song on the playlist took us back down memory lane. I appreciated the fact that the mad scientists (cute idea for the labcoats) on the course gave everyone frequent opportunities to win a prize. The prizes were cute little knick knacks you can put on the dashboard in your car. I really like the idea of the 18th hole being a clown but, I wish that it did something exciting like laugh when you get a hole in one or something of that nature. The arcade had a variety of games that were fun to play. My husband and I truly appreciated the games we grew up with like Ms. Pacman and Galaga. We were new to the fun card system where we had to swipe our card for each game, but the employees were very kind and helpful on guiding us on how to use it. I would highly recommend that EVERYONE visit Monster Mini Golf in Gaithersburg. The entire experience made us feel welcomed, comfortable and appreciated as customers. I love that this is an indoor mini golf facility. I love that they have fun employees who walk around in lab coats and give away little trinkets throughout your game (ie. "if you have a pink golf ball then you get a prize!" or "if you show off your dance moves during this song you get a prize!") They encourage everyone to have a good time and get into the game. I love that. I also loved the music- not just top 40s pop but some really great old school stuff. Only thing I didn't love is the monster theme. But I knew that going in. It's a great spot for kids but also for a group of friends at any age really. Asa 20something I had a great time not only at the mini golf course but the arcade as well. My girls ages 10 and 12 love this place. It's small enough to where I can sit in the adult section and read a book while they play golf and go crazy on the video games. The place is all black-lit but not annoyingly so. I will say that young children under 4/5 may not respond positively to the place, especially young children with sensory sensitivities. The place is dark, mildly loud (it boasts it's own "radio station" and plays kid-appropriate music), and is full of illuminated clowns, ogres, mummies and skeletons... some of which will break out in random spooky laughter and sounds. That said, parents will be able to tell how their child will respond as soon as you enter the place. There is a glowing skeleton in a desk as soon as you walk through the main door. And as soon as you walk into the second set of doors you step right into the environment I described above. Each time I've gone I've observed many young children having wonderful times... until mom or dad tried to get them to leave :). The video games are decently priced, between .50 - $1.50. I usually put $10 on my girls' cards. Between that and a round of golf my girls are satisfied and I can get them out of there with little retort. A strategy I've used with them for years is to take them to these places about an hour or so before lunch. They work-up an appetite and are then happy to grab CAVA or & Pizza before heading home. Unless you are there for a party there is no food. There are a couple of vending machines where you can grab a snack, but I've never found it necessary. I say just toss a couple of granola bars in a bag and be done. It's definitely worth a visit. Dads can even drop moms off at the Nordstrom Rack around the corner. Came here on a weekday as soon as it opened so there were no lines. Made the experience pleasant so there's no waiting to do for the person in front of you to finish their round. With that said, I can see why people complain because there are no gaps between each holes and it would get hectic with a lot of people. I found the glow in the dark feature to be pretty awesome actually. It is kind of scary w/ the clean and the giant ogre that pops up but done really well. This course is surprisingly challenging. I like that it's indoors - it was 90 outside and we wanted an indoor activity that I could do while 8 months pregnant...zavazone was not going to be it! The decor, black lights and neon paint, animatronic ghouls, skeletons and punny paintings of famous people as zombies, is cheesy, but I suppose that's part of all mini-golf experiences to some degree. The facility is clean and well taken care of, all of the things that are supposed to move move, and the dim lighting adds an extra challenge to play. It's a little weird that there's no physical separation between where one hole ends and the next begins, but we only had someone else's ball roll onto our area a couple of times. My only real complaint is that it's pretty expensive at $12/person. Maybe I'm used to playing in Ocean City, where it's more in the ballpark of $7/person.
