We booked a private party at Tactical Airsoft Arena for a casual outing with 10 people. Most of us were first-timers and even two of our dads joined us. It was definitely an awesome experience. The field layout is one of the highlights. It's tight CQB but designed really well, with a central room and perimeter hallway that keeps both sides balanced. The areas between respawns add variety with different sightlines and angles, so every round feels a little different. IThe layout makes camping very difficult so it helped keep the pace high, which we all appreciated. The staff went above and beyond. Our ref was flexible with game modes and helped keep everything organized and moving so we got the most out of our 3-hour rental. He even rotated in some of his personal upgraded markers so we could try setups with optics and lights, which was a nice bonus. Safety was taken seriously with a full briefing (video + walkthrough) and strict FPS checks. My personal marker was shooting a bit hot, and the owner swapped the spring for free and let me keep both springs. This small gesture one example of many that speaks volumes to how they treat customers. The staging area shows some wear from heavy use, but that's expected in a high traffic facility and didn't impact the experience. They also have cameras setup in the field that stream to the staging area TVs. We did a 2v2 competition and we were able to spectate our friends going head-to-head. Definitely bring water because you'll get a workout, though they do have drinks and snacks available onsite. As a private party, they also allow you to bring food and coolers for drinks if you'd like. What stood out most was how accessible it was for all skill levels. We had several beginners, and it was great watching everyone get more comfortable and confident as the session went on. Booking private was 100% worth it. Being able to control your group makes a big difference. Overall, great value, great staff and a really fun environment. Would absolutely go back. read more

This was my first time doing this. I've done laser tag and paintball in the past, so this was a first. I enjoyed myself but may treat my husband and his friends to it in the future. It reminded me of call of duty (of course without the blood and killing). There were 4 15 minute sessions and I could tell that many of the players were regulars. I sat out the 4th session. We went for the first time for my sons 14th birthday and it was amazing! We had never done it before so went early on a Sunday and were the only ones there. The staff was super friendly and took time to explain everything to us. Then they let us have a game by ourselves. Once we were done there were other, more experienced players who we played with and that was great. Everyone was so nice and welcoming and made it fun and competitive. Sadistic fun! It was my first time playing airsoft and I loved it! Who doesn't love shooting a gun? It does sting when you get hit with the BB pellets. I have gone paintball shooting in the past and knew to wear layers. However, it does get really hot after running around a lot. The admission fee allows for unlimited plays so you can basically spend the entire day there. Each game is about 15-20 minutes long and has a different mission (capture the flags, clock watch, etc). Before playing, beginners have to watch a short video to explain the rules of airsoft. It was a pretty entertaining video! I was here with a group of about 20 people for a private event. The arena is pretty big and did not seem crowded at all. We got split into two teams (Orange and Blue) and got colored arm bands to distinguish the teams, but sometimes it is hard to see the bands so you may end up shooting your teammate. We had our own safe zone to get back to when we got hit or if we needed to rest. The layout was like a maze. The walls were high enough to dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge any bullets. You can bring your own gear as long as the gun shoots 300 feet per second or less. They will test it out beforehand. If you don't have gear, you can rent for $22 or buy your own there. I borrowed my friend's gear so I don't know the conditions of their equipment. Overall, I'd recommend giving this a try! It is pricey though. With rental and admission fee, you'll find yourself dropping almost $50. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They sell small snacks and drinks. Plenty of parking. Doesn't look like much from the outside however, it's an entire indoor airlift range where you can enjoy a fun filled day with a group of your friends or for practice. They sell a wide variety of air soft handguns and rifles that you can purchase at a reasonable price. It gets pretty crowded, but it clears out pretty fast. I haven't enjoyed the indoor air soft arena but hoping to get a group of friends together to have fun with. Four and a half stars: TAA is gooooood for an indoor airsoft arena. There is only one bathroom with a stack of Costco TP packages. The entry/staging area/gathering room can be cramp once people start to roll in, getting their gear ready, paying their fees, or looking at the nice deals TAA has going on new and used weaponry. And then the adventure begins. With 3600 square feet of free form arena, TAA has a changing labyrinth of fun. Next week's layout may be completely different, allowing for a new experience in the exact same location. Raining? Snowing? High winds? Icy conditions? Mosquitos? Nope. It's all inside and contained. Like other reviewers, I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful. We came early to beat the crowds and luckily one regular and some of the staff jumped in to help the kids get started. This place rocks. Tactical Airsoft Arena is an airsoft (gun) shooting place in the industrial section of Rockville. The actual playing area is quite large and convoluted - it fits about 20-30 players extremely comfortably. Guns, gear, masks, and other necessities can be rented at the front fairly cheaply, meaning that you can come here with relatively little planning. The games played in the arena range the gamut in terms of actual rules, but the basic idea is simple: shoot the other team. Provided armbands allow you to identify your team, and friendly fire is (thankfully!) rare, so the play is fast, intense, and involved. Being shot with a bullet HURTS, but not extremely so - the worst wound I receive did bleed (I got caught in the knuckle with a closely-fired bullet), but it didn't hurt all too much. This is definitely the sort of sport that could be played by younger children, albeit with a consideration of the possible physical pain involved. I can't say enough about the niceness of everyone here. Unlike certain other similar sports (lazer tag), I never got the impression that anyone here played unfairly, was overly-invested, or was overly-aggressive. The staff were extremely helpful to newcomers (like me!) but also firm about the rules, making sure everyone was on a roughly equal playing field. Best yet, everyone had good sportsmanship - the "us vs. them" attitude was lost the second the game was over. I can't recommend this place enough - I wish I knew about it earlier! read more

Tiny! It's quarter of the size of Tac City in California and barely similar in size to Replay. However I found the players pretty friendly. I think they noticed my Tac City patch and my set up that they knew I wasn't the most casual. 300fps for guns is a nice thing to have especially when these engagements are crazy. It doesn't hurt as much as Replay. I got welts here. I drew blood in Replay. You might not need a full gun but rather a solid pistol or very small PDW/SMG. I also get a discount with the Tac City patch. So if any California players are in this side of the map come here and take advantage. read more

This Place Sucks Ass. I will give several point to show why. I have been frequenting Tactical for over a year. It's the closest to D.C where I live. 1. Prices are expensive. I could see 24 dollars if the Arena was bigger. All other fields indoor/outdoor charge 20 and Replay in Glendale Burnie Charges 15 and less if you come later. One bottle of .20 cost 16 bucks there. Everywhere else I've played cost 12 2. Game play is fast paces. But it takes so long to start. I was there 4 1/2 hours and played 4 games. Games only last 30 min max. There is no timer so pretty much when the next ref gets ready he will say so and you can go in the back. Them you have to wait for him to give the safety briefing to everyone again. I was there last night and most games took 20 min or more to get started once we where in the back. (I have a lot of wasted video to prove it). 3. Refs are not good for anything but sitting there. The don't call shots or correct someone when the see wrong doing. Even after being told someone isn't calling their shots. Regulars do what they want. 4. Don't have a large selection of guns and accessories what you see is what you get.and that's not much. Now that that is done I will give suggestions for improvement. Not that I don't like the place but I have spent at least 1200 bucks there and have been disappointed several times. 1. When someone comes and pays for admission give them the safety briefing right then. This will cut the time before getting the game going down. When we go in the back only thing we should be doing is picking teams and what game we are playing. 2. A timer for in between games.. That way we are not dependent on when the ref decides he's ready. More attentive refs. Lower the prices if someone comes Later. I know you have price points but 4 dollar mark up on already marked up items doesn't work. I will not be returning. read more

Decided to stop and try this little arena out. Right away when I walked in there wasn't much room for people to place their things, people were basically shoulder to shoulder getting setup. On top of that we paid almost 120$ for three people and one rental. The rental wasn't the best felt like they gave me a dead gun. The refs and workers were major assholes knowing they can treat people the way they do since there isn't many airsofting places around. Treated my group with much disrespect while we waited for two hours, they had one register for a line that was almost out the door. While we were downstairs playing I was getting over heated and was safely pulling my mask up the littlest bit to catch my breath and the ref said "if I see you pulling up your mask again I'm gonna have to kick you out." I tried to tell him it was too hot but he didn't give a single fuck. On top of all of that people don't call when they get shot/hit even if you purposefully shoot them A LOT. Refs using bad language and playing nasty songs but tell people not to curse..? Not going back again! read more

I've started airsoft at this arena back in 2015-2016. Loved it so much I got all my first gear here at this location plus since here in Maryland it's the only arena we had at the time. Few years past by I didn't go there 2017-2020. Now I just got back to the arena with my lil bro and some friends and man I've missed it. Overall is good place to play and great staff great service. Regular are nice and lean to help you if your not familiar with the arena. They do need to update there rental gear thou looks like it's been same since I remember from 2015 idk maybe just me. Other then that I know because of COVID they are not stock on some items but I really wish they had green gas all the time. I like to support the local airsoft arena and prefer not to order elsewhere but past 3 weeks they didn't have any and sucks cuz that made me rent a gun witch I shouldn't have... but I love this place it's my local arena and I'll support them as much possible great people!!! great times !!!! I came here a while back for a friend's going-away party. The staff at TAA are really great guys, and they're happy to answer any questions you have. I had rented a gun that I thought was malfunction, but they kindly pointed out that I was just loading it incorrectly! The arena itself is an indoor, urban-style arena. LOTS of corners. It lends itself well to tactics like camping and all that... which, despite what some may think, ARE legit. It seems that a lot of the guys who come here are in some sort of law enforcement or military, so chances are you'll have a few people (hopefully on your side) who really know what they're doing. We came on a rainy Friday night and it was pretty crowded, but we still had a blast. You can also order some pizza if you're hungry, and sit out a few rounds. It's a bit pricy to rent the guns and gear, but so worth it because they give you lots of ammo meaning you can spend quite a few rounds here. They also offer drinks at reasonable prices. Just remember to really dress for the occasion. Don't leave skin unnecessarily exposed. These BBs sting. read more

The hands down best indoor airsoft in the area. The staff is very knowledgeable in many ways. The techs do good work repairing airsoft guns, and the desk staff is very helpful with any questions you might have regarding things you might need (or want) to buy. The only problem is that sometimes they do not have all the parts you might need for mods or repairs, so call before you show up. If they don't have the parts, they can order them for you. The gameplay is significantly different from outdoor airsoft. There is a whole lot less waiting and walking, and the action is near immediate and sustained until the game ends. Outdoor games end up with you being actively engaged for probably an hour most in a 12 hour day at a field. Games at TAA only last for 20 minutes or so, but you will be engaged almost the entire time. The good news is, you don't pay per game you pay for the whole day! The field is hard to describe, the actual layout changes every 2 to 3 months to keep it fresh, but it's been described as 3x3 rooms with a lot of different paths and cover. It's probably best to go check out the field yourself to see it. read more

Beware of old reviews: there is new management as of October 18th, 2014. The new TAA is not only as good as the old TAA, it's actually better. Games, such as domination and control, have been modified so that now you don't have to reach down down on the floor to flip a box. Although I haven't seen old games such as black hawk down and the one where your entire team has to get inside the enemy spawn, they are also constantly creating innovative games. This is not the cheapest game in the world, but for around $23 (includes taxes), you get to play for 7 hours. I understand that rentals up that price to around $40, so if you enjoy your time and want to come back regularly, buy equipment recommended from them at the shop. It will honestly save you money in the long run. To finish this review, listen to and follow ALL safety rules. Some, such as taking your mask off in the arena will get you kicked out and I have seen people get kicked out for that reason, but the other option is potentially losing eye-sight, so think before criticizing that. Anyways, go and enjoy yourself. The bb's sting, but once you get going with the adrenaline, you don't care anymore. My advise: push yourself into the action. read more

Best place to go, minus the mess normally usually associated with paintballing. I come here whenever I have time because the games are fast paced and if your lucky on special event nights...ZOMBIE games are played which are incredibly fun when your trying to run away from your zombiefied friends! There is plenty of parking in the front lot and also a restroom for convenience. This place is frequently busy as they also have a quality selection of guns and an in house mechanic. Its fun for kids and adults alike and it's all good! I usually see groups of business parties going into TAA for a good time and a laugh. Recently got back into the sport and needed some work done on a gun I recently purchased. I live in Maryland but had some free time so I decided to drive to the Manassas location to check it out and potentially get some work done. When I arrived I was greeted by the manager (Sook). He was very personable, knowledgeable and gave me a tour of the facility that's currently under construction. After a conversation about the sport and filling out paper work for my work order, I left. My gun was ready the next day and I used it the following day. Great work by the shop.
