Monster treats is a great place to go for ice cream. They serve Amy's ice cream. Which is delicious! Ordered the coffee ice cream with Reese pieces. Delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. There is some seating outside the shop. So depending on if there is seating, you can enjoy your treat in shade. Which ia good. Cause the seating is under a nice large tree. The shop ia off the Wimberley square. Next to The Budaful Hiker. Worth checking out for a sweet treat in this summer weather. read more

Cute, quaint shop with Amy's ice cream & candy. I got the Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream which was fudge like & the Coffee which was coffee flavored perfectly! Hubs got the Bee Cave Crunch(Mexican Vanilla, Cinnamon & Candied Pecans) & Coffee. He said the combo was perfect when eaten together. I don't think I've ever had a bad ice cream store experience, and this place is not a bad one either. I'm familiar with the ice cream flavors since it's Amy's Ice Cream that they're selling, but the inside is nice and has separate candies on the side wall you can get besides the ice cream. If you've never had Amy's Ice Cream then I'd suggest going, if you have then just go anyway because you know how epically tasty it already is. read more

Great friendly service and fantastic shop serving Amy's ice cream which is an Austin iconic homemade ice cream establishment.

After a delicious lunch and a nice walk around Wimberley, my friend and I popped into a hiking store which was attached to Monster Treats. I saw that they mentioned they sold candy so I made my way over to buy some. Much to my surprise... the candy wall was almost empty. I asked the woman behind the counter about and it she didn't seem to have any thoughts about it... a bit disappointing. My friend decided to order ice cream from here as it's Amy's Ice Cream (a staple from our time in Austin) that will never do you wrong. The woman working was very helpful with all of our questions on the different flavors and offered us samples of those we were most interested in. My friend ended up ordering two scoops with one being pumpkin and the other being a brown sugar vanilla. The pumpkin was classic and what you would expect but the brown sugar vanilla was the best ... yum yum yum. One thing to note on the ice cream is that it has a very thick and rich consistency. Definitely would've been easier to eat directly from a cone as the spoon seemed to just push it around in the cup. I want to give this place more stars, but with how out of stock they were with items and the very limited selection (along with a bit pricier of ice cream), I really couldn't justify it. Overall, a good place to visit if you love Amy's Ice Cream and want some while in Wimberley but there are plenty of ice cream places to visit. read more

My first visit to Wimberley was bittersweet to say the least as it was hot and an awkward day as if I'm going through the motions, delaying the inevitable. External influences aside lets talk Monster Treats, shall we? Located in a very safe place of town with horrible traffic at times, yet ample dock spaces to tie off your ship (if you're willing to walk), one might stumble onto this nook establishment. On this 100 degree hot Saturday the sign springs hope from the heat in terms of ice cream! The outside is bare bones and honestly, I was after AC and cold yum yums, but after walking in I felt like a kid with all the wonderful treats caressing my eyes, tempting me to cast aside the thing called "diet" in exchange for something cool. To the left is a small treasure of candies and stuffed animals next to a beverage cooler. To the right are some trinkets, swag and so on. In other words, suggestive selling to kids' impulsive needs as if it were Toys R Us but for all ages. Directly in front, hangs a huge colorful chalk board with their flavors and below, all their ice cream in a case beckoning like sirens of Greek lore, tempting the ship to come closer into dangerous waters; for adults this is stuff we have run for miles to work off. I was after a root beer float but I wanted to sample some of their other flavors. Let me be clear, the ladies behind the counter are more than willing to dish out as many samples as your heart desires. But don't be the person that samples everything without a purchase as if they happened upon a dead pirates plunder, it's just bad form; don't be that person. That said all the samples were very tasty but my heart was on a root beer float. To be honest I made a mistake as I liked the Mexican vanilla but in a root beer float, that idea sunk like an anchor as it didn't play well together. This wasn't the establishments' fault, rather my selection. That aside it was as simple and delectable as one might surmise, ice cream slowly melting like an ice berg in the ocean during summer months. The creaminess offset but the strong A&W or Mug carbonation and flavors. All the flavors I sampled were excellent and for the small pirates they can create all kids of sundaes, cones, etc from candies or order cookies and other sweet goodies. I'm older and don't eat sweets much but this place is a hit. I highly suggest bringing the kids but be warned seating is very limited. So if you're at sea and wish to tie up for a brief moment, sail on up to Monster Treats and indulge me matey! read more

They have board games anyone may enjoy when sitting outside their shop. Monster Treats ice cream is made locally with natural ingredients. I tasted different flavors and they were all very tasty. We came here for an afternoon treat after checking out Jacob's Well and the cute shops in Wimberley. We both got two scoops, I got ice cream sandwich and Oreo in a cup and my husband got trick or treat (KitKat, Heath in chocolate) and monster (Oreo, Heath in vanilla) in a waffle cone. We came here for ice cream on a Wednesday afternoon. I had the mint chocolate chip and a flavor with a unique name (Jawas something?) that was delicious. I was very happy with mine. My brother said there was not enough cookie dough in his chocolate chip cookie dough, but otherwise we were all happy and concurred the ice cream was good and creamy. Cute little dessert spot in downtown Wimberley! All of the ice cream flavors in here are unique and sound very yummy. The workers were very nice and they let you try any of the flavors. There is also a little candy bar in the store. I got strawberry pop tart and it was a very yummy! My boyfriend got a scoop of that and a scoop of aloha which was a coconut and pineapple sorbet and oh man that one was so refreshing and good! Small shop with a great selection, they also had some bulk candies for sale. Overall the kids loved their treats, but it was a bit on the expensive side. I enjoyed the saltwater taffy, I am sure it was a bulk bought taffy. But it was fresh and the selection of flavors was amazing. Vegan Mexican vanilla was amazing. I'm lactose intolerant so I always struggle finding a good tasting vanilla ice cream flavor without having a strong hint of almond or coconut. This one was really sweet and really good. The service was also good. She noticed I was lactose intolerant and offered another flavor that was like tropical sorbet. My girlfriend had the triple berry tres leches and she said it was really good. A MUST have if you are craving sweets in Wimberley. read more

this was me and my boyfriend's first trip to wimberley and going to monster treats was well worth it. it is so underrated and by far the best ice cream we've ever had. the woman who served us was extremely nice & even gave us recommendations on which ice cream flavors we would like based on our preferences. if you're going, definitely get the mexican vanilla and jawa's junk pile ice cream flavors! if i could, i'd give this place 100 stars!!! read more

They've got loads of unique flavors, even vegan options plus servers are all so sweet and helpful.
