Here are some thoughts: -The service was very friendly and very good. Place was busy on a Monday afternoon, but we got seated right away. Waiter was good. -We ordered the truffle Parmesan fries for an appetizer, girls loved 'em! -My wife and daughter ordered kale salads. I tried it--excellent! -I ordered the shaved beef sandwich. To be honest, I didn't love it. I just had some Texas beef brisket the day before, and this didn't measure up!The fries, however, were really good! Overall, highly recommended! Nice spot. Enjoyed the food but enjoyed the views better. The weather was super nice when we came, around 75ish. Our waiter was a bit slow to serve us, but eventually came around. Live music was also nice to have in the background, but it will get loud if you sit close to them, just be weary. The food didn't make me jump with joy, but it was pretty good. Ideally I would've liked my pork a little bit on the leaner side, felt like i was biting into alot of fat. Taste wise, it was phenomenal, the smokiness of my dish brought out great flavors. I will start this off by saying we went here at 11 before the lunch rush started and it was packed as we were leaving. They fill up with reservations fast. As far as the food goes, I hadn't had anything to eat yet so I was very much in the mood for breakfast and they do not have that. However, we did grab a few snacks and they were on point, so I'm assuming their food is pretty good too. The location is beautiful. I was staying in Wimberley and had a shopping day planned--always a favorite way to explore a town. I've walked past this spot many times and finally decided to stop in. It was early afternoon on a Sunday, and the place was still buzzing, which wasn't surprising. It was a beautiful day, and since the bar had an open seat, I decided to give my tired walking feet a break and grab some lunch. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and the chicken sandwich. The fries were a little greasy for my taste (I'm not a big fan of coated fries), but the sandwich itself was really good. The bartender was young, friendly, and attentive. During our conversation, she shared that she was about to get a new foster dog and was absolutely glowing with excitement. She even showed me pictures of the little nugget, which completely made my day. Coincidentally, it was my own dog's gotcha day--she was truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog--so hearing this bartender's excitement about fostering felt like one of those meant-to-be moments. I was happy to leave something a little extra in honor of Theodore, aka Teddy. I miss my girl and this seemed like a nice way to remember her on this day. This is my new favorite restaurant. Great location, decent parking available nearby even if their lot is full. The lookout from the balcony is amazing! Our server, Chloe, was awesome. We had a small (but hilarious) issue where the wind blew halfway through our meal and sprayed our table with tiny seeds or something. The manager was amazing and took care of half of the check since we had finished half of the food. Honestly, it was no one's fault and it was pretty funny, but the fact they stepped up without being asked was incredible. We had the kale salad (which I'll be dreaming about until I go back), the nachos, the chips and queso, the truffle fries, and the Mac and cheese. Everything was amazing. The ambiance is the best part of this restaurant as it's open and modern with collective seating and newer furnishings. Skip the truffle fries, there's nothing interesting or worthwhile about it. Go for the steak sandwich instead of the steak and get the butter as an extra for a better price and same great taste. The fried chicken sandwich is nothing worth trying. Creekhouse is in a beautiful setting with huge cypress trees and a creek beside the open air restaurant. It is a nice place. The management however is cheap and dishonest. The menu clearly states they serve a "Grass-Fed Smash Burger" with "Two Grass-Fed Smash Patties..." What is dishonestly served is one pre-made frozen overcooked dry patty not anywhere near worth the $18.00 that is charged. That was a $6.00 hamburger, at best! Smash patties, by definition, are balls of fresh ground hamburger that are smashed flat at the time of cooking, not pre-made frozen pre-formed patties probably made out of the cheapest hamburger available. When asked about being served only one pre-formed patty instead of two real smash patties like the menu says, the server quickly responded with oh, they used to be two 3oz smash patties but it's quicker and cheaper to just make them with one 6oz patty. Really???? So management thinks customers are ok with that? They obviously rely on the one-time tourist business and don't care about repeat customers. I'm not looking for cheap and quick, I prefer a pleasant experience with good food but the bad food greatly overshadowed the nice atmosphere. Too bad. Management decided to go cheap and quick and didn't bother to change the menu? And customers would be ok with that? And the server who obviously KNEW what was going on didn't bother to tell the customer about the change to cheap and quick before they were ordered??? False advertising AND deliberately dishonest. What that is screaming to me is DON'T EVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!! read more

Went for a quick bite before heading to San Antonio and my friend highly suggested this place Texas is just the place to eat and be. Everyone there is so pleasant. From the minute you walk in til the min you walk out. The food was delicious the app of the queso truffle fries amazing and my salad was great. Our first time here and to the area. We sat at the bar which had a nice view to the outside. The outside seating was very nice along the creek but we wanted some cool air and it looked like rain ( it did rain a tiny bit). The service was very good and the bartender knew a lot about the beers. The food was good but it took a long time to get served to us and the French fries were cold. They gave us new hot fries. My friends and I are in town for a girls weekend, and we kicked it off with dinner at Creekhouse. I was thrilled when I noticed the amount of gluten-free options the restaurant has to offer. We started off with a round of drinks (highly recommend the butter pecan old fashioned) and a few apps (I got Parmesan truffle fries). Everything was wonderful. Our entrees took a bit long to come out (it was BUSY), but my chicken sandwich (on a GF bun) came out perfect. I'm not crazy about the trend of the additional charge for a protein on an already expensive salad/bowl, but I understand the economics of today's restaurant industry. We had a reservation for 7pm on Memorial Day. Out of 5 available main dishes they had "run out" of two of them. Due to dietary requirements, this left us with one option only to then find out that they only had one left. This was a special birthday celebration that we had planned a month in advance. For a restaurant of this caliber to not plan to have enough food to the point where they run out of 3 of their 5 main dishes at 7pm is just extremely poor management. I ended up having to order basic fish tacos, which made the whole special birthday. Nice restaurant celebration. Feel mediocre at best especially considering the tacos were cold and very poor quality. Two stars instead of one because the truffle fries were great and the cocktails were good along with the service. read more

I became a resident in Wimberley Texas some 7 years ago. Creekhouse was a great local go to for a great mean and drinks. However, This father's day I made several attempts to make a reservation and no one picked up. We drove in anyway. We arrived at 11:15 with a party of 7. Only 4 people in the restaurant and were told "1:00 was the earliest reservation". No consideration even though the place was empty. Actually the guy at the front was borderline ,rude. We went down the street to Community Pizza. Very welcoming and boy was the food great. Happy employees that welcomed us with our three grandchildren. Awesome food and a good time for all. Afterwards, we went back as we parked next to Creekhouse and it wasn't even at 20% capacity. EMPTY. We will never again share time and money with the Creekhouse establishment. read more

Such a cute little restaurant! The vibes are definitely there! Great music playing and love the indoor outdoor openness! I got the frozen margarita and yard bird sandwich. The margarita is definitely strong imo. The yard bird was well made. The sauces and cheese compliment the chicken so well and the balance of the arugula is nice too. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a cucumber salad and the portions were perfect, food delicious and service spectacular. Creekhouse Kitchen is located in lil' Wimberley and is totally new to me, but I loved the place. It is perfectly located overlooking a former body of water and is completely open. Creek house is a bit hard to find, but it's worth it. Ambience is nice and modern. It overlooks the creek and the view is comforting. The staff is very attentive and helpful viz menu suggestions. We were there for a lunch reunion with a couple of old friends, so we were leisurely about it the whole experience. But no rush from the staff, who were accommodating. We started with a trout dip appetizer, which was first rate-- rich and thick. I had for my entre an order of the Al pastor tacos. The meat was nicely spiced and plentiful. The sauce and pineapples were excellent, and overall it was ample and tasty. My companion had the mango tacos, which were less adequate. The taco was dry. My Bloody Mary was excellent, as was her mimosa. Prices are decent, considering what a touristy town Wimberley is. We'd go back! read more

Have been a few times, and it was not great but not bad until this last time. Took my friends who were visiting from out of country for lunch. Two of us ordered the power bowl and what they served was a handful of spinach with one piece of feta a couple of sad tomatoes and no sweet potatoes or garbanzo beans as advertised.. basically it was a $14 handful of spinach. I was so looking forward to a good and healthy lunch. It took a bit to get a hold of the waiter and once he saw what was served, he also agreed that it wasn't what was advertised on the menu and it looked bad. He said he was going to talk to the manager and take it off the check. He came back 15 min later and said the manager would only take 20% off the price of the bowl (power bowl- not spinach salad to be clear). The waiter offered to pay for it out of his own pocket because he said it was embarrassing what they served us. He then spoke about how the restaurant has been cutting corners with food and receiving more complaints but not listening to customers. All that to say, we will never go back. I tipped that waiter well for his honesty and understanding (of course I didn't accept his offer to pay). There are so many better restaurants with integrity in Wimberley that you can skip this one and get an honest meal! I'm sad to have to write this review, but it sucks to pay for a meal and leave hungry and disappointed. read more
