They were the best, a family owned business who serviced my mother''s cars, my cars and my children cars. My mother told me about the business when their father was running it. We've met his wife, sons, grandsons - all who have helped run the business for over 25 years. The prices were reasonable, everyone was caring and helpful. They were definitely a hidden gem, even after getting busy, I did not mind waiting. Just found out it's closed, we heard the rumbling as the gentrification of that area started happening. I came here on a Wednesday morning worried I wouldn't make my 12:00 lunch in Melbourne. I had a screw stuck directly in my tire and read great reviews about this place. When it comes to your car. You. Do. Not. Take. Chances. Listen. To. The. Reviews. The entrance was hard to find...still don't know where it would be, but I walked up to one of the mechanics. Even though he was working on another car, he greeted me warmly, asked what the issue was, and gave me a timeframe immediately, telling me who was in line before me, and how long he thought it would take to get me back on the road. I got out of there in just 30 minutes, and that was after waited for the mechanic to finish up with two other customers. I appreciated that this shop was so friendly and casual and I didn't feel like I was formally jumping through hoops to fix my car. The mechanic installed a plug in my tire and it was only $5. I even had a nice conversation with another customer who was waiting...I have a feeling that the big box auto repair shops with their stark fluorescent interiors just don't have that same vibe. After going 3 times to a big name company to replace a tire which had a nail puncture, I gave up and went to Montalvo Tires just off Curryford Rd. They were very knowledgeable and ordered the tire immediately at a much lower cost than the previous company. They scheduled the service for the following day and called me when the tire arrived. I was there for less than a 1/2 hour watching them do exactly what they had promised to do. They were courteous and very professional, and they followed through on what they had promised to do in a timely fashion. You'll never find a more honest group of mechanics in Orlando. I myself have had oil changes, tire service and wheel bearings replaced here. They'll never try to up-sell you on services you don't need. However, if you're one of those people who can't bear to sit without air conditioning or a nice waiting room, feel free to overpay somewhere else. Example: my GF had asked if she should replace her brakes. Montalvo Tires told her "nope save your money, you have about 6 months left on it." A few weeks later she gets a flat tire and her family took her car to another shop that wasn't Montalvo where they recommended she change the brakes immediately, replace all 4 tires (including 1 she just bought a month before), a tune up, and alignment for a low low price of $990. Don't let their small facility fool you. These are honest people who do great work, for a fraction of what fancy repair shops will charge you. read more

I brought my car in for a check up and they made sure I had no codes on my car checked all the fluids and my tires. These guys are great! My brakes were in need of work, and these guys let me provide my own parts, and they did the work for the cost of labor. A great deal. And they were fast! If you're looking for a frilly waiting area, this isn't the place for you. The waiting area is outdoors, under an awning... so no A/C. I'm new to the area and needed a patch for my tire. i came here after going to another tire shop that just wanted to take all my money. The prior shop said they couldn't patch my tire, threw the spare on my car and took the whole rim off my bad tire. The employees at Montalvo Tires were super nice and looked at my tire. These guys are seriously the best. I've never encountered a more trustworthy group of individuals in my entire life. If you need work done on your car, bring it here. Not only did they tell me I didn't need half the stuff tires plus/firestone told me I needed they do the best work and for a reasonable price. They are family owned and operated. Get there early before opening because they don't take appointments and operate on a first come first serve basis. Here is my story I originally took my car into Firestone and received a phone call saying that if I don't get my cv joints replaced that day I would be stranded on the road. Skeptical of that statement my colleague referred me to Montalvo Tires where they said I had about two years left on them before replacement. Being as I already bought the parts online I just had them replaced through them. I also had my motor mounts replaced as well. I will be taking all of my future car needs here from here on out. read more

Like the other reviews stated, the shop isn't much to look at but that's where any issues end. If you are worried about the aesthetics of the place, quit your whining and walk across the street to the several sandwich shops and bars while you wait. The staff at the place are as friendly and helpful as can be. I had a small but aggravating leak in a tire that I thought was a valve issue. Erick looked at it and within about 2 minutes had located a small screw that I had picked up somewhere along the way. Plugged and out the door 10 minutes later and on my way. At a cost of $5. I'll have another review to add for my truck which I'm pretty sure needs new brakes and rotors on the front. The quote I got from them was about half of what I expected. For the time and effort it would take for me to do the job myself I am more than happy to give them the work while I get on with life! read more

You can't go wrong at Montalvo Tires. In and out quickly, friendly service, great prices, the used tires there are generally in decent condition as used goes, and the prices are awesome. The only downside that kept me from 5 stars - selection can sometimes be limited (nature of the business), but also they don't do alignments here and couldn't recommend anyone locally either. It would be nice of them to add that service so they could be a one stop shop. BTW.... two tires on my Toyota out the door $55 for everything (except alignment :) ) read more

They don't have a lobby, so you'll be out in the Florida heat and humidity the whole time. I planned to drop off my vehicle but after waiting in the heat for 10 minutes no one was able to help me and I was already drenched in sweat so I left. The pictures show the whole place, it is basically an awning that can fit two cars sticking out the back of a shoe repair place. I'm sure their service is great, but that doesn't make up for the I'm-not-sure-this-is-legit facility. read more

Much like the other reviews, I'm stopping in to give my praise to Montalvo tires. I got a gnarly screw in my tire while traveling over the holiday. I recently moved downtown, and I had no idea when I would be able to make it up to my normal shop in Sanford. I pulled into the shop on my lunch break hoping that there wouldn't be a wait. Lucky for me, I pulled into the work area and they had the screw out, the plug in, and put air in all of my tires in less than 10 minutes and for $5. Needed tires bad and on a really tight budget. Told me my continuous tire problem is because of suspension. Also told me I only needed 1 new tire instead of 4 like the last place did. Sold me a really good used tire and rotated the others. $45 and I'm out the door? Amazing! Pulled up and they were dealing with other customers. Didn't matter because they immediately acknowledged my presence. I like that I wasn't invisible because they were busy. They checked me out, gave me a quote, spoke to me about options that no one else gave me and put me in service in less than 10 minutes. WOW!! Zero attitudes at this place. The only thing they tried to sell me was safety, time, and savings. No joke. One note; don't come here dressed up with your hair and makeup done or wearing a suit, because you will find a lovely waiting room with a/c. This place NO FRILLS. The waiting area is a car port. After countless horror stories from big name mechanics such as Firestone and Jiffy Lube, I finally found an honest, trustworthy group of mechanics for routine car maintenance. Came in this morning for a tire repair and oil change. There was a long line before me, but I didn't mind waiting. As a woman, it is always unnerving going in for car maintenance, thinking about the prospect of what they will say you need to do this time. These guys did fast, friendly service right in front of you and they didn't try to add on additional work that wasn't needed.
