Today I received the chicken tacos, which are usually served with hot sauce on the side. The sauce does not appear on the food within the menu item photo. I have ordered this recently in the restaurant and at home. I have never received food covered in sauce before; it was always an option delivered as a side dish. I paid for the meal after eating a few bites, tipped and gave my feedback to the waitress before I left. My lips were starting to swell because of the unnecessary hot sauce. I could not salvage any chicken or vegetables from the taco because it was drenched heavily in hot sauce. The food appeared fresh, despite all the toppings. I gave the waitress my feedback before I left. The waitress told me this was my fault because I did not order my food correctly. I mentioned to her how often I ordered this dish as takeout, and she said this was how it was done in-house. I made a point of providing feedback rather than asking for a refund because I enjoyed the rest of the meal. read more

Almost everything came out wrong. The 1st 3 steaks came out overcooked. I kept mine as it was less cooked and edible. 2nd try the 2 other steaks were a bit undercooked but got eaten anyway as to not have to wait anymore. Sides were missing on all 4 meals. My wife's 1st steak was a tiny curly bit but was told it was the same as the other 2 steaks, no way it was 7 ounces. The gravy for the fish and chips came at the end of the meal after we had finished, lol. They did take 2 steaks off the bill as compensation. We will not return for a while. read more

THE BEST Montana's I've been to. I went there with a girlfriend for dinner and drinks and it was great! We had the Kapow! Shrimp and the Oven Baked Antojitos and they were amazing. Both appetizers were flavorful and generous servings. Most impressive was the Kapow! shrimp was not soggy at all. I had the buttermilk fried chicken and it was soooo good, my girlfriend had a veggie fajita and she had nothing but great things to say about it. The service was fantastic. Popped by Montana's for lunch yesterday afternoon. Had the sunny patio to myself. I ordered one of their Somersby Margaritas and the Antijito appetizer. The marg was lovely. Came in a tall glass & was 5oz for $6. The antijitos were yummy as well. You get 6 pinwheels and a small cup of sour cream with pesto on top. They hit the spot. A bit too much cheese for my liking as they had cream cheese and melted cheddar but a nice little snack. read more

I had a better experience here today. Ordered the four seasons goat cheese penne which is also on the express lunch menu. Oooooo.. it was tasty. I also came here with two coworkers who ordered burgers. All of our orders came in quickly & everything was good. I'm raising my review by a star because this place is a consistent performer & because they could handle a decent size group, not mess up any orders, and get the food on the plate in a good amount of time. My boyfriend and I came here solely because we were given a gift certificate. We came on a Sunday around 5 and were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. We were seated 25 minutes later and it was uncomfortably cold in our seat. Our server took our drink order and when our drinks returned, she took our food order. 35 minutes later, our food had not arrived, we still had no cutlery and our drinks were empty and nobody had returned to our table to ask if we needed anything. My boyfriend asked another server if they could get our waitress. She came back apologizing for the food and it did come about 10 minutes later. I ordered the chicken tacos and sweet potato fries. The tacos were great but my fries were cold. I didn't' bother saying anything because I was so hungry. I don't think I would come back to this restaurant. read more

I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants but I was pleasantly enchanted by the rustic midwestern charm of Montana's Cookhouse. I stopped in at this location during a recent road trip. It was a slow day at Montana's but the service was great. Our server was attentive and extremely nice. The menu is very meat heavy but had a very interesting range of meat dishes including ribs, burrito like wraps and rotisserie chicken plates. While I don't eat meat, I was impressed by the unique options presented for my fellow dinner to enjoy. I on the other hand, decided on the veggie burger. Montana's offers sweet potato fries instead of potato fries but know that it is an additional charge to substitute. I chose the original fries but didn't fancy them too much. The burger on the other hand was wow! The patty alone was a sensory overload and then top it with oh so yum bbq sauce. It was a hit in my books. The dessert menu is short and typical, apple dish, brownie dish, but we decided to try the cheesecake covered by a crisp tortilla. As it was our first time to a Montana's, might as well try what is unique to them. The dessert turned out to be deepfried cheesecake. It was very interesting to eat but I would highly recommend splitting the one person serving rather that the larger 2 person serving. It was too much even for someone whose main foodgroup is sugar. Overall, very please with everything Montana's. I am eager to go again and will recommend this place over and over. read more

My best friend and I usually stop by here to grab a quick bite, and so far we have not been disappointed. We went there for lunch today and we had the opportunity to check out their new menu which was released this Monday. There are some great lunch time options such as $9.99 for salad, soup, and half-turkey club sandwich combo. They definitely don't cheapen out on the portions--I was fully satisfied and even had difficulty finishing up the whole meal. The price was definitely worth it. The Turkey club had the options of rye bread, which is what I went with. I think its also important to emphasize that the lettuce and the vegetables on the sandwich were fresh tasting (did not look limp and gross) and actually had flavour. The turkey slices were also a reasonable amount and tasty. My friend got the Fajitas and the waiter was even kind enough to bring us more tortilla without extra. Its a wonderful place to enjoy lunch and grab a bite to eat so I strongly recommend it. The staff was kind, considerate and welcoming. Also, at the end of your receipt they provide you with an opportunity to fill out a survey--and once you do you get an appetizer of up to 10.99$ on the house for your next visit. We will definitely be putting that to use! read more

I usually come to this place after a round of golf and anything taste good when you're hungry. I came to fill my belly but the service here is actually better than most places - hence the extra star I gave it. I had the wings and the NY steak sandwich with fries. The wings were breaded too much and the sauce looked like it was plopped on from a old hot sauce bottle. The steak on the sandwich was cooked medium as I ordered it, but the steak was dry like it has been sitting under a heat lamp for some time and soaked up all the juices in it. Usually i am here for the ribs, but this time i wanted something a bit lighter so i had the Beer battered fish and chips. This was pretty good, so i would say I'm up for it again, and my son had the pulled pork, and his mom had the salmon. They seem to have a few interesting additions to the menu since we were there last. This is not a good steakhouse because it's currently taking what seems like hours to get our food and we've been here for almost an hour now, the waitresses are extremely rude they knocked over my chair while I was sitting in it, and they gave me a dirty look, o feel upset disrespected and stripped of any self respect I've ever had for myself. Only redeemed by the waitress and manager being agreeable and really taking care of the stuff that went wrong with our order. The food is standard Cora's fare: ribs, burgers, whatever. It's all really saucy to mask the rather flavourless texture of burgers and meat. Not that that's bad; it still tastes alright but don't expect to be wowed by the food. We were halfway through our spinach dip when my girlfriend scooped up a bunch of the warm, tasty spread, only to find a four inch long hair in her scoop. She has short, curly hair and mine is short as well; the dip gets served with a layer of melted cheese straight from the kitchen so it was clearly not ours. It was comped so that was good. Second, we ordered a hand carved steak and it came rare/blue when we ordered Medium rare. This was also quickly resolved by management. The store front at least knows how to handle the kitchens mistakes. read more

My friend was violently ill for four days after eating soup and caesar salad at this restaurant in Milton. She didn't like the taste nor the texture and ate only about 1/4 of each. I wouldn't recommend the steak or beef ribs. The new smoked brisket burger is out of this world. Service is okay, could be faster but they are usually busy so there's a good excuse. We go there once a month and the last time was on a Wednesday and kids eat free. Our waitress was run off her feet and then comped our dessert because of the slow service. Attentive service. Large booths to sit in and enjoy the food. If your a person with a large frame like myself you'll appreciate the booth size. Adequate parking outside the restaurant. Horrible service: The lazy waitress took forever to bring us drinks. The food took forever to come out No, it was not busy AT ALL, so they had no excuse and i'm otherwise more understanding and forgiving. Lastly, when I tipped the waitress she didn't even say thanks. Unreal! I love Montanas in Mississauga and anywhere else, it was my favourite chain until this experience. A year later I decided to try again recently, not enough room for my party of 7. Fine, I get that we didn't make reservations. However, there was in fact enough room on the patio, which we gladly accepted....the hostess then came back to say we'd have to now be sitting at two separate tables back to back and insisted that it was as good as all of us being at 1 table. Really? She should go into used car sales, because if this is the case, we might as well be at a different restaurant. We said no and left in a hurry, that'll be the last time I go there! read more

Visited for lunch on May 7th and was very displeased with our experience. Although our server, Tamara, was great, the length of time for our order was unacceptable. The restaurant was not busy at the time, with more thsn half the tables empty. We were seated shortly after 1 pm and ordered nachos to share. More than 40 minutes went by and still no food. When I mentioned to our server that it was a long wait for nachos, she said "I know" then headed to the kitchen. Not 10 seconds later the manager, Nancy, came to our table with a cold plate with cold nachos on it and an excuse that is not meant for customers to hear. She seemed perturbed that I mentioned the cold food but took the plate away and said it would be s couple of minutes for fresh ones. Long story short....the manager displayed herself as extremely unprofessional, claimed she was the reason our server was great, and then asked us to leave. We never did get our food. On three different occasions I've tried to contact the owners, having been given the times when they would be in, but with no luck and a run-around of reasons. It's been a couple of years since I've been to this restaurant (cold food twice in one night being the reason) and, unless someone dear to me is having an event there, I'll not be back. The two-star rating is only because we liked our server. read more
