Living in such a wealthy area on Long Island you would think our grocery stores would be top of the line. That is farthest from the truth. I have been to better grocery stores in much lower income neighborhoods than the ones we have in the Hamptons. I particularly had enough tonight and could not keep this bottled up. I had a late night craving for the white cheddar Cheetos puffs. Every grocery store but the one in my town carries them. I don't ever eat junk food, but I had a desperate craving tonight. They have let me down. I hate that there is mostly self check out now. It is cold and soulless compared to the relationships you build with the people in front of you. Anything that you'd need for your stay in Montauk is most likely being sold at The Market: Milk, eggs, bacon, soda, chips and Bacon-Egg-Cheese on a roll, all being offered for your purchase pleasure. I grabbed a small suitcase of Montauk beer. How much!?!? Here's the thing, the Montauk brewery is right up the corner!
