I had a late night craving for the white cheddar Cheetos puffs. Every grocery store but the one in my town carries them. I don't ever eat junk food, but I had a desperate craving tonight. They have let me down. I hate that there is mostly self check out now. It is cold and soulless compared to the relationships you build with the people in front of you. My family and I miss the old staff... they were wonderful. Do better Montauk IGA. Bring back normal checkouts instead of this computer BS. Two self check outs stations were enough. If Montauk ever needed a mascot for passive-aggressive hostility, she'd be overqualified. This isn't a case of someone having a bad day -- this is a professional commitment to being a human sandpaper strip. The contrast with the rest of the staff is so stark it's almost performance art. For the sake of the store's otherwise stellar reputation, she should be moved into a role that doesn't involve live humans. Stock room. Night shift. Mars. Anywhere but the checkout lane.
