It ended up being one of the most relaxing experiences. I had a bad headache that day, and Sasa focused on my head massage, which helped a lot. I felt so much better afterward. I will definitely come back and recommend this place. They don't speak much English, but they are very open and accommodating to your needs. Their prices are on the more affordable side, so I highly recommend tipping generously if you're happy with the service. They do ask you to pay first, but I let them know I would add the tip after the service, and they were completely okay with that. I didn't feel pressured to tip in advance at all. The place is clean and neat. see the pictures for reference.

When I looked up, I saw she was on her phone, texting, and only using one hand to absentmindedly rub my head without paying attention to what she was doing. I immediately called her out, and she didn't deny it--she just told me to wait for another massage therapist. This experience made it clear that this business does not prioritize or respect its customers.

This time I specifically came cupping because I have some pain areas that is affecting my sleep. I just came back from a vacation from Asian which I felt is taking long time to recover physically. I was in major pain, work has my back out of whack and was in desperate need for someone to get everything feeling better. I gave Lucky foot Spa a call and headed right over. I knew how messed up I was so I opted for the two hour massage for $140, such a great deal for something so necessary for me. Jennifer was my masseuse and she was super strong, maybe even too strong for me and I'm a thick gym goer who has a decent pain threshold. I thought I needed work on my back, but Jennifer found that the true cuplrit of my pain was my neck and shoulders. She tried to knead her way to get the knots out of my neck and shoulders, but I will definitely need a few more visits for a real resolution. Its been two days since that massage and I am feeling so much better! I definitely need to make a bi weekly massage part of my self care routine. When im ready for my next one, ill be right here at Lucky foot spa

Very welcoming, spacious and friendly I've been twice now first time was the body massage I don't think they paid attention to the body areas that I filled out on the clipboard so the second time I got the foot massage and it's basically the same thing as paying for the body massage.. Only downfall is when it comes to giving tip. They never seem satisfied, even though I did tip a good amount.

Looking…read moreat all the 1 star reviews including this review of a customer asking for the message therapist to stop and her refusing to listen, to the point the customer had to get up and stand up naked to yell at her to leave.... I'm appalled looked at these 1 stars.... and there are plenty..... Anyways, I will speak to my experience: I went here because I heard about it here and there. Will never return. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude and gruff, the place felt dirty, and massage itself sucked, didn't seem like she knew what she was doing, there was no presence, or attention. So, I did NOT tip (and I usually always tip because its a nice thing to do, especially if you really appreicate the services etc but I was upset by my experience and a massage is supposed to relax you).. when she was done, I got dressed, and start walking towards to the exit door and the message therapist accosts me "Why didn't you tip me?! I gave you a massage!?! Why no tip!?" I just shook my head and left. I will not return. They are rude, really poor interpersonal skills and have no skills in their craft.

I gave it a 2nd chance because I was invited by a work friend for a foot massage. I thought - how…read morecan you mess up a foot massage? Right??? Well, I was so wrong! If I could give it a 0 star I would. Both experiences at KUME have been 100% terrible. I keep getting assigned unskilled massage people. They must have SOME skilled people, I assume, based on some of the reviews; however, they have just as many UNTRAINED people working there. They just seem to poke and push and punch without any skill in how to actually massage. No work on the muscles and ligaments or anything. Just an absolutely terrible experience. I mean - a nail salon could do a better foot massage. This place is too expensive to just be a "nail salon" massage. I could just go to a nail salon! Also - I noticed that there was an EXTREME difference between my massage and the ones that were happening across the room (it was a foot massage room with multiple chairs). So I could see that their massages were very different than mine. My friends seemed to have a masseuse who seemed to know what they were doing. In addition, this was supposed to be a FOOT massage, but most of the time was not even spent on the feet! Only about 10 minutes of the hour massage was on the feet. It was calf, shoulder (but only poking at me - not a real massage), etc. To make it worse, their hands were rough, so it felt like sandpaper on my skin, which was icky. Also, same as last time, the person did not speak ANY English, so I could not communicate anything (i.e. if the massage was too hard or if I needed adjustments). This experience was so bad that if I was not there with a friend, I would have gotten up and walked out. And for an $80 foot massage!! That's ridiculous. I could have gotten a pedicure for the same massage at half the price. I will definitely never come here again - even if it's with someone who wants to go (I'll wait at a coffee shop instead). They need to actually TRAIN their Massage therapists!!!! This should not be random to get a skilled person or not. And if they are student masseuses, that should be disclosed, which it is not. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of competition in the area - that seems to me to be the only explanation that they just don't do better!

Ok, here's a raw review for a DEEP TISSUE massage by a MALE massage therapist…read more I just left the this place. It's right on the outskirts of Oakland's Chinatown on a little gritty little street, but I didn't feel unsafe. The place its self is also gritty and not pretty. You need to pay up front and the rooms are bare boned with a curtain over each door for privacy. If you need spa music and mood lighting, you won't find it here, but if you're looking for a deep tissue massage that will leave you limp like a rag doll, this is the place! I specifically asked for a male massage therapist (masseur) and Ken was my massage therapist. I have extremely tight QL muscles that most massage therapists cannot or will not dig deep enough to find. It takes work digging into it. I showed Ken the sore spots and he IMMEDIATELY found it and worked on it for a good 30 minutes. It hurt, I'm not kidding, but it's the GOOD HURT you need to break up deep muscle adhesions. He used deep pressure throughout my body and found virtually every knot and adhesion. He did ask several times if the pressure was OK. He even found some on my scalp that I didn't know I had! The massage was incredible all around and I will absolutely be back for more massages!

This place is still open!…read more It may not look like it because the restaurant downstairs is boarded up, so it's a bit hard to find since it's on the 2nd floor & I think google maps shows it across the street, and the buzzer didn't seem to work, I had to call up to get in. I called for a same day late night massage on a Sunday, and they accommodated, even when I was running late. Yelp says they take credit cards, but when I got there he said cash only, so I had to go to the Chase a few blocks away. The foot & leg massage was good - the back massage half was pretty rough, but it did do the trick! I'm giving 4 stars because it did what I needed, and the price is affordable - now $40 for the 30 minutes foot & 30 minutes body. Though I'll keep trying other places in Chinatown looking for a massage that's a little smoother and also affordable. They could definitely make the space cozier, it was nice they played music & gave me a bottle of water.
