My grandson wanted tacos do we went to Monte Alban in Gates,NY. It's probably my fave Monte Alban location. My go to dish is Choripollo. The plate always comes out sizzling hot. I usually have to wait a few minutes for it to cool down. It does not disappoint. My GF is more adventurous and orders something different each time, i must admit her choices do look pretty good. This time she got enchiladas and double beans. My grandson loves their chips and salsa. Even though it's a little spicy for him. He devours it. For his meal he gets 3 tacos. They are classic Texas style tacos. You get good sized portions and everything has tasted good. It's definitely one of the better Mexican food in ROC. read more

Another wonderful and delicious meal was had tonight! Four of us got in on a Fri night right away at 5pm. They quickly filled up and the servers were all working very hard. They were efficient and still very pleasant after being so busy all at once. The food was great and everything was so fresh. The drinks were strong and not watered down. Food is good and reasonable prices; good salsa and chips along with a variety of choices

With all the Mexican restaurants nearby, it took a while for us to get here. The interior was bright and cheerful and we were quickly greeted and seated. Our server seemed a bit inexperienced, but did a good job bringing us drinks and complimentary chips and dip. We agreed on 5 stars based on the taste, quantity, and preparation of the food. I had a chicken and shrimp dish grilled with onions and the guacamole, salad and rice sides (Pancho's special). My wife had chicken & steak fajitas. Both were delicious. We arrived before 6 on a Tuesday and got quick service. The restaurant was nearly full when we left. So I'd recommend an early arrival even mid-week. read more

I've had food from here twice now, and both times everything has been fantastic. They definitely hit the spot of your craving Mexican food. My first time here was for a work happy hour. I tried a wide variety of appetizers and everyone including myself really enjoyed it. We had your typical guacamole, salsa, homemade chips, shrimp cocktail etc. but everything was soooo fresh and delicious. The second time was a catered work event and we did a taco bar with all the fixings. The shredded chicken was perfectly cooked, it included tons of toppings and we finished it all off with chocolate stuffed churros. Service was quick but not rushed, and the food was delicious. They had 16ounce margarita's on special for$5/ each. We started with the guacamole Mexican and chips with salsa were complimentary. My companion had the chicken fajita burrito which came with a salad, rice, sour cream and a side of guacamole. I had the carnitas street tacos which came with a burria sauce, rice and a taco shell filled with refried beans topped with cheese. Met some friends for dinner last night after work, parking is easy in and out, restaurant is easy to find. Hostess seated us promptly, wasn't too busy. Waitress took our drink order, then meals, fresh chips and salsa while you wait is a treat! Meals arrived quickly, almost too fast, weren't really hot, which I prefer, nonetheless, everyone enjoyed their meals. Typical tex-mex can't go wrong, waitress checked on us regularly so good service. Went to Monte Alban to meet a friend who i haven't seen in months. Our server greeted us with chips and salsa and took our drink order. She realized we needed time to catch up and didn't come to the table much. Checked in from time to time. She suggested queso or guac to go with our chips. The homemade guac was fantastic (she prepared it) we then decided on entrees which were fantastic BURRITOS DE PUERCO Two burritos filled with our juicy carnitas. Topped with queso blanco and salsa verde. Served with lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo and rice and BURRITO AZTECA A burrito filled with steak, grilled chicken, black beans, rice and shredded cheese. Lightly toasted and covered in our creamy queso blanco and salsa ranchera. Went here for lunch and was seated right away. The restaurant is so nice and decor is authentic. The booths were really comfy. The staff were so friendly and attentive. They brought us chips and salsa right away. We ordered margaritas with patron which were delicious. We got the queso fundio for an app it came out quick and was sizzling hot and tasty! We got a lunch number 5 and number 9. Both were very tasty and flavorful. Our party of four arrived at 5pm during a Buffalo Bills game. Not many customers were there. Service was prompt and friendly. Very appreciated the fact the decor was not an endless display of skeletons and skulls to honor the dead. Our dinners were brought out really quickly and all were warm. I was disappointed with my carnitas dinner because the pork chunks had zero spices on them and were not crispy. It was like they were taken out of a liquid crockpot and just put on a plate. They skipped the steps of roughly shredding the pork into chunks, spicing, then putting under a broiler or in an oven to crispen. Mesquite Grill about a mile away on Elmgrove Rd makes great carnitas and it's sad to see a Mexican restaurant skip steps because most people won't notice it. read more
