What a fun place!! So there are so many different parts of this place! The cocktail lounge itself is what you would expect from a cocktail bar - it is a nice place to have a good drink and chat with friends. Downstairs there is such a fun dive bar with a stage and karaoke! We opted for the downstairs and this place was very happening! You do need to get in early if you want to do karaoke, because there are so many people! Very fun, would highly recommend read more

I ended up here with a large group of friends earlier in the week - we had been out for quite a while and were told by someone at a previous bar this place had karaoke - unfortunately, that night, it did not. We ordered a ton of vodka sodas, a few green tea shots, and on a dare, I tried the whiskey pickle. Let me say this - unless you're dared, probably don't do it. It was fun, but there wasn't much in the way of music - definitely inexpensive though, and even though I had to hike up and down several flights of stairs to use the bathroom, it was a great spot! me and friends were having a great time at karaoke night, having drinks, singing, dancing, all around vibing. i briefly excuse myself to use the restroom and after some trouble finding it, i finally got in line. i met these two really sweet girls while we were waiting. 5 girls proceed to file out of the bathroom (it was a family restroom) and me and the two girls i just met go in to pee. like thirty seconds later, as i'm sitting on the toilet, someone starts aggressively pounding on the door. i yell out that we'll j be a minute and that we literally j stepped in there and i was peeing. i finish up and one of the other girls goes when the banging starts on the door again and i yell out that we're almost done and to calm down cause we've only been in there a minute or two. i heard no response through the door as it was a very thick door. the girl rushes to finish up and we open the door to see a bunch of male security guards crowded around the door. they start reprimanding us because apparently there was a sign on the door that said only 2 people at a time or something. i try and explain that i had j met these girls, there were far more girls that came out of the bathroom before us and apologized for not reading the sign as i had had a few drinks and didn't notice it, I also told them that I had no idea they were security when they were knocking as I heard nobody identify themselves through the door, only aggressive knocking. they said they did and it's not their problem i didn't hear them, the sign is there to prevent drug use in the restroom and i explain that we weren't doing that and offered for them to search my person for drugs to try and resolve the situation and resume my night out. they start yelling that they don't care and we all need to get out. i ask if i can get my coat from the other room and they proceed to perp walk back into the bar, shining a flashlight on my head, making sure everyone in the bar was privy to me getting kicked out (FOR USING THE BATHROOM), making it a point to humiliate me. they wouldn't even let me tell my friends what was going on, they j through a young woman in a short skirt out onto the street in the middle of the night alone. read more

We just had a crazy experience in this place. i've never seen anything like it. At 1:55 am on 6.19 a black male security person and extremely intoxicated caucasian female employee started yelling at the top of their lungs that we all had ten seconds to get out. The. bartenders were extremely embarrassed and apologized profusely even they said they had no idea what was happening. the security guard said we had to go before he put hands on me!! We never said a word and were totally respectful and peaceful. last call came and we were given a drink. hadn't even recess our check and these two idiots starting yelling. I've never seen anything like it. I spent about 400 in two nights for myself and three staff members. We will never go back. The head security guy was very respectful and also apologized saying he had no idea what was happening! We will never go back that was outright insane!!! read more

Drinks are good but pricey. We stayed in the hotel and that definitely was a mistake I couldn't sleep till 2 am because the music was so loud and people were screaming outside. Provender: great dive bar in Flagstaff. First off, Casey (?) the bartender (who was gorgeous) and Truman (?), security, were excellent. They're the type of staff that fosters a great drinking atmosphere. Prices: very reasonable, the happy hour prices are great. Parking: street, or there's a $10 lot on N. San Francisco Street. Probably best to find street parking. People: eclectic vibe, but it's a bar so obviously no kids unless you're a degenerate. Perks: the price of the drinks, and the staff. Since it's a dive bar you'll be held hostage to the crappie jukebox music selections, but if you're with good people the jukebox selections won't really matter. If you're in the downtown Flagstaff area and you're looking for a drink this is definitely a great dive bar. read more

Don't be fooled by the name as this is not a trendy spot making amazing and pricey mixed drinks. It IS the place to get cheap well vodka+whatever's. If you ever get lost in Flagstaff, you can count on two landmarks to help you find your way: The dome, and the iconic sign of Monte Vista's hotel. The first couple floors of this place house a grimy, dingy dive bar. Like, this is the quintessential dive you'd expect to get into much trouble in. Security is gruff to the point of hostility. There's a dark alley behind it. It smells as though it's in desperate need of a good cleaning. The first floor is a very narrow bar area stocked with a decent variety of mid-tier liquors. Contrary to its name, this place does NOT have a penchant for making cocktails. While generous, the only specials were for shots and craft beers, but when you can pick up something like a Mother Road IPA for $3 a pint, you'll forgive them. Between this and the extra long, 4-9pm Happy Hour, you will always be able to get hammered for super cheap. If you get the munchies, grab some quarters for the gourmet candy dispensers, which add a unique touch. The second floor has some sparse seating, pool tables, and darts overlooking a small stage and dance floor. There's a LOT of space, so I haven't seen it too crowded. People generally seem to have a good time. I suppose the appeal of this place is that it's not catering to either the club crowd or the craft beer fans. It's probably the only place not completely overrun by undergrads. It's down to earth, and it's unassuming. That's cool. It's important to remember that this is a hotel as well. That's convenient, and that's cool. On the other hand, I am accustomed to hotel bars in urban areas having a bit more...class, shall we say? I like cheap booze as much as the next guy, but I'd be pretty disappointed paying more than I would for most other hotels in the area only to come downstairs to such a mess. It's trashy, but some days I like trash. The day I've written this review is not one of those days. I'm not gonna hate on Monte Vista, but quite frankly this is just an average dive that benefits from the unique layout of a historic building. Sad to see all that potential get squandered. read more

I was excited to check out this bar since it was allegedly the best in flagstaff and claimed to have the ghosts of a dancing couple haunting it. Sadly, the bar was probably the worst I have experienced and there were no ghosts. The beer selection here is mediocre, and the service satisfactory at best. The worst part of the experience was the blatant racism that I witnessed between patrons of different ethnicities. I witnessed pool players disrespecting a pool player of a different race and not even willing to play w/ them due to the color of their skin. The clientele are NOT "Dive Bar" and the set up is definitely NOT dive bar. Comfy couches, great stools for people watching... The only reason I deducted a star was because the drinks are a little pricey. A glass of red wine is $9, and the wine isn't as good as Blendz across the street. There were less than a dozen customers but we could not get the bartenders attention. We decided to try a table, still no help. I finally approached someone wearing a black Security jacket, "oh I can serve you", we just left w/o purchasing and will definitely never return. The tall skinny tattooed kid behind the bar was so busy over serving and literally giving free samples of draft beer to college coeds he could give a flip about joe customer. Funny thing is... I had the M-F, 8-5 in the morning. And a simple review of my card statements show I do not spend like that. And a friend, who moved to New Orleans at the beginning of August, had random charges show up from Monte V last week, as well... If you're looking for a chill, fun dive-ish bar, this is the place to go. Tucked inside and by the Monte Vista hotel and by the rendezvous. I had Bar hopped around the area for a bit and this place was the most fun and had the best priced drinks. Their happy hour menu was good. $3 for a wanderlust beer. It was $5 down the street. A glass of scotch (with a nice pour) was $7. This was during happy hour which was around 5-9pm. Not entirely sure about prices after. Around 9, a fun live band came on and the place started to fill up. Before 9/930, there are 3 pool tables that are free to play. People here are pretty friendly as well . Pretty spacious area with a dance floor area carved out when the band comes on. If I had to pick a place to hang out for a night, would not hesitate to come here here. read more

There's something silly about Flagstaff bartenders. We were only in town for a night, and this was the second bar where the bartender argued with us about the ingredients in a drink. If they've got the time to stand around debating the contents of a cocktail instead of making it, their probably neglecting something else in their job description.
