Place is a joke. Get in line for a drink and when it's our turn bartender says "other people have been waiting longer than you you'll have to wait" essentially faulting us for getting in the shortest line to the bar. I would've actually waited but the lady was such a €unt that I didn't feel like spending a penny there. Maybe the small town bar can't handle a half packed bar on the 4th lmao. I was greeted immediately upon entering! Great selection of local breweries on tap. Full bar. Live music some nights. Food is available but I came in just for drinks. This place is a local bar and lots of fun! The drinks are good, they have pool tables, darts, cool bands performing Fridays and Saturdays! They even have dancing on Thursdays!!!!! If you're looking for a fun atmosphere at a chill bar and country vibes, this is the place! I will have to come back and take pictures of the food! I had chicken wings extra hot mixed with teriyaki as recommended by the bartender just asked for extra crispy and those were sooooo bomb! I also ordered the nachos! They were delish! Simple but good! If you're in Williams this place is a MUST!! We came in on 2/19/25 I think they had just opened for the day. We got to put up our signed dollar on the wall which was pretty cool. We decided on a quick drink so we asked for a michelada and a Bloody Mary. Let me tell you, these are probably our top 3 most delicious drinks we've EVER had. It's a dive bar with history. Fun. We stopped in here this week on what would have been my dads 78th birthday. He was a Bud Light drinker and we knew we would find one here so we could 'toast' to dad and tell our favorite stories about him. There are pool tables and a juke box- friendly bartender who made sure we always had a cold one. $3.50/beer. If we lived here, this would be our regular hangout spot. When traveling we like to find the uniqueness and local vibe and charm, and we hit a home run here (literally as the Diamondbacks were playing in the World Series in AZ!). Touristy note it's on Historic Route 66, and has the oldest liquor license in the state! Not much has changed in this historic bar since it's inception...well maybe the addition of televisions, and I'm glad it hasn't. The Sultana bar is a great place to sit and enjoy local brews which we did, and strike up conversations with locals. Our bartender was amazing as she expertly serviced not only a full bar but a busy dinner crowd ready to watch their beloved Dbacks in the World Series. We did not intend to stay for dinner, but the burgers drew us in! My Mountainman (sorry I devoured it so no pics) was a 1/3 pound of local beef, topped with a delicious smoky brisket, cheddar cheese, and jalapeños served on a soft pretzel bun. Gooey goodness and worth the dripping down my chin! My husband's Blue burger had ample blue cheese, candied bacon, and carmelized onions also on a pretzel bun. Hard to do but the burgers were served as requested medium. Each had an ample serving of seasoned fries that were crisp and perfectly seasoned. So glad we did not pass this up, and strolled down Route 66 in Williams! read more

My review of Sultana Bar is as a standing piece of history, and for it's owners, not for bar service. Sultana Bar is the oldest still standing establishment with a liquor license in the state of Arizona. The Sultana's theater is also where the first color motion picture was played in Arizona. Today, the theater is used as a pool hall, and event space. When we visited, a few decorations were still lingering from a recent birthday party. The spaces stand as still functioning pieces of history. The name of Sultana Bar is also significant. The name stems from a paddlewheel boat that sank on the Mississippi river in 1865. To this day, the sinking of The Sultatn is the deadliest maritime accident of all times. There were 1,168 lives claimed by the disaster. That is more than the Titanic. One of the reasons few have heard of the disaster is that President Lincoln was assassinated not long before the sinking. With the counrty still reeling from the president's death, and with how slow news traveled, the sinking of The Sultana did not make many headlines. We actually ventured into Sultana Bar because of the neighboring The Little Chicken Spot. TLCS's owner took us on a tour of the bar, and gave us the history lesson. Rick also raved about the owners of the bar. He talked about how awesome they have been as landlords. The owners had no problem with Rick giving us an impromptu tour. While we were eating at TLCS, one of the owners came by to order lunch. With so many terrible landlord stories these days, it's so refreshing to see such a strong positive relationship. read more

We felt very welcomed coming in for a drink upon arriving in Williams in the late afternoon on New Year's Eve. Bartender was very friendly and told us that we should come back later in the evening for the festivities. They had a great NYE steak dinner that they would start serving at 6pm. Sounded like a plan and we did just that, or tried to. I'd say we came back around 7:30-8pm and couldn't find a seat but noticed a side room had been opened and was decorated for NYE. Kind of looked like a private party so we asked one of the bartenders and she told us if we were there for the NYE steak dinner, we could sit in that room. The room was decorated really nicely and we noticed a canopy of balloons that were ready to be dropped at midnight. A band started playing and a few couples were dancing. We ordered a round of drinks and the server immediately told us they were out of the special steak dinners but we could order from the regular menu....basically a couple of burgers and sandwiches to choose from. Unable to get the meal we'd hoped for and finding that the atmosphere in the NYE room just wasn't us, we ended up leaving. Although our experience wasn't everything we'd hoped for, I still really like Sultana's. Everyone was super friendly and we enjoyed our interactions with the staff and patrons. Great vibe in the bar. Anyone coming in to Williams, should stop in at Sultana Bar. read more

Probably not the trendiest bar you're ever going to visit, but it's certainly the most historic and interesting. Stopped in on our trip down Route 66, following the recommendation of our guidebook, and we were not disappointed. The manager was friendly, knowledgeable, and mixed a mean bloody Mary. She let us look around at the adjoining room (used to be a theater) and filled us in on the history there. She also gave us a great recommendation for the next leg of our journey. read more

We were so happy to stumble upon this gem! It is a super cool bar. Good selection of booze to choose from and friendly servers. And they don't mind if you bring your dog inside either! They even have a doggie water bowl. A bonus - you can bring outside food in or grab something from the Chicken place connected through a hallway in the back. We actually came for lunch at the chicken spot and Rick (the owner) suggested we take the food over to the bar. He brought our to us in the bar and is super cool. This bar is over 100 years old. It has great ambience. My partner and I had a couple of cold beers. I had the local IPA and she had the local Pilsner on tap. They were cold and delicious. Been coming to Williams for 7 years now and have never been to any of their bars until last week. Our friends love this place so we thought we'd stop in for a minute. (We thought they had food!) Went across the street for a bite and came back here for a beer. Ended up playing pool with the locals for about SIX HOURS! Everybody was fantastic! We stumbled upon this bar and boy, were we pleasantly surprised! This is an awesome local bar and everything you would want in a local saloon! I saw more wild life in this bar than I did on our whole entire 1,200 mile road trip. The staff are very friendly and it is center strip in the cutest little town of Williams which is totally walkable and so fun! They had a large variety of alcohol and totally reasonable prices. Being the lover of dive bars that I am, I typically make it a point to visit a few promising looking ones where I am staying when I travel. The Sultana looked promising so I added it to my short list of places to check out in Williams. I stopped in about 10 p.m.-ish on a Thursday night. The bartender whose name I don't recall was great. No complaints here. The problem for me was the crowd. I'm not a skittish dude by any means, but my gut told me to finish what I ordered and move along, which I did.
