Having just moved from Vegas I wasn't expecting much from this little place. I was wrong. Good food and decent prices.

Very good restaurant, the jalapeño dip for the chips was excellent, the meal was very good and plentiful, reasonable prices

Our first time there last night and it was great! They were busy so had to wait a little bit for the food- but that's to be expected if you want quality food!!! My boyfriend is from Mexico and he is a chef and he LOVED the food which says a lot because we have tried so many restaurants and he said the others aren't authentic. I loved the flavor of the steak and even my 3.5 year old son loved his taco dish!! We will be going back! Very happy with our dinner decision! read more

I love this place! I have been going since it opened as a tiny 10 table hole in the wall... it has grown quite fast and they now serve liquor, which is always nice. THEY DELIVER!! Which is awesome! The food is always hot and just the way i ordered it...no matter if i eat there or have it delivered. The food is great and very authentic... I have brought many friends here and reccomend it to others in town. It is family owned and operated which makes it all that much better! First time trying this place. We ordered for delivery and they sent a quesadilla instead of the combo monterrey my husband ordered. The combo he ordered was supposed to be a chimichanga and enchilada. Much different than a quesadilla. The food was not very good. The rice and beans were bland. The quesadilla was 2 soggy tortillas with just sauce and chicken in the middle. Thank goodness for the sour cream and guacamole. The only positive were the fair prices and quick delivery, but now I know why. We love Mexican food and will not be ordering from this place again. read more

OMG this is awful food. I've lived in TX and AZ and NV. This is a horrendous rendition of Tex/Mex. I am fairly open-minded but this stuff it trash. It was delivered to my door for the $5 and I paid the driver $2 more. OMG this food is the worst! Who knew that Chili con Queso was white, like ranch dressing! And who would have guessed that a bag of tortilla chips would be 1.5 oz from a bag that you would purchase at your local convenience store (not the good chips, the basic cheapo chips.) ? There is about 5 bites of refried beans in the Chile Rellano meal and the Chile Rellano is full of ground beef. There is no cheese inside it at all. I was afraid this food was going to be so good that it would be tough to not order it again. Not tough at all. What a waste of money! Don't bother. If you know what Mexican food should be like, this food is worse than a CT version. It's everything you'd hope it wouldn't be. read more

I live around the corner from this place and I've been dragging my feet as far as getting there for some reason. Today, I finally got around to it and what a pleasant surprise. The place is newly expanded so they must be doing good business and it's easy to see why. The first I thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean it was. The second thing was that my party and I were the only "gringos" in the place which I take as a good sign. If you go to an ethnic restaurant and see that people of that ethnicity are dining there that usually means that you are in the right place. This was no exception. They have a full bar including a large selection of Mexican beers which I love. The food did not disappoint either. I had a Tamale which was excellent. The chicken had a delicious smokey flavor and the corn surrounding it was moist and delicious. The Tamal (the proper Mexican term) was covered half in enchilada sauce and half in tomatillo sauce along with some melted cheese. Fresh tasting and delicious. I also ordered a combination that included a chicken enchilada suiza (with tomatillo sauce) and a nice piece of carne asada steak covered in a tasty garlic sauce. The enchilada was top notch, filled with more of that great smokey flavor filled chicken and topped with cheese. The steak was tender, flavorful and cooked to order. Very tasty. The rest of my party enjoyed a spicy shrimp dish (camarones ala diabla), some beef enchiladas and some chicken enchiladas roja (with enchilada sauce instead of tomatillo sauce) suffice to say that we all joined the clean plate club. Aside from the full bar and Mexican beers they also have some Mexican sodas (Jarritos) as well as coke products and Snapple for the less adventurous. The menu is fairly extensive and there are several items that I'd like to try so a return trip is necessary. Lucky for me they are so close. The service was friendly and attentive and the check came to around $65 for four people, three of whom had a beer. That's not bad for 4 entrees and the Tamal appetizer. read more

Found this place on Yelp. Been looking for a good Mexican place that was relatively close to Southington. The wait is over!! This place rocks! Great drink specials! 2.50 beer until 7 on weekdays. My wife said the margaritia was great. She said it was made with real lime juice instead of a mix and it had plenty of kick. Chips were ok but the salsa was fantastic. The green mole sauce had a lot of spice. I got the enchilado combo which was delicious. The beans and rice were perfectly seasoned. My wife got a burrito and couldn't eat the whole thing. My son ate two tacos and a basket of chips with two bowls of salsa. My daughter got the cheese quesadilla and said it was good. The only knock on the place was the speed the food was prepared. The table service was awesome. I was greeted, seated and had a beer in couple of minutes. It took 20 min for our order to come out. However, it was piping hot when it got there. They kept the chips and salsa flowing while we waited. We'll definitely be going back! read more

Only one highchair is unacceptable for a restaurant. When we got there a family was waiting for more people in there party and basically holding the highchair so we were struggling with or 10 month old son.. the server laughed and said they dint get many kids... my husband wanted to leave right away but I really wanted to try the food because I had heard such good things.. Finally I gave in drove home got a portable highchair we had there and then came back. By the time I got back it was 7:02 I ordered a drink and was charged full price (not the happy hour rate) because it was 2 minutes after 7! Normally this wouldn't bother me but I HAD TO GO HOME TO GET A HIGHCHAIR in order to eat there and THEY STILL DIDNT GIVE ME A HAPPY HOUR RATE !! CRAZY!! The green hot sauce with the chips were great. But that's it the rest of the food was gross my husband got tamales they didn't come in a corn husk it tasted like bad bad corn cake with little meat inside I got the burrito and it was very soggy and just plain bad .. we both couldn't even eat our food and we LOVE Mexican food.. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I will now tell everyone not to waste their time or money going there. read more

This is a homestyle restaurant owned and operated by a family proud to share their hertige and food. Happ y hour is great, traditional mrgaritas with fresh juice and top shelf tequila and generous and tasty food. Ranging from the familiar of burritos and tacos to shrimp burritos (try with green sauce) and chili rellenos that are top notch and delicious! Be kind and patient with the servers as they are ESL although very accomodating and service is speedy. Try the grilled chcken with lime juice marinade! We go often and even have a favorite table! Sorry that some others have not had a good experience, but I hope these were exceptions as it would be nice for a locally owned place to stay in business and learn from any mistakes. We had 4 meals delivered, hoping for some decent semi-authentic Mexican fare. The food arrived 30 minutes late, and cold. The portions were much smaller than expected, and the food was average at best. Perhaps the eat-in experience is better, but we would have honestly been better off going to Taco Bell, which is a sad thing. read more

Visited this establishment for Cinco De Mayo, yesterday. We chose somewhere new based on all the wonderful reviews, well, we are not really sure where these people ate !!! The service was nice, but the food was tasteless. WE started with the something Lindos, oversized portions but no taste. I didn't say anything to my husband until I got my taco dinner and he got his fajitas. I said to him, I am sorry but my food taste like NOTHING. There was no salt, no spice, no taste. Usually mexican food has spice to it and way too much salt, this had NO taste at all. His fajitas were chix, beef, shrimp the sauce it was in was flavorless. Very expensive and Very disappointed and will not return. Had I seen the hostess who was eating her McDonald's prior to us ordering our food, we would have left !!!!!! No taste whatsoever, obviously she had eaten there before. :-( read more
