Food was quick and tasty- my daughter was very happy with her nacho fries (with ground beef) and churros and I tried the carne asada tacos . It also came with free chips and salsa . Our order was to go. Cashier was friendly and helpful. It's a smaller place but enough seating to grab a quick bite. Very similar menu to others in Meriden except a few things, molcajete does not have alcohol and does not have carnitas/al pastor. But Molcajete's tortillas are charred which was a nice surprise! Since I live on the East side I'm very happy with this new addition. They even have chicken nuggets so I can appease my toddlers. And their fries are the thin cut ones so again my toddlers will actually eat them (unlike the competing places that do the bigger fries they won't eat) so I will definitely be back to try more. The birria pizza is intriguing and will probably be my next try. Now just hope they get their liquor license so we can grab a margarita as well

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday at this small family-owned and operated business and were warmly greeted by our server on entering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a pair of tables on the outside patio and the temperature hovered around 75 degrees, but we opted to occupy one of the inside booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server soon brought us menus, took our drink order and provided us with tortilla chips and a pair of salsas, most notably a delicious salsa verde. A variety of street tacos are offered though our favorite, al pastor/adobada, is not included. Not a problem as we each soon settled on one each carne asada and pollo asado. Though authentic, we found each to be a bit dry though that problem was quickly offset with liberal doses of their delicious salsas. A return visit should be expected.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small place in a strip mall with limited seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But they have excellent authentic and delicious Mexican food. Highly recommended for a quick lunch.

Happy to have a Mexican place with plant-based options in Meriden. I tried the burrito with Tofu and nachos with TVP. So Delicious!

Excellent Mexican fast food prepared fresh. Try the aguas frescas instead of a soda pop.

Every once in a while you find a restaurant that reminds you why people get excited about food, and…read morethis is one of those places. From the moment we walked in, the place was spotless, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. The meal started with warm, crispy chips and fresh salsa that had just the right amount of kick. Then came the horchata, and honestly, it might be the best I've had anywhere. Smooth, refreshing, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet. For the main event, we ordered a variety of tacos including the al pastor, chorizo, and lengua. Each one brought something different to the table, but all of them shared the same thing: incredible flavor and quality ingredients. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and served on tortillas that tasted fresh and authentic. What really surprised me was the cemita. If you've never had one before, this is the place to try it. The bread was soft on the inside with the perfect texture on the outside, loaded with fresh ingredients and flavor in every bite. It was one of those menu items that immediately makes you start planning what you'll order on your next visit. And then there was dessert. The custard-filled churros with cinnamon sugar paired with chocolate ice cream were phenomenal. Warm, sweet, crunchy, creamy--everything you want in a dessert and then some. What stands out most about Hashtag Tacos isn't just the food. It's the consistency, attention to detail, cleanliness, and hospitality. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in what they do, and it shows in every part of the experience. There are plenty of places that serve tacos. Hashtag Tacos serves food that makes you want to bring your friends back so they can experience it too. This isn't a five-star review because everything was perfect. It's a five-star review because Hashtag Tacos sets the standard for what a local restaurant should be.

The owners are so friendly and very helpful if you have menu questions. They prepare the food very quick too. The restaurant is small, but they have a handful of tables and booths if you want to eat in. Most of the items are sold separately ($3-6 each) so you can try a few things. They have tacos (obviously), burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, speciality dishes and they started serving breakfast. Our favorite is the Shrimp Taco. On our last visit we got four! Perfectly fried, crispy shrimp topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado slice and served with lime. We also tried the Chicken Taco, Chicken Tostada, and Carne Asada Tostada. We don't live too far from Hashtag Tacos so our food was still warm. Everything was good and super fresh. They are generous with their taco toppings and filling. The tortillas are homemade and fluffy. The avocados were perfectly ripe. I like their verde salsa the best, but they have a unique, bright orange salsa that has a little kick. We hope to dine in at Hashtag Tacos very soon--if we think takeout is great, the food served hot and fresh at the restaurant has to be even better.
