If you are given an appointment and a time frame, then you expect this company to keep the appointment. Instead they never came: I had to take a day off from work to have no one show up: I was back and forth with their customer agents and they kept leading me on and making me think their techs were coming. Then, they finally admitted that they were overbooked for that day and was there a better day for re-scheduling? Yeah...the better day was the day I took off to wait for them to come. So unprofessional...I felt disrespected. The only thing good that came out of this was finding another company that actually had someone show up when they said they would. And after reading their other reviews on Yelp, I realized so many others had the same issue with this company not showing up for scheduled appointments. The first heavy storm after our roof replacement happened sooner than I would have preferred, but…read moreit ended up being a good test. The new roof handled it without any water entering the building. Before replacement, the surface had blisters, cracked seams, and several areas that held water. We reviewed repair and replacement options, and the condition of the insulation made replacement the more sensible choice. The old layers were removed down to the wood deck. Most of the wood was sound, although several boards near the front parapet needed to be replaced. A self-adhered modified-bitumen system was installed over new insulation and a cover board. The chimney flashing, plumbing vents, and roof hatch were all completed individually. Additional taper was used near the rear drain to improve water flow. The Royal Renovators Inc. crew protected the front planting area and used the rear access for debris. We found a few scraps of membrane near the neighboring fence after completion, but they returned and picked them up the next morning. The final documents included photos, material information, and the written warranty. Months later, the roof is still draining well and the interior stains have not returned.

Since the building is both commercial and residiential, one of the biggest concerns was minimizing disruption to tenants, and of course keeping everything on budget and organized. From the start, Royal Renovators seemed to understand these concerns and put together a plan that worked around the building's daily operations. The existing roof was removed, damaged areas were addressed/fized, and a new roofing system was installed along with snazzy updated flashing and drainage improvements. Communication throughout the project was - chefs kiss - and we always knew what stage things were in. As expected, there were additional conditions unconvered that needed to be addressed. But, these guys were transparent about it, laid out the options like they did before, and it didnt turn into pressure or surprises. What stood out was how transparent they were when additional conditions were uncovered. Every decision was discussed beforehand and documented with photos. In the end, the new roof was completed on time, and is performing exactly as expected.

The gutter debris is mostly pulled out by hand much more easily than I could imagine myself doing, resting ladders at proper points as the vinal siding is new and definately not structured to support pressure. Using a blower to extract what remains the workers always ask permission to enter our neighbors yards where some sticks, leaves and tennis balls had fallen to. Running up and down the driveways moving equipment cleaning every single stray item on the properties is why I call on Abraham to clean my gutters and leaders as well as apply some mid year preventative maintenance.

We were storing all of our wedding gifts and many other items in the attic during this work, and the workers should have easily seen that it was being trashed. They had one guy come and shop vac a littl out, but the damage was done. I asked for a more thorough cleaning, and have yet to get it. I was forced to bring everything down to clean myself, but the debris that is spread throughout the attic will most likely just stay there forever.
