A synopsis of our horrible experience follows: The owner, Larry, arrived at our home WITHOUT A MASK to discuss our landscaping job and did not social distance either. Larry took a large deposit, refused to sign his own contract afterward (claimed that "wasn't necessary"), never answered our messages and emails about desired plantings/start date over the next several weeks. When we politely tried to firm things up numerous times, rude nasty secretary Susan always said "I can't help you I can only leave messages for Larry and he's very busy"; of course Larry NEVER deigned to reply. Since Larry was nonresponsive we tried contacting his son Matt (also an owner/manager) but he didn't reply either. After weeks of being given the runaround and with fall planting season coming to an end, we finally asked for our deposit back since they didn't do anything. No refund as of now. Huge Ripoff! He put in beautiful dry-beds and rock gardens at areas that used to get flooded. He convinced me to put in a underground dry-well to keep my yard from flooding, and more important to keep my basement from flooding. It works great and no longer have to worry about flooding in my yard and basement ( well worth the cost which was reasonable ), im so happy to have this !! It took Patrick ( and his team ) all summer to finish my yard. This is fine with me as I told him to 'take his time ". It worked well as he got to know my property and really design it beautifully. The yard is absolutely stunning and every single person that has seen it was impressed. I LOVE what it looks like. I pretty much let Patrick make all the decisions and let him do "his thing " as he's the one with the experience. It was fun coming home from work and seeing new rock, bush and tree surprises popping up as he craftily tweaked the property to look it's best. Patrick is a genuinely nice fellow and works very hard. Was not cheap, however it is easily the nicest yard on the block and maybe the neighborhood ( unless someone spent a whole lot more money ). You get what you pay for.

RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Landscaping sketches should accurately reflect the size of the plants/trees…read morethat will be planted, 2) If there are issues with the work after completion and the payment has already been made, Mr. Daniele should address the issues in a timely fashion, not three seasons later, 3) Making the customer happy should always be a priority. I did my research on about three to four different landscape designers and while Mr. Daniele was one of the more expensive ones, I decided to go with him because his reviews were good and he provided a sketch of the end product and we were very pleased with the plan. The beginning of the process was smooth. Mr. Daniele was responsive and seemed knowledgeable and experienced with landscaping. The concerns started to come about the day he arrived with the plants. Some of the plants were not in the best condition, but he assured us they would bloom again before the end of the season, in which they did. But, also it was evident he was attempting to make the most profit by purchasing smaller plants (or much younger) than what was shown in the sketch. After completing his work, I noticed one of the trees was not planted straight, another tree planted is not the one that was listed in the contract, and 10 of the plants are either dying or dead. The job cost $3,400 so I expected to be completely satisfied. I reached out to Mr. Daniel and he mentioned the plants were dying due to lack of water. This is false as one of the dying plants is a few inches away from a sprinkler and all sprinkler heads were adjusted to provide adequate water for the plants. He then said he would replace the plants, but I would have to wait until spring of 2020 (as per a policy that was not noted in the contract). I do not believe it is fair to pay a few thousands of dollars for a landscaping project and have to wait almost a year for it to be properly completed. Also, Mr. Daniele would not mention anything about the slanted tree or the tree that was quoted in the contract but not delivered. I am guessing we would have to wait until the spring for those as well. Overall, I am dissatisfied with the outcome of the project and regret not going with another company.
