October 2024 Dinner on a Thursday, maybe 3-4 other occupied tables, almost as many visible employees as there customers. All 3 of our dinners we cold or cold and way past serving condition. I had never had a bone dry and hard tamale before. The wait staff were standing by the kitchen door watching us eat. I'm handicapped with a walker. There had only been 3 or 4 employees watching us until it was time for the handicapped woman to get up. When I looked up just as I was standing there were double the amount of employees watching us. It was rude and extremely unprofessional!! We are now hunting for a new favorite Mexican restaurant!! Our plates half empty and no to-go boxes may have given them a clue but I doubt it. read more

Road life!!! So I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant after delivering a load. To order, I had veggie enchiladas, Margarita (no, I was not driving) & churros without the ice cream. Hubby had veggie fajitas. Everything was very delicious and fresh to order. Our service was great as well. Our waiter was very attentive and accommodated our small requests it was greatly appreciated. Ambiance was cool latin tunes in the background , definitely friend and family oriented. I've had nothing but wonderful food and pleasant experiences here. I have never been disappointed by my meal and the servers are consistently top notch. Their queso is like liquid gold to me. The salsa is pretty standard but mixed with queso is the perfect combo. I recently gave up meat so I tried their shrimp burrito and was not disappointed. Before that I thoroughly enjoyed their California burrito with chorizo and chicken, yum. Came here for lunch yesterday because I was craving some Mexican food. Nice decent sized restaurant with colorful pictures posted. Our waitress was great and helped us pick out some favorites. Once I saw the menu knew I wanted to try the pork carnitas and I'm glad I did. Carnitas- Nice size pieces of pork fried with Spanish rice and beans. Also comes with pico de gallo and some other sauce that I wasn't a fan of and some flour tortillas. The pork was cooked well and the seasoning of the pork was fabulous! Very tender and juicy and the rice was good as well. The pico de gallo matched perfectly with the pork and had a little kick due to the jalapeños that was inside the sauce. Overall it was a great dish with tons of food and the best part was it was less then $9.00 I was soooo surprised when I got the bill that I had to ask if this was a typo lol. Came here to try out their dishes, will never return again, one bad experience is all I need to convince me that this place sold me a spoiled meat, I ordered a taco salad, simple you would think? But when I receive my order the ground beef tasted weird and smelled fowl. When I brought up the issue with the waiter, he said it's beef and it's fine. I've eaten enough ground beef in my life, to know when something smells bad. They tried to pass it off, as seasoning. Yeah right! it was spoiled and tasted sour. We have always had excellent service and food here and also at the other location. This location is a little smaller but I actually like it better. The staff is super friendly. The chips always come out nice and warm with plenty of salsa. Our orders have always been correct and come out hot. The food always has great flavor. If you order something and you don't like it, they work with you to get it right or something you will like. The place is always very clean. My wife and I took a nice ride on the motorcycle and found ourselves here for lunch. The place was empty aside from an elderly couple in the corner. Nice atmosphere and decor, not over the top like a lot of other Mexican restaurants I've eaten at. The waitress was quick to greet and seat us in a booth and brought out the chips and salsa while we took a gander at the menu. Once again it has been proven that I can walk into any Mex restaurant, not look at the menu at all, say "Fajitas Texanas" and I'll enjoy my meal. My wife ordered the Montezuma salad. Went here after a 2hr drive from the Washington DC area to meet up with family who were visiting nearby. This restaurant was selected because of the positive reviews from Yelp and I'd like to add to them. The restaurant interior is simple but relaxing and welcoming. The staff was friendly. The menu options were broad. The food we chose were all delicious! No frills. Nothing fancy but they have reliably well seasoned and well cooked food! We all finished our plates and left with full satisfied stomachs. The best part was that the items were all very reasonably priced. It's too far away for me to come back for a random meal out but if I am ever in the area again, I will for sure come back! I can see why it's gotten good reviews. read more

My family loves Montezuma's. They have amazing Fajita Burrito's and Queso Fundido. We visit at least once a month!

There are actually two locations for Montezuma's, and which location you choose has a pretty big impact on your experience. The Wayne Ave. location has better food, but it is always very busy so the service is slower. The Lincoln Way location has much faster service (because it's not as big or busy), but the quality of food is not as good. Both locations have charming wait staff and lots of smiles, but I'm partial to the manager at the Lincoln Way location. He's just a step above: suave, interesting, charming, and great with his staff. Sooo, I had high hopes for this place. I hit the bathroom as soon as I arrived and it had ants crawling around. Sigh. Ok. So I go to my table and sit down which takes a waiter about 6 mins to come over. People who sat after me were attended and served before me. I ordered an appetizer it never came so when he brought my food 30 minutest later and said I no longer needed it he was shocked. It was edible...but it won't be a repeat for me. read more

Meh? It was mediocre and salty food. Either their line cooks have been rippin too many butts or its intentionally salted to get you to drink more. It was a quick and convenient stop on a long road trip. I recommend stopping at CVS next door afterwards for TUMS and a liter of water. The staff was nice and prompt.
