I have been buying cars from MAG for 20 years, and I have never had any complaints. First, you need to understand how Mike Delongchamp and MAG save you so much money: you are buying wholesale, not retail. You are bidding directly against the dealers, because this is where many - if not most - dealers get their used car inventory: auctions of cars coming off lease.
These are the perfect cars to buy for anyone with brains: (1) They are only 2-3 years old, so the steep devaluation period is over. (2) They have low mileage because idiots who lease cars are not allowed to drive over a limited number of miles without incurring financial penalties. (3) They are still under warranty! (4) They are in excellent condition because manufacturers now throw in free tune-ups for leased cars because they make so much off of leasing and then selling the cars. (5) You could literally turn around and sell the car for more than you just paid for it! There are people who do that, but believe me, it's still annoying to have people come to your house to test drive, so I only tried it once. I didn't lose money, just time and patience. :-)
I have bought 5 cars from Mike, and all were great deals. Most of the Alabama Supreme Court judges bought their cars from Mike when I worked there, my boss has bought half a dozen cars from Mike, and half my wife's law firm bought their cars from Mike. These are smart people who could and would definitely sue if they didn't like what they got. They loved what they got.
So I don't understand the two reviewers who had complaints, but hey, can't make everyone happy. If you're smart, this is how to buy a great car at a big discount. He'll even sell your old car for free if you don't want the hassle, because there are always airmen/women new to Maxwell AFB who need a car for their term of service there. So not only are you getting a great deal, you're helping out a family that's serving our country. read more
