How the business used to be…read morecalled Grossman's when they started coming by for supplies, then Contractor's Warehouse with its old school orange and black logo, and finally for a period of time referred to as HD Supply. Well now it's the CW again, and from the looks of it not much has changed. Still the same long walks down the hallways in relative quiet, unless you are rolling the panel truck like I was. Friendly customer service through the phone when I asked about availability/quantity of corrugated roofing panels. Then at the store the staff would help find the appropriate wood screws. Whereas in the past I remembered older folks staffing the store, now it's mostly younger guys and gals though knowledgeable all the same. Can't put my finger on it, but it does feels different from a Home Depot but in a good way.

Very few employees speak Spanish, which makes communication difficult for many customers. It is important to have staff who can assist customers in both English and Spanish. In addition, getting help from an employee takes an extremely long time. During my visit, I asked a cashier to hold an item for me while I continued shopping and planned to purchase it. Later, I discovered that the item had been sold to someone else. I found this very frustrating and unprofessional. What was even more disappointing was that the manager did not seem concerned about resolving the situation or addressing my complaint. I do not enjoy shopping here because of the poor customer service. Many of my construction employees and coworkers have shared similar experiences and have told me they avoid this store because of the service. Management and ownership should understand that customer service is just as important as pricing. If customers do not feel valued and respected, they will choose to spend their money elsewhere.

Measuring cubic yards is not the easiest thing to do (at least for me), so I was a little concerned I might have ordered too much. The staff explained we could pickup the material in phases, and anything we did not need would be refunded to our credit card on file. They have literally everything contractors could possibly need from sand, P gravel, stone, rocks, brick, decorative concrete pavers, large landscape boulders, mortar, everything. I didn't need much, as my planter is only about 7' by 2' max, and I was afraid that maybe they didn't do small sales - but they did and I was able to fill 2 5 gal buckets when what I needed :) I was able to find small/ medium white rocks and also brown lava rocks. The Only thing they don't have is small black lava rock but they do have that in a medium size :) The younger guy that works there also offered to help me get my stone together.
