What a gem this bowling alley is. The aesthetics and how retro it is will charm you. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. We will be back many more times.

Located on Honolulu Ave. in Montrose (the town that time forgot) Montrose Bowl is a really sweet little alley with only 8 lanes. It's been restored to a classic Fifties look and has a nice intimate feel. I was a little surprised that they don't have electronic score-keeping (see picture) so you have to do it the old-fashioned way with pencil and paper (if you care about who's winning). We didn't and had a great time anyway. I was there for a private party which is their main focus. And although I didn't have anything from the snack bar, Never Caged, others who did said the food was good. It does have the distinction of being the only vegan cafe in any bowling alley!

THIS PLACE WAS SO FREAKIN CUTE!!!! I stumbled upon it and have been thinking about it ever since. It is free to bowl for however long you want and the balls and shoes are already next to the lanes. There is a small bar and menu to choose from as well. The music is also poppin. I would highly recommend!!!

You really do feel the opulence as you drive through the mirador entrance up this long driveway to get to the library. Free parking but it does get packed since many people also park here to access the hiking trails next to the library. This is a beautiful library and many people do come here to study as I noticed most tables were filled. However, there is a loud buzzing sound from the lights but I guess it becomes background white noise if you are used to it. Portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Brand, their family and how the library was are on the library walls so you can learn more about how it all started. The art gallery this time around has an exhibit from Thinkspace, featuring artwork of over 70 artists, on now until March 29, 2025. I really enjoyed the art pieces and took photos of the ones that really impressed me. The grounds features Brand Park, the Japanese tea house (closes early like 3pm), Doctor's House, which is a historical house, and a couple of hiking trails. Overall, a cool place to check out and just 15 minutes away north from downtown Glendale if you need to grab a bite to eat.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

The ENTIRE country club is so beautiful, from the Oak Grove and Cypress Trees to the staircases. The packages were clear and informative, and they were always willing to accommodate our needs. When Cassidy took over for the rehearsal and day-of coordination, she was absolutely amazing. She was extremely responsive via email, attentive to every detail, and even addressed things we didn't think to ask about. This was my first time here as well as the aforementioned pizza place, so I was pleasantly surprised what I came upon in this nestled neighborhood street just off downtown Glendale. This review was specifically for "The Lounge At Glen Arden Club" location as apparently the name encompassed several locales. As a whole, The Glen Arden Club had a rich history in Glendale that dated back to 1930. It has recently been revived as an exclusive social club serving a diverse cross-section of the community. Its features included a grandiose bar, historic ballroom, a sitting room and lounge, private cigar locker and lounge, as well as a VIP room, and of course this casual outdoor lounge. Having grown up in the community, I was not aware of this club whatsoever, so I was excited to learn about it. Would I ardently explore this club in Glendale any further after this first experience!? PURCHASE Allagash Brewing Co. Allagash White Wheat Beer 12floz Bottle Poured ($9.00): Lemony yellow color, floral wheaty aroma, low body, bready sweet flavor, crisp smooth finish, and a light bready sweet aftertaste. One of my favorite beers! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=N-HJaAthGBTYK6K8vC_UTQ SERVICE An affable young gentleman behind the bar warmly greeted me as I checked out their alcohol beverage offerings. Once I placed my order, he opened the beer bottle, poured it into a chilled glass, and off I went to an empty table as I waited for my takeout dinner order. All was easy-peasy, especially since I was the only customer at the time (a group shortly arrived after I got my drink). PARKING (FREE) Strictly only street parking along the main drag of Arden Ave. and all surrounding residential side streets, so please make sure to read all posted signs carefully - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A casual simple outdoor patio area with several chairs/tables under the cover of both roofing and umbrellas with a focal bar area https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=Nps3ZRbNBrml56Yj38HV2g for only placing drink orders (sadly, no beer taps). Plenty of natural lighting since you were outdoors while an assortment of hung electric lights filled in the rest. I didn't recall any TVs although it would be a great space to have some while I believed Top-40 music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=XDmcJeyKowREyE8PdIQV0w ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL The Glen Arden Club - specifically The Lounge At Glen Arden Club - was fine but nothing special. I saw it as a nice place for some outdoor drinking and such during the hot summer nights, but other than that, it was a place for a quick drink while I waited for my food to be done. However, I was intrigued by the actual social club and would like to check that out but not have to pay to join it. I was a bit disappointed by the minimal drink options https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=1nmgcEuAPHDkO-u35_8o8g but I understood probably why that was since I felt this wasn't necessarily meant to be a standalone bar/lounge. The prices were higher than expected for what you got while the service was easy, quick, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $10.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
