During the recent snow storm my car stopped and I had to get my car towed. My insurance company roadside service contacted Montrose Towing and I was told it would be a 75 minute wait time. 15 minutes later, Luis from Montrose called me and said he had arrived! My car was inside a parking garage qnd the entrance was only 8 feet high clearance, too low for the tow truck. So Luis surveyed the situation and decided to push the car out from the garage - a significant distance. Once outside he quickly and efficiently set up the tow, headed to the tow destination, and quickly efficiently set down the car. Was recommended to use them by the bodyshop I was using. I prescheduled a pick-up 24 hours in advance, they were still late to pick the car up. They were 3 hours late to drop the car off. When the car did arrive the price was higher than what I was quoted on the phone and the driver didn't drop the car at the correct address, I had to go down the street and find him. Luis arrived 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, he got busy the moment he arrived at the location. With a few minutes of work, he was able to pull my car out of the mud. Just watched one of their drivers tailgate a car all the way down the Silver Spring - Langley exit lane on the Beltway, speed into a red light, then rush to switch to the center lane just to pass another car at the same place where the right lane was obstructed with construction and a merge left sign. The car trying to avoid the construction was almost hit and had to veer out of the way, then sharply back center to narrowly avoid hitting cones and the light sign. A-hole driver welding a massive vehicle like it was a Ferrari. No thanks. read more

I was stranded in the parking lot at Glenmont metro. The driver arrived far sooner than expected and was a total pro. He was very courteous and helped me get the car onto the tow truck, and called to tell me once it was dropped off at the dealership. Im used to having bad experiences with tow companies but I will insist that Geico send this company specifically. As I stated on another review, it's never pleasant when you need to call a towing service, but I was very pleased in every aspect with the assistance I received this evening from Montrose Towing Service. They informed me when they would arrive and promised to call 15 minutes in advance. They called almost exactly 15 minutes before they arrived which was slightly earlier than originally expected. The driver quickly and safely prepped the car and had it hitched up in no time. He took care to insure there was no damage to the car during this whole process. He towed the car to it's destination taking main roads at safe speeds to limit possible damage to the car without additional mileage fees. All in all a welcome experience after the disappointment of having to call a towing service. I would highly recommend Montrose Towing Service to anyone in need. read more

Extremely disappointed. To start, I would like to state that my parents are deaf, so I was making phone calls for them while commuting home from work. My parent's car wasn't starting so we called Geico and they dispatched Montrose Towing. Montrose sent a general text saying they have left at 5:34pm and will arrive within 60 mins (1 hour), but at 6:50pm, my parents never saw them nor knew where they were at. So, I called Montrose Towing, and they said a guy arrived around 6:30pm and called my mom's phone but no one respond, and they "tried" to find my parent's car but could not find them. They also told me that we will need to call Geico again if we want them to be dispatched again to pick up my parents' car. Two things: (1) Geico has and always clearly stated to them to text my parents, not call, due to the fact that they are deaf and that note has always been on file and is always informed, and (2) if my mom's car wasn't starting, clearly, they can't move the car. We gave them the exact address and my parents said they're the only red car there, so it does not make sense how they cannot find them and they just left. When I called Geico, they were surprised as well because apparently Montrose Towing told Geico they finished the job when they clearly did not!!! So Geico will be filing a complaint against this company as well. We got another towing company to help us, and they actually did their job, unlike Montrose Towing here. read more

Gustavo was assigned to tow my car through Geico. I called them to make sure they would send a flatbed and Amanda was courteous and made adjustment for a flatbed to come. Gustavo called before the arrival time to let me know he was on the way, which was a nice touch. Gustavo was professional and made sure he took good care of your car by taking photos and made sure your car would not scratch when going up the ramp. Needed a towing service as two of my tires blew up today, one front and other back. The guy who came in did a good job. Cost was $75 for hookup and about $20 to drive a few miles to a tire dealer. The only issue was I didn't like the 60 minute wait time even thought I was told it will take 60 mins. read more

My car starting stalling out in the middle of the road and then later had trouble starting. Called a few companies and finally decided to go with these guys who could get to me in Bethesda relatively quickly. The dispatcher was friendly and helpful and the tow driver they sent, Sam, was extremely helpful and professional. Took approx 20-30 minutes for the tow truck to arrive (close to the amount of time I was quoted). Overall very good experience and easy doing business with this company. I would definitely recommend. FYI - the hookup charge is $75. I think the mileage charge came out to $4.50/mi. read more

My car broke down in Aspen Hill on MLK Day -- extremely cold! Geico's contact was Montrose. The driver was delayed 40 minutes, but arrived courteous, businesslike and focused. He listened to the car, shared what he thought was the problem, then secured my car to the truck. Fastest ever. Because of COVID, I couldn't ride with the driver. My sister picked me up. We reached the mechanic shop (open on the holiday!) and started paperwork a few minutes before the truck arrived. The driver quickly released the car, left the key with the mechanic and was gone. I couldn't thank him personally, but appreciated his service (and he was on point about the problem--fuel pump). read more

In April 2019 (sorry this review is a bit late!), we were in a Home Depot parking lot when suddenly the car did not want to start. We called Montrose Towing, feeling bad that they would have to tow our car in such an awkward, tight-fitting space as a packed parking lot. Nevertheless, they arrived in less than 20 minutes and the driver of the huge tow truck was maneuvering like a pro through the parked cars. He got out of his truck and instead of immediately towing, decided to check the battery--sure enough, the wiring somehow became loose, so he tightened it and we were good to go! We paid the driver (I think it was $80?) and were merrily on our way without any problems since. We will use Montrose Towing if we ever have any future towing needs in the Rockville area! This is my 1st time dealing with Montrose Towing. Recently, I was involved in an auto accident and my vehicle was towed and stored at Montrose lot facility in Beltsville. First of, the customer service representative was pleasant when I had called the 1st time. I planned on recovering some of the items left in my vehicle. She had dispatched someone to meet me at the lot and was told would take an hour. So I said okay, I'm at the lot and I'll wait for them. 1 hr passed, no one from Montrose. Called again to ensure that someone was coming out and the rep then told me, 30 more minutes. Okay I'll wait since I've already waited an hour. waited and another hour has passed, no sign of Montrose employee. Called again and got the same female representative and seemed irritated cause I wanted an ETA. She then proceeded to abruptly end our call. Customer service may need some more training on handling customers and give an ideal ETA not just pull times out of thin air just to satisfy a question. I do understand the traffic can be a factor but when I called the 1st time, I know from experience driving the beltway that it wasn't the high volume times so not sure how they weren't able to make it in an hour. It is now 1629, and what do you know no Montrose employee to help me at the lot. Ill wait since I don't want to waste another day dealing with Montrose and its customer service. My engine was pouring out smoke, so I pulled into a nearby neighborhood. I contacted GEICO who connected me with Montrose Towing of Rockville, MD. I was so nervous, but Montrose Towing came quicker than the estimated 45 minutes and Benjamin, the tow truck driver was fantastic. He quickly hooked up my car, and we rode to my service station. Benjamin was so kind, explaining the process to me and making small talk about books, that I relaxed. What could have been a truly terrible experience was made easier by excellent service and kind conversation. I would not hesitate to use Montrose Towing again. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! My car would not start and I waited 4 hours for someone to come! When he came he refused service saying his truck wouldn't fit in my driveway when it clearly was going to fit. I have had huge construction truck in my driveway. This driver treated me like I was a dog, screamed at me and didn't even try- refused service. He was rude , unprofessional. I locked my keys in my car, called Geico and they sent these guys. I can't remember the name of the young man who helped me but he was quick, effective and really nice. My car had a rollaway accident, moving backwards down the driveway and into a tree. Montrose came quickly, after dark and in the rain, to pull the car out of the mud. The Montrose truck was too big for the driveway, but after a few tries, he worked out the correct angles from the street to pull it safely to solid ground. The insurance company used the same firm to pick up the car to take it to the collision center. I used them again to return the car from the repair shop. (The car was repaired but I was concerned about whatever caused the rollaway.) Every encounter was easy, extremely fast, and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this firm. read more

They charged me $150 and told me I was lucky they didnt tow it to there lot. They took info from my drivers license for no reason. The police came and confirmed they we scam artist. 17 year old daughter had a dead car in a parking garage - we tried giving it a jump and nothing happened except speedometer went haywire.... callled Geico roadside assistance thinking we needed a tow to the shop - they sent Montrose Towing. Had an estimate of 60 minutes. 15 minutes later we got a call from Montrose driver with an estimate of 20 minutes - I could tell the guy on the phone had a smile on his face. Exactly 20 minutes later Jose, still with a smile, was outside the garage...in a tight road in downtown Rockville...he whipped his big flat bed into a parking spot along the road and went to see the car up the garage ramp with an 8"x4" zippered pouch and as it became apparent he was going to try to jump it, he and I joked that that little battery was going to start the car after my big SUV couldn't... voila, she started right up with that gizmo!
