I want to give a shout out to this group right now, as well as a very special thank you! My daughter was at a nearby camp for a youth retreat when she got something in her eye. I called them up an hour before they closed and asked if they could squeeze her in. Not only did they get her in immediately. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The process went so smoothly. They removed the debris that was scratching her eye. And she went on her way with eye drops. We can all rest easy knowing she got the help she needed. Mixed bag. Good exam by the optometrist, but then I went into the retail store to order glasses. Very pricey (compare Costco and online stores and you are paying 30-60% as a premium). I made the decision to pay the premium for convenience (though they do negotiate discounts if you push - only a sucker pays full retail) and was promised the glasses in "10 days to 2 weeks". At the 2 week mark, I called and was told that the glasses would be shipped that day. Four days later, I called and was told that the glasses "are in transit". Asked to cancel the order and was told that there is a 50% penalty. Bottom line, a very expensive place that provides average service. You can do better. read more

After wearing glasses for the last three years, I wanted to try out contacts. I didn't want to trust my eyes to an eyewear chain. I noticed that monument vision already had great reviews, so I wanted to check them out for myself. True to all the great reviews, I had a lot of questions, and Dr Sloan had a lot of detailed answers! Which I need when I'm making a new decision. He was very patient and knowledgeable. After I received the contacts, I kept running my trials and they gave me several pairs of trials and lots of advice. I also scheduled a follow up appointment because I wasn't sure if my new contacts were fitted correctly and Dr. Sloan fit me in right away to make sure they were well-suited to me before I ordered. Again he took his time with me and I felt confident enough to make the decision to order. They may be a little more pricey than your average eye chain, but I wouldn't skimp on my eyes. I've been a customer of Monument Vision for 5 years and never had problems until now. We went on vacation to Hawaii and I left my contacts at home. No local vision stores would even give me samples without a prescription. I called Monument Vision to get my prescription and found out it was expired by 5 days. I already had an appointment scheduled for my annual checkup the following week. They refused to extend my prescription for even one week! I never had any eye issues with contacts in the last 5 years as a patient with them and they couldn't extend the prescription for a lousy week!!!! I spent 3 hours trying to find a clinic that could do an eye exam quickly and accept my insurance. I finally found Maui Optix that could see me the next day. Because that clinic was on the other side of the island, I wasted another 5 hours of my vacation getting the exam. On the plus side, Maui Optix was great. They even did tests for free that Monument Vision charges for. They said getting all the tests was in the best interest of their patients and did not want to nickel and dime them. Go figure?? So, because of Monument Vision's pettiness, I couldn't wear sunglasses in the blazing sun for 2 days, had to waste a full day of vacation and was totally stressed when I should have been relaxing. Needless to say, I'm cancelling my annual checkup with Monument Vision and will be actively looking for new vision care. read more

Excellent staff, service and doctors! My family and I have been patients for 10 years and the quality of care and service is consistently high. We see Dr Sloan and he is great! In addition my son ran over his glasses and sunglasses in his backpack (don't ask how this is possible). He took them in and was able to have both fixed quickly and with no charge! My first visit there and I think these folks are awesome. They made it easy and handled the setup, insurance, et al., with great ease. I have VSP Signature/Choice for insurance. Very professional, friendly and courteous. I was seen early, which was nice. Callie was the tech and Virginia helped me pick out frames. Both were wonderful and I will definitely go back. Front desk ladies and the doctors were also great. They have a good selection of frames. read more
